Calibrating controls Aerosoft Twotter Extended

Recommended Posts

Hi one and all ... I recently acquired a Goflight throttle quadrant which I am struggling to get to grips with in the above plane ... I wonder whether someone in the know would cast their eyes over my attached profile and confirm or otherwise that my settings are viable .... the problem I am having revolves around interaction between throttles and prop pitch, the logic of what is going on I cannot follow, so can't begin to describe it ... I appreciate that turboprops control logic is distinctive ... as and when I am sure my quadrant is set up properly I will then see if I can bone up on the subject ...

Either your quadrant is faulty in that movement of one axis affects the output from another, or, and this is more likely, either you have not disabled controllers in FS so there are conflicts, or you are running some GoFlight driver which is doing the same things you want FSUIPC to do.

As far as the settings in your FSUIPC4.INI file are concerned, I can only observe that whilst you have assigned two throttles, two mixture controls and two prop pitch controls, all "direct to FSUIPC calibration", you have in each case only calibrated #1. there are no calibrations set for any of the three axes for #2.

You have calibration set for a default all-engine prop pitch axis too. That needs unsetting (i.e. press its reset button).

Hi,

Pete's assumption will be your problem - pretty sure about that. I fly this wonderful plane with the GoFlight Hardware and it's working fine. Here my Profile (your's should look similar but surely not the same). So it's just for your reference.

Hi ... just a quick thanks to you both for your assistance. Pete for setting the ball rolling and Reinhard for picking it up with the profile, the which I'm happy to say works perfectly ... the bonus is that it gives me reverse thrust lever rather than switch controlled, definitely my preferred option ...

Hi,

If you really want to know, how to fly this bird especially the handling of torque and prop pitch, read this article (entry #6):

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/91246-climb-data-and-cruise-power-tables/#entry674234

And you should get the revised FDE files in the pinned topic in that forum. The modification is great. The only thing which you shouldn't adjust according to the instructions is the propeller_moi, if you are using P3D 2.5. For FSX it's fine.

Hi Reinhard ... thanks for the link ... have downloaded and installed the revised files ... however it has cost me 2 liveries I added to the default ... in spite of adding the FLTSIM entries for these textures to the new aircraft cfg included with the new files they steadfastly refuse to appear in the sim ... puzzling I think you'd agree ....

Therefore I did the Installation manually as described in the linked thread. I am very carefully with all my installations and make backups of the changed files. The liveries must be in subsequent order - so maybe you have a gap in the ordering.
