Cross country/Oceanic flights?

3 posts in this topic

I was trying to do a real world flight from KSFO to LFPG, and basically it gives me this route that doesn't look real or even possible with any aircraft, and basically takes me up the west coast, then across the pacific, then, across the atlantic. How do I get it not to do this? Or am I misunderstanding something?

I've got the 9.0 version of the Areosoft download.

FSX Acceleration as well.

Hi,

You have not misunderstood but ... You did not read the manual.

Chapter 16, and NATracks PACOTS, page 100

All you need to cross the Atlantic you'll find in this chapter.

Manok101 - here is how you get real world routes:

http://flightaware.com/

Under "FORGOT the FLIGHT NUMBER?" type in ICAO of both departure and arrival airports (this site only does US departures, there may be another for Europe). Using the route you want, KSFO to LFPG:

Flight Finder Results » San Francisco Intl (KSFO) - Charles de Gaulle/Roissy (LFPG)

Ident Aircraft Status Departed ► Arrival Connection Operator AFR85 B772 Scheduled (in 6 hours 25 minutes) Sun 06:35PM SFO ► CDG 02:00PM Mon

Air France

Clicking on any of the results, you get the next page.

Air France 85

AFR85 · "Airfrance" (all flights) airfrance.fr

San Francisco Intl (KSFO)

Terminal I

Charles de Gaulle/Roissy (LFPG / CDG)

Terminal 2E

06:45PM

01:50PM Scheduled: 06:35PM 7-day average: 06:35PM Scheduled: 01:40PM 7-day average: 01:46PM

Other flights between these airports

Duration: 10 hours 5 minutes

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Status Scheduled (in 6 hours 24 minutes) Aircraft Boeing 777-200 (twin-jet) (H/B772/Q – photos) Speed Filed: 505 kts (graph) Distance Direct: 5,575 sm Planned: 5,662 sm Route FMG J7 REO J537 MLP J540 YEK LAT5 6630N 08000W NCAC 6730N 07000W NCAC CANEL 6800N 06000W 6700N 05000W 6600N 4000W 6400N 03000W 6000N 02000W 5800N 01500W AGORI OSBOX MIMKU UL10 WAL UL151 MID UL18 SFD UM605 DPE

Now copy the route into FSC but delete lat/long coordinates but follow the method Volker mentioned. Now you have a real world route.
