Grant Posted December 4, 2017 Report Share Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) I'm trying to calibrate one of my throttles levers using FSuipc (I have a total of 3 throttle quadrents), have have been using this program for years and normally don't have any issues. However I need to state that I know this is not hardware related as stupidly on my part I did not bother to check if the calibration would work in P3D with my old quadrant so I went and bought a new quadrant which arrived yesterday and lo-and-behold the same issue is occurring. Inside of FSupic it is jumping from 0 straight to 16383, there is no range in between the 2 figures whereas inside P3D and FSx it is working through the full range nice and smooth. That symptom is normally related to having the "mode" of the axis defined as "digital" in the Regsitry. Is this with just one axis or all three? No idea, though, why it doesn't affect FSX or P3D. They also read the axis values in the same way. A few things to check though: 1. See what you get if you select "raw". That makes it report the real hardware value, not the one processed by Windows' "Game Controllers" calibration. 2. See this in the FAQ subforum: Anyway, I also need to see your FSUIPC INI file, the LOG, and the file called FSUIPC Joyscan.csv. Pete Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And with them all being identical, they are identified in the order to connect them and assigned their unique GUID accordingly, via the list in the Registry. Otherwise, the logs show everything to be fine. The FSUIPC Joycan is working exactly as intended. The fact that the Raw value is the same means that it isn't FSUIPC which is getting the values wrong, but definitely the way they are arriving through the Windows joystick driver. It is possible to read joystick inputs directly via the USB interface. This is used for other HID devices, where the Windows joystick interface cannot cope, and FSUIPC can handle this but currently it depends on the Windows joystick interface which is intended for the purpose. This does make it susceptible to registry entries dictating weird or incorrect calibration values or modes. Saitek installation seems very prone indeed to this happening. The only reason I can think of that it is not happening in P3D is that you have its "direct" mode enabled for joysticks. I think that by-passes the Joystick interface and goes direct to the USB interface. However, I ddn't think FSX did this or had such an option. Anyway, I think the answer is definitely to follow the advice in that FAQ thread I referred you to earlier. Please do that and let me know. It is likely the GUIDs have changed. You could simply delete the numerical assignment lines in the [JoyNames] section in your FSUIPC INI file, and let FSUIPC re-generate them, but I see you aren't using JoyLetters (really a big mistake with so many devices), so you'd then get problems with everything assigned to the wrong devices by numerical ID. So, instead, show me the same files as before again so I can see what is now different.Then I would be able to advise on settings to change in the JoyNames section. BTW, best with those files is to attach them rather than paste them into the message proper. The new Log shows the 2 quadrants: 219 Product= Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant 219 Manufacturer= Saitek 219 Vendor=06A3, Product=0C2D (Version 2.0) 266 GUIDs returned for product: VID_06A3&PID_0C2D: 266 GUID= {8D727C70-D9C3-11E7-8005-444553540000} 266 Details: Btns=9, POVs=(0, 0, 0, 0), Cal=x00000000, Max=R0,U0,V0,X255,Y255,Z255 266 GUID= {8D722E50-D9C3-11E7-8003-444553540000} 266 Details: Btns=9, POVs=(0, 0, 0, 0), Cal=x00000000, Max=R0,U0,V0,X255,Y255,Z255 but the CSV scan file shows that the Registry now idefies the other Quadrant as device #2, which FSUIPC cannot use because you already have the pedals as #2. So the safest thing it can do is simply not include it rather than try to assign a device ID which you are using for something else. Don't forget that it looks like a different device because of the changed GUID. This would have been averted by using JoyLetters and simply deleting the ID lines in the JoyName section. Then FSUIPC would have assigned IDs to suit and fixed the registry to match. The solution at present is to edit the INI file by adding in the other quadrant with the new GUID as device #0, thus: Add these two lines to the [JoyNames] section: 0=Flight Throttle Quadrant 0.GUID={8D727C70-D9C3-11E7-8005-444553540000} Please then also change "AutoAssignLetters=No" to Yes, so that you use Joy Letters, not IDs. Read the section in the User Guide about this subject. You may want to choose more meaningful letters than the A, B, C ... which will be assigned. But do that first, BEFORE running P3D again.
