Saitek multi throttle odd behaviour on a a few aircraft

Hi All,

I have a strange problem that only the complex Just flight aircraft have & now with the VRS superbug F18 in P3d V3.4.

I have two levers mapped as throttles, so I mapped throttle one to engine 1 & 3 and throttle two to engine 2 & 4.

The inputs show a range from - 16384 to 16383, the output box shows - 4096 to 16383.

Most aircraft the throttles seem to be fine, but some like Just flights Hawk, Tornado & Canberra and the VRS superbug F18 the throttles only come back half way & not to idle, the VRS F18 if I push the throttles to max on the controllers the sim throttles jump back to off & then won't move afterwards.

I have attached my .ini just in case any errors are obvious.

That's normal for a throttle axis on which you are using reverse too. -4096 is 25% reverse thrust which is the maxiumum allowed by more Aircraft.CFGs. This value might be reduced still further 9towards zero I mean) according to individual aircraft configurations. This is all done automatically by FSUIPC so that you get the full reverse range no matter what. If -4096 was the most reverse and aircraft could use, sending values less than that, down to -16384, would be a waste of axis movement.

You need to calibrate with no reverse zone then.  If they do have a reverse you'd need to use a method allowed or provided by the aircraft model.

The main error is that you are using a very old and completely unsupported version of FSUIPC4. Please always check such things before posting here.

Ok, thanks Pete. I thought I had the most up-to-date version for P3D V3.4. I did try no reverse zone & that did put the output to zero and gave me even less throttle movement in the problem aircraft. I will update FSUIPC now.

Setting NRZ mode should give you -16384 to +16384, but you probably need to assign to the Axis throttleN set FS controls, not assign direct to FSUIPC calibration. Some aircraft don't like the alternative controls FSUIPC then uses.

But just try with the update first.

Right its sorted. The update nor setting no reverse zone didn't cure it, sending the joystick data straight to the simulator instead of FSUIPC calibration did fix it.

Yes, there are just a few usually more advanced, add-on aircraft which need this. They handle everything themselves from a level hgher that that at which FSUIPC works.
