  1. John, Yes I have a registered version of FSUIPC (many, many years). Have been running this VA software for about a month and crashes have only just started. Will contact them. So Luke are you saying that this va base almost certainly cannot cause the crash? William
  2. Hi John, Just yesterday I started getting crashes in my sim (P3Dv4). This message displays and is the only indication I get. Could you help me interpret what it is saying. Am I on the right lines when I suspect my VA Acars system is causing the crash. In between CTDs I completed a flight without logging on to the Virtual Airline and had no crash. The message: FSUIPC. FSUIPC Exception: FSUIPC Error”2 FSUIPC – Err-NOFS. Cannot find FSUIPC or Wide FS running on this machine. At FSUIPC. FSUIPC Connection. Open (Byte Class instance, Int32 Required Flightsim Version atFSUIPC.FSUIPCConnection.Open0 atVa Base Live. FSUIPCData.Open FSUIPC0 Thanks for any guidance. William
  3. Good luck Ed. Will be interested to see what happens. William
  4. Yes-I am exclusively using Prosim 737 for all my flights-- I was intending to use a mixture of FSUIPC/Prosim assignments on the extra board--e.g. for push back (Shift+P) ,view change, and anything else I might want -Traffic Zapper etc, plus fuel cut off switches (Prosim) Its function really is to run a "general purpose" type panel-- for convenience. Regards, William
  5. I am still following this topic although I am contributing nothing to help!! I understand Ed's frustration and will make 2 points to him: I have already 6 Bodnar cards attached to my sim -all working flawlessly. It is only when I introduce this 7th card (another Button Box) that the problems occur. This 7th card I have used in a different PC to test the connections of switches before installing them in the sim.--it works perfectly. Most of my Bodnar cards I bought new myself—some I bought 2nd hand—can't distinguish now! I am patiently awaiting builders to start the construction of a sim room in my garage. My sim will need to be dismantled for the move—I may change some things then. Maybe this strange problem will resolve itself.- Also I have an FDS Sys 1 card available and I may use that and rewire my partial Overhead thus removing 3 Bodnar cards from the equation! William
  6. Pete, Ok I will do as you suggest re the registry entries etc. I do need to remove the BUX card from my overhead (homebuilt) as I need the axis for a steering tiller- so I will be swapping it with the button box. This “extra” button box is one that I had been using on another test computer to check switch wiring before adding them into the sim. The odt file was produced from a word programme called “Libre Office” which I have on my Imac. Also, i don't really understand what the second 8007 was assigned to MIP Switches, but then labelled as New, No Assignments Yet! What's that about? Yes I agree badly explained. What happens is that when I add the extra card (which is running the new switch panel ) some, but not all, of the joy letters and their assignments are changed. (My assignments are from within Prosim Switch Configuration and some via FSUIPC.) BUX Joy Letter A operates the throttle quadrant – remains unchanged BUA Joy Letter C operates the yoke-remains unchanged Saitek Rudder Pedals Joy Letter D – operates Rudder pedals – remains unchanged BUX Joy Letter E – operates Fuel switches etc in Overhead – remains unchanged The “Button Box” cards get mixed: When I operate a MIP switch e.gMain Panel DU-- Button Box reports Joy “J” and works as programmed – but when the new card is added via USB -now MIP switches are reporting Joy Letter “F”--and the Main Panel DU switch operates the Left Recirculation Switch on the Bleed Air Panel !! In the case you ask about the 8007 labelled Joystick “J” was working the MIP switches but...after I added the extra card (all wired to the “New” switch panel)-when I pressed one of the new buttons on the New panel it registerd in FSUIPC as Joystick “J” Remove the “extra” card, wait a few seconds and all original cards return to normal working. If I then shut down, restart and do the same test I think I have seen different results re which joy letters are assigned—am getting even more confused myself now. Best to wait until after I have dismantled and rebuilt my sim before wasting any more of your time. Thanks, as always, William
  7. Thank you Pete. i did as you suggested and ran the sim again. When I run the sim without the added Bodnar Button Box card all is well. I then shut everything down and attach the extra card-things then get mixed up with existing cards not controlling what they should! Even with the sim running I can remove the extra card and all things return to their original assignments. On examining the ini file I see that two of the Button Boxes are given the same GUID. I attach the ini file and a table I made showing the changes which I am sure will be of interest to you. Please note that this is not an urgent issue as my sim is about to be dismantled this incoming week for removal to a new location in my house. I am sure i will create further problems then!! 8. Using P3Dv3.4—Win10--Prosim 737—FSUIPC v4.962. I have had a breakage in my Saitek Rudder