Note that mostly this Announcement will contain only the changed  modules. You will almost  always need the main release installed first. For those please go to http://www.schiratti.com/dowson

The FS modules here, when supplied without Installer, need copying into the FS modules folder once extracted.

Please note the format here. The links for all the updates are listed first. For interim releases only, notes about changes are listed separately, below.

Install complete FSUIPC version 3.999z2 Install FSUIPC 3.999z2 for FS9 and before
FSUIPC version 3.999z2 on its own, for those with 3.999z1 already installed FSUIPC 3.999z2
-- signature checking now removed.

-- signature checking now removed
-- 4.901 includes a facility to use system time for loaded flights.
-- 4.902 fixes a hang on certain unusual device connections
-- 4.903 fixes missing OOM loggging with LogExtras enabled.

WideFS version 6.995  WideFS 6.995
Full release including documentation.

Dear Pete Dowson

How do I install FSUIPC? In the installer i was forced to accept some gadget junk program, install toolbar here and there. And if I didnt tick in I could not continue with the installation

What to do

All the best
Thank you for your work

Then you have run a fake version of the FSUIPC installer. Where did you get it from?

The sources for the FSUIPC are the links at the top of this thread (simflight.com), or linked to from the product page at simMarket (schiratti.com/dowson). I have just checked and installed the 4.60 client and there is no trace of any of what you describe. Any other links (especially from warez or P2P sites) are most probably going to contain malware or rubbish like you now have installed.

Download Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org - or a similar package urgently and scan your system. Hopefully that will remove whatever the program you ran has put on your PC.

The current correct installer can be found at the top of this page.

Hi, apologies in advance if this may seem an oobvious question, but its not clear to me. What do I need to download and install to have the latest version ?

I went first to the Schiratti site and installed the main release (4.86) as per the first line of Petes post. There it says it is the latest release and dated 4th of Feb (I think).

Do I need to do anything else? I am not sure which of the other files in that post I may or  may not need. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't really understand what you want. You just download what you want or need. If you've installed 4.86, then you have installed FSUIPC 4.86. What else are you looking for?

Hi Mark,

4.86 is the current latest version. Any official superseding interim versions of the DLL itself would be posted here, under a "latest interim release". Although you will also sometimes find test versions posted to individual threads elsewhere, while trying to resolve an issue, this thread should be considered the "master".

Cheers,

Ian P.

Edit: Pete got to it before I did. ;)

Peter I have a strange problem with the WideClient.exe. After download with my laptop I see the WideClient.exe in the folder. I transfered it to my 2nd FSX computer with an winxp system. If I open the folder I saw the WideClient.exe for a short moment and then it disapeared. Really it just disapeared and I have no chance to get it back. Only the Closer app stays. Do you have any idea why? Never had this with any other apps on this machine.
If I download it directly on that machine it is not there when I open the folder after DL???!!!
Strange maybe hopefully you are able to help.
Kind Regards Tom

Hi,

Which is the final last version?

FSUIPC version 4.866 or FSUIPC version 4.86, as last (4.86) is in the site?

There's no "final last version", there's always likely to be futher interim updates. As should be clear, 4.86 is the latest full release with installer and documentation, and 4.866 (which has a bigger number if you look at it) is a the current interim update to that. You run the 4.86 installer and then optionally update further by copying in the interim update. All this should be clear from what is writeen. Why does it seem not to be so?

Yes I know we've always updates.

I just wanted to know which is the currently used version.

It seemed strange because in the site only version 4.86 of February is available.

EDIT: To install this version is just overwrite the FSUIPC4.dll file at Modules folder?

As I said, and as is surely completely clear, 4.86 or 4.866, but for 4.866 you must install 4.86 first.

What site? If you mean the Schiratti webside, then, yes, of course, because that only features the main installable release, which is currently 4.86. As I said, and as this site says, 4.866 is an interim update, not a main release!

Where on Earth do you find any confusion whatsoever?

Which version? Install 4.86 by running the Installer. If you want 4.866, copy it in afterwards. I already told you this. Interim updates are simply replacement DLLs.

Hi Pete, sorry I have had a mental block.

What is the difference between 3.999z2 and 4.90?

The 3.XXX's are for FS9; 4.XXX's are for FSX.

This problem is described a lot elsewhere on the forum, Werner - it's a false positive that is only "detected" by NAV and which they really need to fix.

Other people have got around it by either installing the "module only" option, from the link at the top of this forum, or by adding an exception to Norton's list. Please also contact Norton and tell them to fix their software!

Cheers,

Ian P.
