E170 STAR problem

Every time I set the FMC into the 170/190, climb to cruise height then go to set the Arrival information into the FMC it wipes out my VNAV information in the flight plan completely.

Everything sets up nicely with speeds and altitude information and VNAV works perfectly until I set the STAR info during the cruise when all the speed and altitude info disappears!

I make sure that I activate when requested.

Is this a problem in the EJets or am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks for any help!

As a recent newcomer to the E170 aircraft, I have just come across the same issue. I was actually doing a tutorial flight, step by step from a published tutorial. As Tony had said, all the data had been wiped from the FMC after entering arrival information. In my case, the aircraft continued following the flight plan but shortly after losing all the data from the FMC, FSX crashed with the following error message.

I installed the E170 on July 28th and only today set up a full flight.
