I have an odd problem that may just be the way the aircraft is designed. Once I turn on the auto pilot I engage LNAV, by hitting the NAV button. It will illuminate and fly FMS or NAV whatever I want. However if at any point I engage the fixed heading, so both HDG and NAV are illuminated, I can not go back to just NAV. Never, even if I disengage the AP and reengage, anytime I hit NAV it also illuminates HDG and the AP will only fly a fixed heading.
