    Yes, you don't need LINDA.

Hi John, thanks for your explanation. What I'd like to do is use FSUIPC (registered) as "bridge" between LUA scripts and SPAD.next. I think it should be possible without using LINDA. Am I right? Regards, Alessandro

H i Alessandro, I agree completely - was just trying to clarify that its LINDA that uses lua, not spad.next, and thus you really only need a registered version of FSUIPC to use LINDA (or lua scripts in general), and not for spad.next. I use both fsuipc (with lua scripts) and spad.next, and they work well together. Cheers, John

Hi John, I've the registered version of SPAD.neXT. I prefer to not use LINDA because I'm not sure that "hybrid" configuration with SPAD.neXT and LINDA will work well. Any suggestion is welcome... Thanks, Alessandro

SPAD.next (registered or trial version) uses SimConnect, not Lua scripts. The freeware version used to use FSUIPC (unregistered), but I believe this is no longer available. There are (or were - its been a while since I checked) options in SPAD.next to use/integrate with FSUIPC. The lua script functionality is only available in a licensed FSUIPC. LINDA uses lua scripts and so requires a registered version of FSUIPC. John

    Ext.run command

Disregard, fixed it myself. After a lot of searching, finally figured out it was my syntax and I needed the '\\'.

I was wondering if anyone new if that the new Cargo airlines that are listed in the airlines.txt file for KRDU will actually work in Tower 3D Pro
  14. Hey guys, I'm trying to get a LUA script to run an external exe program, but it's not working and i'm pretty sure i'm doing something wrong with my extremely limited LUA capabilities. The program is a simple bat file compiled in an EXE that when opened, runs it's few lines of code and closes automatically, so all I want to do is have a button mapped in FSUIPC that calls on this script that uses the ext.run command to run this file. Lua script is as follows; ext.run("c:\panel.exe") I go into FSUIPC, press the button I want and select Lua Panel from the drop down and would guess that's it...but when pressing the button nothing happens. What am I missing?

    Feelthere KRDU RC

I just wanted to inform Feelthere that on their RC web page for KRDU doesn't show any pictures of actual real color liveries for the aircraft like they normally have. It's the same pictures as the vanilla liveries. Not sure if this was on purpose or not. 20. Hello John, that worked! Thank you again for your fast help. I am making progress with my project to get my old switch hardware working with P3D. The Lua script is 3000 lines long by now, and it seems to work ok. At least it is not working worse than my old Visual Basic solution. But I did not really do much flying with it until now. Some things, for example auto pilot functions, I can only test in flight. The FSUIPC documentation about ipc Lua functions and sim control variables is just great and very helpful. I will change to the new FSUIPC. Thank you Detlef
  21. Hi Detlef, the P3D window blackens when you open FSUIPC. When you press the escape key, that will close FSUIPC. Sounds like your screen resolution change has moved the FSUIPC window out of visibility. Try removing the ini parameter OptionsDialogOffset (from your FSUIPC5.ini file, located in your Modules folder), with P3D closed, and then restart P3D. Alternatively, go back to your previous screen resolution! Btw, you are using an older (and unsupported) version of FSUIPC. Please update to 5.152. John

Well no assistance received. When back to SimMarket and they say they are unable to help so guess I'm out of luck!
  23. Hello everybody, (I copied my question here originating from the user contributions forum which was probably wrong) I encountered the following problem today. Everything was working fine in my system two days ago. I have written a Lua script that was working fine. Now all of a sudden today after starting P3D, when I select FSUIPC Add-on from the menu the P3D window just shows black until I press the ESC key. I have no idea why that happens. I am not aware of any change in my system. The only thing I noted today when starting the PC, somehow P3D was already running and told me that the display resolution is wrong and whether I want to change. I said no. Maybe that was an error. But with the screen resolutions settings in Windows 10 and in P3D everything seems fine. I have: P3D 4.5.12.30293 Sim connect 4.5.0.0 FSUIPC5, Version 5.151 Windows 10 Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you Detlef
  24. Wow, even before the official announcement - it’s almost as if you have inside info. πŸ˜€

Reinhard, Thank you. So I'll act as this: because MP buttons mapping is almost done (only two are missing) I'll get FSUIPC registered (can always be useful) and then give a try to mouse macro. If problems remain then I'll upgrade Q400 to Pro/Training version (it depends on time of release of training version). I know that a new version of SPAD.next is on alpha release... in new version you will be able to add/edit the datarefs so it can be the solution. Alessandro
  26. Hi, I just found in the SPAD documentation: So you can map your hardware to virtual joystick buttons, which you then could map to LUA actions (or check them via the event library in your LUA scripts, which is the preferred method to implement such functions). Rgds Reinhard
  27. Hi, I don't own and use SPAD.next. I use GoFlight hardware - so the buttons and switches are visible in FSUIPC directly. In LUA scripts I am listening to these button events and I trigger the necessary activities to set or to get the values in the Q400 via the XML interface. According to your plan, to map these actions to keyboard events in SPAD.next, you could then assign the LUA actions in FSUIPC to these keyboard events. But strange, that you are not able to see these events directly in FSUIPC. But as I don't own this type of hard- and software, I can't help you in that topic in detail. The XML interface is obviously bound to the Pro version. So an upgrade is necessary. The upcoming training edition will get additional interface options for cockpit builders. But no clue, when it will be available. Typically this time frame is two weeks πŸ˜‰ The Pro version has some nice additional features (eg the 125Hz control of the main input axis). Q400 version comparison Rgds Reinhard