Pedals -Right Differential Brake. I will be replacing my Rudder pedals soon. In the meantime I added a Logitech Extreme 3D Joystick to use for brakes—a solution I have now decided against. So I removed the Logitech USB connection As I am using the “Joystick Letters” option I see that the Logitech was assigned the letter “H” I have reinserted the joystick and removed any assignments for this joystick from within FSUIPC. So my first question: To completely remove this from FSUIPC do I simply delete the remaining lines referring to this in the FSUIPC.ini? (file attached) Second Question: I am attempting to add another BBI32 card but with the automatic assigning of “joy letters” I am now getting some other Bodnar boards in my Overhead mixed up in their assignments. I believe from reading below this may be solved/partially solved with an interim version of FSUIPC. Is this the case? Thanks, William FSUIPC4.ini
  9. I never like threads that the OP doesn't conclude-- so after several more starts and several crashes mixed with completed successful flights I decided to go the full reinstall route using the "Reset this PC" option in Win 10. I selected the "full clean" option to ensure that nothing was left behind. For anyone reading this thread--my system has an SSD and a HDD-- it took approximately 6.5 hours to complete the reset process. Now I should have a clean Win 10 installation to start the reinstall process. Thanks again for helping Pete William
  10. Indeed Pete it is so frustrating. Next attempt at loading P3D worked perfectly. Now on a flight. I did use the uninstall from Program and Features Below a selection of the reported errors from the crash earlier this morning. 11. Good Morning Pete, Recently I added a new motorised Throttle to my sim (complete with its own drivers) and subsequently removed it and replaced it with my original Bodnar/FSUIPC throttle. Since then I have been experiencing regular (P3D stopped working) crashes. I can sometimes complete a short flight but not very often. I can only assume that it was the uninstalling of the throttle software that led to the problems as P3D and Prosim 737 had been running perfectly beforehand. Would you please have a look at the FSUIPC Log File from today in the hope that it might show something that you could guide me with. Windows Event Viewer also produced 11 Error messages from the point of booting up the comp to the crash. I am getting close to the point of a complete uninstall/reinstall but want to avoid that if at all possible. 12. Good morning Pete, Aha I managed to get my "lost" assignments back using the JoyID utility and have set auto assign to Yes and all is good. Thank you very much for your guidance. Take care, William PS - You have helped me before (several years ago) but for some reason the site didn't recognise my email address, which hasn't changed, and I had to Register again - hence the low number of posts.
  13. Pete, Thank you very much for your fast reply. So by using the JoyID utility I have , by luck!!, now got Throttle card =OK, Yoke card=OK, MIP Button Box =now OK. Haven't tested but am assuming the Saitek Rudder Pedals will be ok also. That leaves me with the 3 cards ----2*Button Box and 1*BUX card in the new Overhead. I hadn't assigned very much to them (only the lights panel including the APU and Engine start switches). So my plan is to now assign Joy letters to all cards and then start afresh with the assignments in the three cards in the overhead. Does that sound sensible? Once I get the joy letters in place then I can remove the ovhd to continue work installing the annunciators and I will not lose any completed assignments. William
  14. Pete, I am making a reduced overhead for my cockpit and whilst waiting for some annunciator parts to arrive I impatiently decided to attach the almost finished project and get the switches assigned via ifly2fsuipc. This is where I have run into a problem - not unexpected since I have not yet used Joy Numbers. Following is a convoluted report on what is happening and what I am trying to do i.e. unplug and re plug an overhead using 3 of these cards. I have attached to my sim 6 Bodnar cards and 1 phidget LED 64 card (another Phidget LED 64 to be added soon). The cards: BU0836A (Yoke) attached via Hub 1 – is OK BU0836X (Throttle) attached via Hub 1 – is OK 1 * Button Box (MIP switches) – attached via HUB 1 – picking up switch inputs previously assigned to the steering tiller card switches (which was originally attached to HuB 1 but is now attached to HUB 2) BU0836 X (Steering Tiller ) now attached via HuB 2 – steering tiller axis remains ok. 2* Button Box – attached via HUB 2 – not ok.--- I set 1 of these to run the lights panel but it “lost” these inputs after it was disconnected to repair a wire connection issue. Hub 1 is a powered 7 port Hub and Hub 2 is 7 port but unpowered (although it can have power attached) I will have to disconnect the ovhd again when the parts arrive so is it best to leave all switch programming until I will no longer need to remove the USB connections? Or can I “rescue” any of the existing misplaced assignments? Sorry for the convoluted description – hope you can make some sense of it.
