FSUIPC not working properly after good install

Hello Pete,

So I need FSUIPC in order to use ACARS for a VA I'm a part of. I have installed FSUIPC without any problems however it still doesn't seem to work.

In my VA ACARS client, it says this error message (I know it might seem foreign but it's pretty straight forward)

"FSUIPC Error #2: FSUIPC_ERR_NOFS. Cannot find FSUIPC or WideFS running on this machine"

I have already tried reinstalling FSUIPC a few times with no avail. Would really like some help

Did you check it installed okay -- i.e. that the Add-Ons menu entry contains the FSUIPC entry?

 

In the FS modules folder you should find two files which are essential when reporting any problem:

 

FSUIPC4 Install.log

FSUIPC4.log

 

(If you don't see the ".log" part, turn off the Explorer option which hides the full filenames from you!).

 

Both files are text files. Paste their contents into a message here.

 

I have already tried reinstalling FSUIPC a few times with no avail.

 

Since all that would do is replace the same DLL with the same DLL, it isn't surprising it does nothing. The whole purpose of producing Log files is to show what is happening.

FSUIPC does not show up in the Add-Ons menu

 

Right. And the reason is that you have a corrupted or incompletely installed FSX.

 

To start with you have an out-of-date installation.

 

Checking version of the FSX EXE:

... Version 10.0.61355.0

 

Build 61355 is FSX SP1. You should at least have SP2. SP2 is a free update and corrects lots of problems.

 

Additionally you don't even have the correct SimConnect install even for SP1:

 

468 NOTE: SimConnect SP1 May07 is supported, but it isn't installed.

592 Trying to connect to SimConnect Original ...

 

This implies a failed install in the first place.

 

The older SimConnect does actually confirm that the Menu item was added:

so where it went is a puzzle, but it will undoubtedly be down to the bad FSX installation. These errors confirm that something is very wrong in FSX:

I suggest you either reinstall FSX completely and then update it to SP2 level, or at least download the SP2 update and apply that -- it may fix everything just doing that, as it will install the later SimConnect and correct any bad modules.
