WideClient not connecting

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I believe since I updated my P3D, my wide client is not connecting anymore

I have P3D v.3.4.14 and registered FSUIPC 4.958

Here is the log from wide server:
********* WideServer.DLL Log [version 7.958] *********
Blocksize guide = 8192 (double allowed)
Date (dmy): 27/11/16, Time 20:24:48.094: Server name is SIMULATION
    15078 Initialising TCP/IP server
    15078 Initialising UDP/IP server
16015 Broadcasting service every 1000 mSecs

And the log from the WideClient

********* WideClient Log [version 6.999z2] Class=FS98MAIN *********
Date (dmy): 27/11/16, Time 20:25:37.058: Client name is JEREMY-LAPTOP
      172 LUA: "C:\WideFS\Initial.LUA": not found
      234 Attempting to connect now
234 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast
234 Failed to connect: waiting to try again
     1234 Attempting to connect now
22281 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast

Obviously this is not communicating while if I go to network I can see both computer shared file properly and FSIPanel is communicating properly as well.

What can I do.

Sincerely,

Jeremy

Changes to FSX or P3D do not affect anything WidFS does.

The logs show that broadcasts are not getting through. Check that your Windows workgroup name is the same on both PCs. Broadcasts stay in one workgroup.  Alternatively, if you prefer to have two different workgroups, you need to add the ServerName or ServerIPaddr and the protocol parameters to the WideClient.INI, as instructed in the user guide (in the section with the red text heading asking everyone to read it!)

You've posted on a thread which has been dead for well over THREE years!  You are lucky I saw it!

And if you want help with something, then please do state what your problem is.  You say "how do i find that out". What exactly do you want to find out? What is the actual problem?

So this Global Weather program uses FSUIPC, does it? Not SimConnect?

Oh, so you are simply saying you cannot get WideFs working?

Have you looked at the WideFs User Guide. There's a section which is essentia reading. It even highlights this in read.

After that I need to see more information:

* FSUIPC4.LOG from the P3D Modules folder
* WideServer.LOG from the P3D Modules folder
* WideClient.LOG from the folder on your client PC where you have WideClient.

Thease are what i found, i will send it now, this computer has Windows 10

And do the two computers belong to the same Workgroup? Both running Win10?

You were supposed to read the "must read" sectin of the User Guide first. Did you? Ifnot look for this, about page 4 I think:

Configure your Network
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL USERS TO READ AT LEAST PART OF THIS!

Do you have team veiwer, if so, its okay that you come in and check on this pc.

we do not provide bespoke support like this - its just not possible with the amount of users and time that support requires. We provide the information and help for you to solve the problems yourself. Please re-read the information already given and read the documents.
