Managed to get it working by accident. Just kept reinstalling untill it worked. Thanks for the help everyone!

I know, but I've tried reinstalling it multiple times and it still doesn't work. I've even formatted my PC to make sure there was nothing left of the ,,corrupt" FSX installation, and yet it still doesn't work. Maybe the installer is corrupt? Will there be an update for the Steam Edition? I have Windows 8.1, if anything.

Hello, Recently I've purchased the plane mentioned above. I own the SE of FSX. However, after installing it, the gauges are all messed up and the 2D cockpit doesn't work. I am aware this problem is mentioned in the FAQ, but I doubt that it's a problem with a FRESH installation of FSX ( I've even formatted my computer, hoping it would help ).
