FDC, FSUIPC, P3D

Recommended Posts

Hi friends,

I have been searching high and low as well as working with the developer of FlightDeck Companion to get FDC working in P3D.  Thus far, I haven't been able to find anything.  ProFlight Emulator, created by the same developer, works in P3D through FSUIPC, however, we can't seem to get FSUIPC and FDC to communicate through P3D.  That is to say, P3D is running on the side, I load a P3D flight with an aircraft I have configured for FDC, but when I go to the "addon" menu, I don't see a "Connect to FDC" option.  I am running the most recent FSUIPC and FDC with P3D v 2.5  Thank you for the help!

best,

Seth

There's no difference in the FSUIPC  interface when using P3D. I've no idea what the "connect to FDC" option would be for. Surely it's the other way round -- FSUIPC applications connect themselves to FSUIPC. FSUIPC never connects the other way around and never provides "connect" menu entries.

I think you really need the FDC folks to diagnose the problem for you.

P3D has been available for a long time now. I'm sure there are many happy FDC users with it. Have you asked around, in the FDC and P3D forums?

Thanks Pete.

Yes, I've looked around and it seems most people haven't had success.  That was why I emailed the developer.  Sorry about the technical language.  I wasn't sure what was connecting to what.  I will keep trying.  Thanks!

I can probably help the developer if he needs something looking at my end. but I don't have or use the product and can't really solve his problems for him. He has my email anyway.

Hey Seth, I'll try and post something on the developers website too.   This is one program that has been around since I started using FS9, sad to give up on it.    Odd that the program isn't connecting.    I've tried clicking the "connect" button on the main FDC page but all I sometimes get is a message "subscript out of range".    I've tried to manually enter my departure and arrival airports from the main interface and the program just hangs.        I'm running FDC on a client.

Not holding out a ton of hope, there really is next to nothing on the forum websites on the developers webpage.   Found an old post from 2013 where the author questioned how much future P3D would have due to its licensing setup.

Pete thanks for the input

Lets see what we can come up with.

Thanks for the response!  I've been in touch with Dave, the developer, and he has actually been a tremendous help.  He just sent me an email yesterday with an attachment that fixed the problem.  I haven't tested extensively, but I've been able to use FDC with P3D v2.5.  I would definitely contact him.  He is great.  I don't want to copy his email here, so if you need help contacting him, maybe I can help out.
