FSX Simply Will Not Accept FSUIPC 4

Recommended Posts

Hi Peter,

I know this topic has been mentioned before but despite following those instructions I can not get an acceptance saved. Occasionally I select the yes box to the warning and get as far as what appears to be acceptance of the module -  to the point where I can fly for that session using the program, however when I go back the next time the same routine applies except for the fact that saying yes to the warning FSX freezes to the point that I have to cancel my FS session.

I have been through this so many times now that I want to give up as so many things depend on the module working such as reverse thrust, gauges and many of the Orbix features. I have been using FSUIPC modules for many years and never had anything like this before. I run the install again and get the message that it was loaded into FSX again only for it to hang up as before.

Among the things I have tried include  going back to an fsx.cfg that I know was working only to get back to the same routine again. FSX is now probably very confused and I could not bear to go through another reinstall

I am using the 4.929 module, Windows 7 with updates and FSX with all of its updates.

I have tried to copy my FSUIPC files but have not had any success

If you could possibly help or point me in the right direction that would be great. I am a paraplegic with limited use of my hands and FS gives me a lot of joy usually.

Thank you in advance

Regards

Graeme

I do wish I could actually reproduce this sort of problem, because it has never occurred here on any of 4 systems. And I run all sorts of add-ons, a different selection on each PC.

I can only think that there's some bad interaction between two or more of the add-ons you have loading via DLL.XML or EXE.XML. The only things I can think of trying are:

1) re-ordering the loading of things in DLL.XML

2) more drastically, removing everything else except FSUIPC4 from the DLL.XML, and loading any EXEs separately, later, instead of via EXE.XML.

3) trying the FSUIPC4_Loader to change the timings

4) Using the Initdelay parameter in FSUIPC's INI file. to delay its Simconnect interaction.

When you get the loading failure is the a part of an FSUIPC log file produced at all? If so it would be a good idea to show it to me so I can see where it got to. If not, then the problem certainly lies in SimConnect's loading sequences.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your reply. As best I could I tried the things you mentioned including a number of add-on deletions. However the same old routine occurs.

I will endeavour to attach a couple of log files but unfortunately no success. I tried both options but they say I can't upload this type of file

One thought I had was to see if I could apply a Registry Cleaner or one of the CC Cleaner type things and see if I can't get rid of some junk files.

I would appreciate your thought on this and advise me as to how I can send you a copy of the log files.

Thank,

Graeme

They are just text, so just paste them into a message.

Note that if FSUIPC is  actually generating a run-time log file (FSUIPC4.LOG), then it IS getting loaded and is running.

You said:

which I don't fully understand. What is "the same old routine"? I recall you saying:

FSX freezes to the point that I have to cancel my FS session.

How do you "cancel" it? What exactly is this "freeze"? A hang, or just a slow-down? And when, exactly, does it occur?  For instqance, this suggestion of mne:

4) Using the Initdelay parameter in FSUIPC's INI file. to delay its Simconnect interaction

should certainly have changed the timing of events.

  • 4 weeks later...

Dear Peter,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you with the results of my endeavours, unfortunately a few health issues got in the way.

The bottom line is that I can finally report success.

These are what I tried: added FSUIPC4_Loader.dll into FSX - on its own no solution. I then started on the InitDelay=1  using various times and at first used 2 and got an initial acceptance however the next time I opened FSX no go again, freeze up. I then used random ones like 15,20, 60, 5 etc., and can now say with confidence that for me, 5 is the magic no.

Copy of files below for your info. This was the only way I could include them.

Thank you for all of your help and patience

Regards

Graeme

Good news! Thanks for getting back.

These are what I tried: added FSUIPC4_Loader.dll into FSX - on its own no solution. Hmm. There must be some odd interaction with other things accessing SimConnect.  Very strange. But glad there was a work-around.

Regards

Pete
