Hi Maxibon,

Are you using default directories for FSX? Xpack installed? If Xpack is installed, you should install sdk.msi from the Xpack DVD.

Good luck and kind regards

Depending on what flavor of FSX you are running you need the appropriate SDK (versions MUST match!):

FSX - RTM use SDK1a

FSX - SP1 use SDK1a

FSX - Acceleration use SDK2 from Acceleration disk

FSX - SP2 use SDK2 from the download at FSInsider

Is this the dll.xml file from the user who actually runs FSX?

Good Day

Thanx to all so far.

I have done a clean installation of fsx and the sdk from the original disk. I have then installed all the pathes from fsinsider.

(Patch 1a)
Patch 1 for SDK

And which version of FSX do you have. If I read correctly you have FSX SP1, this requires SDK SP1a.

yes, looks like he's got FSX SP1 with SDK SP2. That's not going to work.

I also have a nagging feeling that he's got incorrect assumptions about what the SDK actually installs on your machine, is thinking there should be some tools and stuff available from the start menu rather than just a bunch of documents.

There should, however, be other options in the "Tools" drop down. For instance I have "Traffic Toolbox", "Object Placement Tool" and "FX Tool".

He does say he has the SP2 SDK installed and is looking in the right place. I also can't see any reason in that XML why it wouldn't work... Unless SP2 itself is not installed, but the SP2 SDK is, which is what the original poster actually says?

Isn't it? I wouldn't be without these:

Not to mention BglComp, TmfViewer, Autogen Annotator, SimConnect, Shp2Vec etc. etc.

Making the flashy bits is what the FX Tool is there for...

Now, seriously, I checked my dll.xml and apart from some extra stuff, it looks almost identical to the original poster's. That brings me to ask two questions.

1) Are all the files it calls for actually in the place where dll.xml is expecting to find them?
2) Mine doesn't list the full paths to the dlls, just "..\microsoft flight simulator X Sdk\[etc]" - if possible (i.e. you don't have FS and the SDK on different drives, which can cause problems anyway), can you try it like that?
