  1. So now that I went and looked at the folder structure, the installer didn't ask me if I had PRO or not and it put it in the non-pro folder. I reinstalled and put it in the pro folder and it seems to be working. Thanks for your help.
  2. These are just downloads (not steam) and I left all of the folders as the default.
  3. I purchased a new computer a few months ago, and I'm finally getting around to setting this game back up. I've purchased and had working KATL and KATL Real Color in the past. I've downloaded everything again and installed it (the program, real traffic, real color for the 3 base airports, KATL, and KATL real color), however KATL is not showing up in my Aiport Selection dropdown. I've installed Atlanta a few times and no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  4. I've been away from the game a few months, and recently started playing again. I was surprised to find that the "loading multiple hours" bug that effects how much traffic actually comes in and out of an airport hasn't been addressed yet. It is impossible to play Atlanta at it's heaviest times (8am should produce 177 aircraft) without modifying the traffic schedules and reducing it to 1 or 2 hours, which I can do, but it's cumbersome and annoying, especially when you play multiplayer. If you don't modify the schedules, it results in about 60-80 aircraft in the hour instead of 177. As I understood correctly, the problem is that 6-8 hours of traffic is being loaded and ensuring there are enough aircraft for departures of that many hours, thereby taking up all of the gates for departing aircraft which results in arrivals not coming in because there are no terminals available. This isn't just an ATL bug, it happens at every airport, and I'm guessing most people don't realize it. Are there any plans to address this bug? It's a huge shortcoming of the simulation.
  5. When I've tried to play PHL at 9am, I only get about 50 total aircraft. I'm assuming this has to do with the "loading 6 hours of traffic" problem? I have verified this by playing the game at 9am normally (only 50 aircraft show up), then I modified the schedule to only include 9am and I get all 80 aircraft. Having to modify airport schedules to actually handle the amount of traffic indicated in the files is cumbersome and time consuming (if you even understand how to). Can you please do something about this? Even something as simple as the number of hours to load (as a command line parameter) would alleviate this problem. There has got to be a better solution than modifying schedules to take advantage of busy times.
  6. I think that's making some sense. What you're telling me is when I start at 8 am, the game is assuring that there is 8 hours of departing aircraft available (which is clogging all of the terminals) and then causing the beginning hours arrivals to be contingent on planes departing first. Hopefully in future releases this can be addressed by assuring enough aircraft exist using arriving aircraft also. At any rate, thanks for the clarifications, and I'll make adjustments to the schedules to take advantage of the crazy rush. If he doesn't see it, please pass along that there is a definite bug on aircraft arriving on 10/28. Once you've assigned taxi instructions (to the terminal) they move up just slightly and stop, then have to be told to "Continue Taxi" before they start moving on their way. Keep up the good work!
  7. If this is normal, how would you handle 177 aircraft at the 8am rush (as per what's in aircraft logs). Start from the beginning of the day, or you just can't? Also, while we're talking ATL, any aircraft that lands on 10/28, once they are issued taxi instructions, they move up a little bit and have to be told to "Continue Taxi." Other than those 2 issues, Atlanta seems to be working correctly.
  8. There seems to be a problem with traffic at ATL. When you start the game at an early hour (7 or 8am), it seems like every terminal already has an aircraft at it, and departures pop up just fine. However, since every terminal is taken, arrivals do not pop up until a departure has moved from the gate (and the arrival takes only vacated gates). This results in only handling about 60 aircraft / hour at that time, when the traffic logs clearly indicate 100 at 7am and 177 at am. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a problem at game startup? It seems like at 7 or 8am that the majority of terminals should be vacant as the morning rush would start coming in around that time. Thanks for your input, and once again, great job on this simulation.
  9. You are correct, I meant 25L. I have since started using the EXIT and VACATE commands, but when it's really busy you don't always have time to issue those. Maybe something as simple as having aircraft be smart enough not to make 130 degree turns on to high speed taxiways when exiting on there own would probably be a good idea :-)
  10. Joe, Thanks for your input! I already have all of the taxi diagrams. It was merely a suggestion that they be displayed in the game. As for the bug with traffic exiting on H1 (this is happening landing on 26R and making the sharp turn onto H1), there is no reason why traffic cannot move westbound on taxiway H from the high speed taxiway. This happens in real life and happens at other high speed taxiways in the game. At any rate, no matter if they can or can't, no taxi instructions should ever result in the aircraft taxiing back out onto the runway (this was the bug I was reporting) without your express permission to do so. Keep up the good work guys!
  11. If you are using the command bar for departing taxiing aircraft (no voice), select the aircraft then "RUNWAY", then from the bar under runway (not the arrival bar) the runway you want them to go to. If you are speaking: AMERICAN 231 RUNWAY 25R or AMERICAN 231 RUNWAY 25R TAXI VIA B That should get them to the departing runway you want. The arrivals will come in on the runways you have highlighted just below the command bar.
  12. You can select the arrival runways on the screen before you start (only select the ones you want arrivals on), or the runway list right below the command bar has your arrival runways highlighted and you can change them there (in game) You can send departures off of any runway.
  13. First of all kudos to the developers! As both a pilot and a software developer, I can definitely appreciate the intricacies of creating a product like this. You've done a fantastic job, and the voice recognition is superb. First, one bug that I've noticed: Aircraft landing on runway 25L at LAX that exit on the first taxiway (H1), when instructed to taxi (no matter how .. via H, via H1 H) always turn around and go back out onto the runway then down taxiway gulf. Unless there is adequate separation with landing traffic, I usually just delete the planes that exit on H1. Now, a suggestion: At LAX, the crossing taxiways between B and C (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5...) (and all other airports with short crossing taxiways) are not depicted in any way (even when zooming in). If they are actually in the game (I have not tested), it would be useful to depict them as it would be nice to issue "HOLD SHORT" commands using these taxiways. Now for the only thing that needs an upgrade/fix: Your taxi instructions need to be able to include a "CROSS RUNWAY XXX" so that aircraft do not stop on their taxi route. For instance, when an aircraft lands on runway 25L at LAX, you need to be able to issue an instruction that says "AMERICAN 859 TAXI TO TERMINAL VIA H P C CROSS RUNWAY 25R" so that the aircraft does not stop. Having to tell an aircraft to "CONTINUE TAXI" only once they are close to the runway isn't correct and wastes time. That one fix would be huge, and the other commands that would help, or make the simulation more realistic would be: 1. A standalone "CROSS RUNWAY" command (to replace continue taxi) that can be issued at any point during the taxi. "AMERICAN 859 CROSS RUNWAY 25R" 2. Also, if you're making it more realistic, with the "CROSS RUNWAY" commands you should add a "HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY" command. Again though, you guys have done a fantastic job on this simulation/game, and I look forward to seeing some updates come out! PilatusPilot32
