Hi Pete, Sorry for reviving this old thread... I just acquired a GA28R, formerly at a flying school here in NZ... I have yet to fire it up, I am assured it was working before I collected it... Could I trouble you for a copy of your driver? The sim currently has FS2000 on it (and was being actively used with it up until recently!), but I plan on trying to get it running with FSX if possible. The sim is in really good condition, and I'm looking forward to getting my GA flying fix with it :) You mentioned that they only made a few of these things, which is a real shame as it appears to be a great, and well made piece of kit! Hi Pete, Ok, I am using 4.675 and I was running it from the command prompt under win7x64 and winXP-Pro with the same result.... I've just run it exactly as you describe, i.e. the modified shortcut on the desktop and it went swimmingly.... Filesize down from 4.6mb to 1.2 Thank you *again* for your help,.. that was doing my head in! SeanG

I have been using the files created by Makerwys.exe in my simple Instructor Station app, and have it working really well (Thanks Pete!) but I can't seem to get the runway length switch to work. I have read the readme, and even used the example shown in the readme of "makerwys />0" but still get the same output i.e. all runways >1500ft. I want to limit my "goto" list to runways >5000ft since my sim cant use less than that anyway. Am I reading it wrong or should this work? Any help would be appreciated (or even a slap for not reading the manual properly...) Cheers Sean

Yeah, that's the way I do it on my sim at home... unfortunately not all of the PC's in the rack are running wideclient, so we need an alternate way of doing it anyway... More information I have just found; The problem we are having is that one of the "FSPANEL.EXE" instances (FSPanels are our utils which communicate with FSUIPC then send the data out to our other apps) is randomly generating an "FSUIPC Error 13: IPC Request contains bad data" in our app log file. This is one of the apps (not sure which instance) running on the CDU machine, from where the client log came. SeanG

I suspect that the way we shut down FS and the clients will cause the loss of the end of the logs... we just command the PC's to shutdown, so I don't know if that would cause everything to close nicely. Next time we have a report of this fault I'll close everything tidily and grab all of the log files. We have pretty much ruled out memory leaks, and we've seen more than our fair share of them in FS9 scenery over the years! Hmm, I'll have another look at the files, but I would have thought they would be complete... I'll have another look :) We have this happening on a number of sites at infrequent intervals, and all since we changed out the FS PC's to win 7 boxes. Prior to that the whole network was Win XP Pro, and we never (that I am aware of) had this problem. I'll try to grab a full set of log files (server and all relevant clients) from one which has had this fault, and start delving into network issues with the new PC's Thanks Pete, at least I have a starting point to launch the trouble-shooting from! :) SeanG

I have an intermittent fault which is causing some problems, and have found that both Wideserver and wideclient have errors appearing in their respective log files at the time of the fault occurring. The problem I have is that I can't generate the fault at will, and as there are multiple copies of the application in question running, I don't even know which instance is at fault. Thanks Pete, I figured out the keyboard focus part... I had confused myself by testing it on my local machine. Once I ran it up on my sim it worked exactly as I wanted, and since the sim it will be living on only has FS on the target machine it wont be a problem. That's one more hurdle over to getting this sim working as we want it :) SeanG

Hi again Pete, I have just added code to write to FS Control 1070 at offset 3100, and the results are not quite what I expected.... FSUIPC is reporting (via the Adv window) that 3110 is setting correctly to 1070, and 3114 (should be the "parameter" correct?) is setting to 6157, being 13 + 256*(8+16), being 13 (keycode for enter) + 256*(code for normal, + code for alt) Weird part; what I am setting in FSUIPC is actually appearing to affect the active window, i.e. my instructor station APP. I changed my code to send ALT+F4, and it closed my app, rather than FS. Now, I haven't tried it with FS on a different PC, and having FS in focus, which may make a difference... Unless I have done something wrong that is.... More to come as I play around :) SeanG

I decided to have a go at writing a simple application, and using your module, and docs, with Visual Studio 2010 Express (vb.net) it was soooo easy! I have no programming experience, unless you count learning BASIC at high school in the early 80's, but found your DLL easy to use.. and to learn! So a big, BIG thank you.. SeanG Oh, and instead of writing a "simple little app" I have now written my own instructor station for my A-4 Skyhawk simpit :)

I need a little more guidance... For FS Control 1070 the parameter required is: Keycode + (256 * Shift code) Where do I find what the shift code is? (I have looked in the docs, but may have overlooked it...) Cheers Sean
