  1. No excuses, Guv (Duh!) how did I leave it on the desktop? Thanks Peter, all is now resolved. Another unrelated question - I am using the FSX CRJ model, and CH throttles, I think correctly calibrated in FSUIPC. On starting the FSX, the throttles are open to around 50%, which requires a physical movment of he CH levers open and close to correct and close the throttles. Any ideas on why FSX opens at a different value to FSUIPC ( actual throttle position) Thanks,
  2. Thank you Pete, Some people are just born to be dumb! I think the pc term now in the UK is technically challenged. Certainly sums me up! I found 3 other copies of older versions of wideFS on what was my previous FS PC. Now going downstairs to try and resolve the issue. Tnx again, ps TFS is the IVIBE seat control module, which loads from the start menu - The seat works like one of those massaging seats you see in shopping centres, and helps whilst trying to sort out FSUIPC & PM issues - open the throttle and the massage intensity increases. I haven't worked out where you can buy the extras that go in the expansion ports, but at 20V, they should be good value!
  3. Hi Pete, I have a problem starting the PM MCP on a remote PC since installing it on a new PC under FSX. WideFS starts OK, but leaves 3 Notepad windows open ( below, THEN, THEN) This does not happen on any of the other PCs running PMRJ or CDU, which start normally (legacy ini files after upgrading to WideFS 6.70), and leave open no notepad windows. I cannot get the MCP to load automatically, and wondered if there was an issue with the TFS, as this is the only networked PC running the programme. The other version is on the FSX PC. The other 4 networked PCs also shutdown OK from the PM CDU command, but the MCP PC does not. Please can you help with a word from the wise? Thanks, Paul Notepad entries left open on startup: [Config] ButtonScanInterval=20 ClassInstance=0 NetworkTiming=5,1 MailslotTiming=2000,1000 PollInterval=2000 Port=8002 Port2=9002 ResponseTime=18 ApplicationDelay=0 TCPcoalesce=No WaitForNewData=500 MaxSendQ=100 OnMaxSendQ=Log NewSendScanTime=50 Priority=3,1,2 Window=75,81,593,489 THEN (2nd window) ********* WideClient Log [version 6.70] Class=FS98MAIN ********* Date (dmy): 08/12/06, Time 14:36:12.953: Client name is MCP 343 Attempting to connect now 1343 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast 1343 Failed to connect: waiting to try again 1515 New Client Application: "TFSControlPanel" (Id=1632) 3375 Attempting to connect now 67531 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast 178047 Server = FMS1 178062 Trying TCP/IP host "FMS1" port 8002 ... 178062Okay, IP Address = 192.168.0.1 178078 Connection made okay! 4. Pete, Thanks for your patience. The documentation is clear and concise. I found (DUMB) that I had checked Map to 4 throttles on Page 1, thereby defeating all my attempts to separately calibrate. It doesnt help I dont have any panels on the model I am flying, so I cant see the throttle movement, only via the EICAS on PM GC. Still, all well that ends well. Thanks for your excellent support.
  5. Pete, I see you have had a good holiday - going at the forum 100% on return! Please accept my apologies for being stupid, but you know there are some people who cannot programme their VCR ( Well, DVD!) I have followed your documents, and those of Bob, extremely useful, but I am obviously missing something. Having 5 times followed the documented method this evening, I still see OUT the same values as IN, despite having moved the axis and clicked a number of times, both at the start and end of null zones and end of travel. I have SET and RESET as I did before, but ..... Please accept my apologies again for not seeing the obvious - when I was running the logistics for a VW car factory, I came to the conclusion that I was not an engineer ( as in the Vorsprung Dorschtecnik ads), but more of an artist with a mechanical bent.. thanks
  6. Bob, Thanks for your help - I have used your excellent documentation to help me to setup before, but this time it had defeated me - all settings in CH are correct, but FSUIPC still returns values which are unexpected, ie not the 0 and -4096 which I had before, and I cannot get the throttle to idle correctly in FS9. I have modified my throttle setup since originally using your method to correctly set them up. but essentially have remote levers moving the CH Quad. Inthe previous version of FSUIPC, I had problems with 2nd lever, as the values ere not correctly copied from THR 1., and gave different values. I am sure I have done something basically wrong, but am too dumb to figure out what it is.
  7. Pete, Thanks for the time to reply before your holiday. More specifically - I have the CH unit linked to throttle levers via rods. They have full movement. I calibrate using CH manager, and get OK results. Using FSUIPC, I calibrate the Throttle 1. Fully back (against the switches) I get a value of -16253. At idle (detente in CH) I get -13393, and at full, 16128 The 0 value appears at the midway point of travel. Previously, the value at idle was nearer 512. I have checked CH manager to make sure the axis is not labelled "centered", and with FS the same. I have calibrated succesfully the unit before using your method and documentation, and I am sure I have done something wrong this time, but can't figure out what it is. .
  8. Hi, I have installed FSUIPC 3.617 and find everything easier to calibrate, but still have a problem with my throttles and flaps, connected to CH Quad. Everything seems to work OK, but it appears the levers are centered, giving wrong readings to FSUIPC - ie reverse seems OK at -16350, but advancing the lever gives 0 at the centre point. and full throttle gives 16350, but is not giving the correct values to FS9. Any pointers would be appreciated,
  9. Pete, Sorry I should have been more specific - I mean FSUIPC 3.617, which has allowed me to finally configure my throttles etc, based on the CH Quad, plus a steering tiller, from the CH Yoke. I thought I saw something like PMStarup, but cant find it on the site. I guess the best bet is to reorganise all my files to have a WideFS folder, in one placeon each machine, rather than at present, where they are all over the place, including lots of things from the zip file which I don't need. but didn't realise at the time. My problem at the moment (this is for interest, rather than concern) is that I have an ERJ 145 sim, and am using PM Boeing CDU, MCP plus RJGC. and in the absence of a PM ERJ, am adapting from one to the other - i.e. I have a 5 pos flap lever, with real detents, but to make the PM software work better, am flying a 737 400, so FSUIPC correctly tells me I have 9 positions. hence, my flap lever doesn't work properly. I am sure will work it out, so in the meantime, thanks again for the help to get me to where I am. Regards,
  10. Pete, Thanks for solving all my problems with throttle, flap and spoilers in a fell swoop! I'm sure I still have a lot to learn, but installing the latest version today cured 99% of my previous problems. Q? Can you suggest a way I can organise my folders on different PCs to make the update process easier? I am running all PM programmes on 5 PCs, but I am a bit disorganised with pc names and folders, as I started bit by bit, and never really sorted out the best scheme. Thanks for your help, and brilliant programmes! http://www.paulsflightsim.com
