  1. Thanks to both Pete and William for posting replies. Regarding the AT arm control Pete asks me "Haven't you even tried it yet" Well yes, I have even tried it yet and it did not work. It works on the FSX default 747 but not on the PMDG 747 (which is why I specified the PMDG version in my original post). And i did know that the AT Arm control is a toggling control as I said initially that I wanted to toggle it using my yoke. I have solved the problem thanks to Williams suggestion. I allocated a keyboard assignment in the PMDG-menu to AT arm and then used FSUIPC4 to allocate a button on my flight yoke to send the keyboard assignment to FSX.
  2. I have been practicing aborted takeoffs on my PMDG 747-400. It would be a great help if I was able to toggle the autothrottle on and off using a toggle switch on my CH Products yoke instead of having to fiddle about with the mouse to deactivate the autothrottle before reducing the throttles to idle. I have tried to set up a switch using FSUIPC4 but can only see how to arm the autothrottle and activate TOGA. Any suggestions to solve my problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hello Pete, The way the GoFlight ATC module works is by using a single digit numerical LED display and a rotary knob that can be pressed. When the ATC menu appears on the screen ( giving options of 1 up to 9) the user rotates the knob which changes the number on LED display until the required number is displayed. The rotary knob is then pressed to send the number selected to FSX. This takes the place of pressing the required number on the keyboard. I'll try downloading the latest beta version of FSUIPC4 and let you know the result. Thanks for a great product. Phil McEvoy.
  4. I am trying to program my GoFlight ATC module in FSUIPC4 using the Buttons section. Whenever I press the rotary knob I get a joystick number and a button number but cannot tie in the button numbers with the 10 ATC module selections. I'm probably doing something stupid, it wouldn't be the first time, but I'd appreciate any suggestion. Thanks.
  5. Hi Pete, I've just installed the 4.09 version of FSUIPC4 and it has cured the EGT gauge problem. This will make flying the Cessna 172 so much better. Thanks for your help.
  6. Hi Pete, Thanks for your reply. I've been away for a few days which is why I didn't get back to you. Much of what you said goes right over my head but I think I get the gist of it. I'll use the version of FSUIPC you suggest and let you know the results. I feel that Simkits could do more for their users and cannot believe that they pay you nothing for the software that is required to use their product. I think FSUIPC is fantastic and your support is excellent. Thanks again. Phil McEvoy.
  7. Until recently I've been using FS2004, FSUIPC3 and Simkits gauges. I've now upgraded to FSX, FSUIPC4 and latest the Simkits software. All of the Simkits gauges work except for the Cessna EGT. I can calibrate it OK but as soon as I start the engine the needle moves straight up to maximum and will not reduce until thrust is reduced to idle. I've been in touch with Simkits support who replied : It seems that FSUIPC for FSX has an error, because the I/O towards FSUIPC 3.xx and 4.xx should not be different! I'll check with Peter Dowson. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email. Best Regards, Peter Brown, I did not hear from Peter Brown for a few weeks and emailed him. He emailed me back : I have not received an answer from Pete. However, it can only be an error in the FSUIPC, because for our software the side which "talks to us" should look the same as FSUIPC 3.xx. That's why FSUIPC 4 has been written. You might check with Pete directly. 8. I have recently installed FSX, the latest version of Wideview and updated FSUIPC to version 4. In order to use Wideview to update the weather on the clients the "Weather settings off" must be selected in FSUIPC options. However when I open FSUIPC, select this button and then click on OK Wideview will not update the weather on the clients. When I reopen FSUIPC to check on the settings "Default settings" button is selected. I'd appreciate it if anyone can suggest a reason why my selection is not being saved. Thanks.
  9. Thanks Jim and Pete for your advice. I think FSUIPC is great value for what it does and I'll be buying a key straight away.
  10. Pete, thanks for your rapid reply, I appreciate it. I'm still a beginner at this business and didn't explain properly. Section 11 of the Wideview manual says that wideview can syncronise the weather automatically but requires a registered version of FSUIPC on all the PC's. I'd like to know whether I can register a copy of FSUIPC and install it on all 5 PC's or if I have to pay for 5 registered copies. Thanks again.
  11. I have Wideview running on FS2004 using a server with 4 clients. I would like to syncronise the weather across all 5 PC's and understand that FSUIPC will do this. Do I have to register FSUIPC on all 5 PC's 5 for a total of 100 Euros or will 1 registration be OK. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.
