jumbly74speedy Posted February 14, 2015 Report Share Posted February 14, 2015 Hi i have been using fsuipc for a long time now on the 747 pmdg and ifly 747, after installing the latest update 3.999z8 for fs9 i seem to have lost all my macros for various buttons and switches ,i have tried to remake the macros ,but they do not appear in the drop down box,also the ones i made before have disapeared, but the tab button works when trying to make the new macros,i am using fs9 windows 7 32 bit ,also i have a problem now with the ifly 747 the auto throttle will not work, every time you switch on the auto throttle the throttle levers go haywire ,i am only using fsuipc, meaning the joysick is not enabled in fs9 hoping you can help me. regards steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Aren't you updating a bit late? Updating versions by simply running the installer never changes any of your settings, which are all retained in the FSUIPC.INI file in the FS Modules folder. i have tried to remake the macros ,but they do not appear in the drop down box,also the ones i made before have disapeared There's a limit of 127 macros which can be listed in the dropdown. You cannot assign to any beyond that. Check the list in the INI file. i have a problem now with the ifly 747 the auto throttle will not work, every time you switch on the auto throttle the throttle levers go haywire That sounds like a matter for iFly support. No, it simply ignores those after the first 127 in the list. also what is the limit 127 as I already said. ,and how do you erase the ones that are not used Delete the unused mcro files from the Modules folder. Then delete the unused lines in the Macro files list in the FSUIPC INI file.BEFORE loading FSUIPC. Delete all those later than 127 in the list too. They will reappear in freed up positions. You should get no where near 127 really. If you are not trying to preserve any existing mascros, but just making new ones, best to delete all the mcro files and the INI and start again. i made a error the version is 3.999z9 not z8 . Show me your FSUIPC.INI file, from the Modules folder. Paste into a message using the <> button above the edit area to enclose the file contents. So next you must look in the Modules folder and see what .mcro files are there. Alternatively, so you can show me, temporarily rename your FSUIPC4.INI file -- don't delete it -- and rerun FS. Then show me the MacroFiles section from the new FSUIPC4.INI file. It will then only list those which are there. Pete Dowson Posted March 9, 2015 Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 I have an interim test version of FSUIPC4 available in which there's an option to log all those added plug-ins and macros which should appear in the assignment drop-down lists. If you'd please use this and let me see the results. Steps to take: 1. Download FSUIPC4939f_test.zip 2. Copy the FSUIPC4.DLL found inside the ZIP into your FS Modules folder. 3. Edit the FSUIPC4.INI file (the one you pasted in this thread earlier) by adding these lines to the [General] section Debug=Please LogExtras=x40 4. Now run FS, then go to one of the FSUIPC assignments tab for keys or buttons and use the dropdown. You don't need to assign anything,just operate the dropdown for assignment. 5. Show me the FSUIPC4.LOG file. It will log all the plug-ins and macros it is adding the the drop-down list. To start with you added the two lines to the [buttons.iFly 747-400 RR (Wide screen) BA] section, NOT the [General] section, so they won't have any effect, and then you've posted the INI file when I said I needed to see the LOG file. Pete Hi Pete I dont under stand that you say the log file shows nothing usefull at all ,when you said to show you the log file ,eg Show me the FSUIPC4.LOG file. It will log all the plug-ins and macros it is adding the the drop-down list. (It only does this once, mind you -- you can carry on using FSUIPC then without worrying about a larger and larger Log file). Also i did use the dropdown menu,under buttons.I am trying again, i did not put the added 2 items in the general ini file which i have done now .i am also sending the ini file again with the added items in the general section.i dont understand why when i edit the ini file as you say one of the items when i paste it to you is not there eg log extras ,and when going back into the ini file log extras is not there only debug .is this correct.also if this may help, when i click on the create macro button and i name a button it used to take around 3 seconds for the end macro button to return to the create macro button,now it goes back instantly. Pete Dowson Posted March 12, 2015 Report Share Posted March 12, 2015 I dont under stand that you say the log file shows nothing usefull at all ,when you said to show you the log file ,eg Show me the FSUIPC4.LOG file. It will log all the plug-ins and macros ... But the log will only show that stuff when you've added those two lines to the INI file [General] section, as I keep telling you!!! Pete Dowson Posted March 13, 2015 Report Share Posted March 13, 2015 I must apologise. You must remove FSUIPC4.DLL from the Modules folder. FSUIPC4 is for FSX and later, not FS9. This thread got so long I got the context wrong. I'm afraid I have no answers for FSUIPC3 which is impossible for me to develop and support these days. FS9 is now 12 years old and the FSUIPC version used with it is even older, as it is basically the FS98 version I developed in 1999. I'm afraid I really don't know why none of your macros appear in the drop down list and I have no way of finding out. I am amazed you have accumulated as many as 127 -- there's something wrong with the way they are made if you need that many. You should only need one per aircraft type. Each macro file can actually contain just as many macros. It may simply be that there's a bug in FSUIPC3 which only happens when there are too many macro files. If I were you I'd try and prune your system radically. Remove all the stuff you don't really need and try to merge all the macros associated with the same aircraft. You might find it easier, in fact, to delete them all, and the INI file, and start again. Apologies again for going down the wrong path for so long ...
