FsX unable to connect FsUipc

Recommended Posts

I use a registrated version of FsUipc since from Fs9. It's a lot of years I fly in FsX without problems with FsUipc, but in this last period it often happens that launching FsX, during the loading of the sim, appears the window "Unable to connect to FsUipc". I click on "retry" and sometimes it works, sometimes no. What's happening?

Thank you

What program says "unable to connect to FSUIPC"? Because there's no such message in FSUIPC or in FS itself. Sounds like you are trying to run some FSUIPC application before FSUIPC is actually loaded.

I don't know, I only run FsX (as administrator) and during the loading of the sim, the message appears. Next time I'll see if there are details to show you.

Well something you are running wants to connect to FSUIPC and it is either trying to do so too early (before FSUIPC is ready) or, more likely, you are not running this other program at the same privilege level -- i.e "as administrator".

Why are you running FS "as adminitstrator" in any case? It should not be necessary. I've never run it "as administrator", but if you do then ALL programs that need to connect must also be run "as administrator"!

Until you identify the actual program which is giving you this message I can't help further. It certainly is not FSX nor FSUIPC.

All programs are installed in my acocunt that is the administrator. I normally run fsX in that way because some people suggested me (even in some manuals of addons I've read it).

I'll show you details as promise asap, and the same way, I'll have a try running FsX not as administrator to see what happens.

Thank you

I have the registered copy of "FSUIPC4" I am attempting to use it with the Flyaomedia flight school . I have installed the FSUIPC4 into the add on section of FSX . I attempt to start FSUIPC4 setup for the controls of the program but it will not function. FSX does not respond to FSUIPC4?? Help Please??

this is not the way FSUIPC is installed (in the add on section of FSX)

you just need to run the installer in the "zip-file"

there is also a "installing and registering FSUIPC.pdf file" with instructions on how to install FSUIPC in the zip

Hi Pete, the situation is happened again and now I know what it is: the "Saitek Pro flight panels Fs2004 (FsUipc)" program or dll I don't know, that causes the connection error "Unable to connect to FsUipc", solved clicking on button "Retry" (sometimes it appears more times and I've to retry twice o three times). It seems happening runnig FsX normally or as administrator.

What do yout think about?

Thank you

Hi,

as Pete already said the program (in your case Saitek) try to connect to FSUIPC before it is ready. Because of bad handling of 'FSUIPC is not ready' it throws an exception instead of 'quiet' trying again ...

But anyway.

Saitek programs are in FSX started via exe.xml file, just Disable both programs in exe.dll (if in your case there are two to start) via FSUIPC

<Launch.Addon>
        <Name>Saitek Panel(s) Plugin for FSX</Name>
	<Disabled>True</Disabled>
        <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\Pro Flight Panels\SaiPanels.exe</Path>
        <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine>
</Launch.Addon>

<Launch.Addon>
        <Name>Saitek Panel(s) Plugin for FSX</Name>
	<Disabled>True</Disabled>
        <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\Pro Flight Panels\SaiPanelsFS9.exe</Path>
        <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine>
</Launch.Addon>

In FSUIPC start the program(s) with

[Programs]
RunIf1=Ready,CLOSE,C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\Pro Flight Panels\SaiPanels.exe
RunIf2=Ready,CLOSE,C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\Pro Flight Panels\SaiPanelsFS9.exe

That makes sure the programs are never started before FSUIPC is fully up and running and so they can not throw the exception.

Don't forget to disable

<Disabled>True</Disabled>

Dear Mgh, as I said, read the beginning of the topic, when I explained the problem to Pete and the other replyes. My last post is to inform Pete about the details of the problem, as Pete said that was another software the problem, not FsUipc: the details confirm his suggestion.

Ew321, thank you very much for your kind help, you have understood the situation. Now I'll try to modify the file.
