SAITEK QUADRANT THROTTLE ISSUE

Recommended Posts

Pete,

Apologies if this has already been answered but i am struggling to find the answer.

I have started configuring all my controls to be via fsuipc as fsx was always losing my configuration.

I have managed to configure everything as i need except throttle 4 which is on my Saitek Quadrant.

The throttle seems to engage only when it is at 50% on the lever and it gives full thrust.

In FSUIPC at throttle idle i have all of the levers showing the same values but once i increase the 4th throttle on the quadrant goes up to 16383

Any help would be grateful

This is an often reported problem which is caused by a bad Saitek install action in the Registry. It can only be corrected by a registry edit. You should find help on the Saitek forum, or else ask their support. I think it is because the axis is defined as a "digital" one, meaning it only has two values -- off and on!

Pete got the reply and applied it and all seems good for all the throttles on the quadrant... please see below the solution that fixed it for me

Here is our registry calibration guide:

One way to re-calibrate your device is to reset the raw data values that are held in Windows registry.

To do this:

1. Remove the USB plug for your controller from the PC.
2. Press and hold the Windows key on your keyboard and then press the letter R. This will open the Run box.
3. Type regedit and then click ok.

For Windows Vista/7/8/8.1

4. The Registry Editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side. Go down into the following folders in order by clicking the + next to the folder name.

+ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+ System
+ CurrentControlSet
+ Control
+ Media Properties
+ Private Properties
+ Joystick
+ OEM

5. Delete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3 or VID_0738, if you know the specific PID number or your device then you only need to delete the string that matches the VID and PID.

6. Then navigate to the DirectInput folder

+ HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+ SYSTEM
+ CurrentControlSet
+ Control
+ Media Properties
+ Private Properties
+ DirectInput

7. Delete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3 or VID_0738, if you know the specific PID number or your device then you only need to delete the string that matches the VID and PID.

8. Once deleted, close the editor, then plug the USB back into the original port. Move all the axes of the controller through their full range of movement four times. This will rebuild the data range for all axes.

  • 2 weeks later...

Will this fix all 4-engine aircraft issues for the x-55?  I have the X-55 as well and my problem with this new stick is with any 4-engine'd FSX aircraft, I have the throttle quadrant assigned to the default throttle one and throttle two commands and when I try to fly a four engine it only controls the engines on the left wing which I know would be a logical result. So going into the FSIUPC panel, I have tried to address the issue and set it up to run all four engines however, the best result I am getting thus far is the left throttle controlling engine 1 & 2 and the right throttle controlling 2,3 and 4. I have tried variations of settings in FSIUPC with no luck.

I thnak you all a head of time for your assistance in this matter.
