Installation of FSUIPC / User & Admin rights

Recommended Posts

Pete,

Lets start off by saying you have a great product. On the two computers I have owned FSUIPC has worked very well.

Just recently, I had to uninstall FSX because of an error. While uninstalling it deleted the modules folder FSUIPC was in, as expected. I'v reinstalled FSX. Everything works fine so I wanted to add your program again.FSX addons need your program. While running your program, I noticed FSX needs to run as Administer for FSUIPC to run at all.

I run an individual user account (not the admin account), because as a college student, I trust no one. For me to use your program, I have to run FSX as administrator. This annoys me because 1: It changes the settings from the user FSX settings to the admin FSX settiings and 2: Call me lazy, but I can't stand the pop up requesting the administrator password.

Is there anything I can do before, during, or after the installation of FSUIPC that will allow FSUIPC to run without administer rights. In other words, I want to run FSUIPC in my user account without ever having to deal with administer crap.

I hope this makes sense. I'm horrible at describing things.

Thanks

JStump

No, that is most certainly not true. I never run FS9 or FSX "as administrator" and I don't advise anyone else to do so either.

What makes you think this is so in the first place? Perhaps you should describe the problem you have rather than assume a cause, incorrectly in this case.

Regards

Pete

Problem Solved. Thanks for the Help.

Well, I'm glad you solved it. But I obviously didn't actually help, because I didn't have any information.

What turned out to be the problem and solution, please? It is good to tell us because it may help others.

Regards

Pete
