  1. Hi John,

I'll report back later. At present I'm working with Zendesk over an issue with the sim which is causing a loading problem, not FSUIPC7/WideFS related. I have had to uninstall the sim, but it reinstalls another version, not from the boxed version that I have, which they find unusual.

So will look at FSUIPC7/WideFS again when this is resolved.

    Regards

    Martin

  2. John, is there any reason why the client PC remains with "Waiting for a Connection"? Is there anything in the log and ini files I sent last evening to suggest this?

    Regards

    Martin

  3. Yes, all correct now, thank you. The flying email address is now old.

On the client PC it stays as "Waiting for a Connection". PC with MSFS is loaded with a flight.

    Regards

    Martin

  4. John, Order Number: 1134938 it was a combined FSUIPC4 key and a WideFS key.

I updated to FSUIPC7 Order Number: 2524841, but I never had to update WideFS an worked with the older PC until the new one 2 weeks ago.

    Regards

    Martin

  5. Hi, I have for many years used FSUIPC4/7 and WideFS. Recently I have received a new PC and no issues with FSUIPC7, but My widefs key says it is not valid!!

I have cut and pasted the key. but to no avail.

Is there some way to make this happen?

    Regards

    Martin

  6. Hi John, sorry for the delay in responding, but I had my second brain procedure and not been too well for a while.

It turns out that what I thought was starting FS as normal, it was not! Let me try to explain!

On the desktop, and indeed via MS LinkedIn, it would (FS7) start but it didn't. It was only when I went to check in task manager and MSFS was running, but not FS7. Bizarre!

I checked the FS7 folder and all looked normal and MSFS and FS7 should work together, but it still doesn't. I downloaded FS7 and installed afresh, but I still have to start FS7 on its own.

    Any ideas?

  7. Hi, Not long out of hospital after brain surgery and my head is all over the place - so please forgive me as this is taking forever to write.

After all these years I have never had an issue like this which I couldn't resolve myself.

Yesterday I updated FSUIPC7 for the latest version and to be sure I did update WideFS as well.

I attach the WideClient.log for you.

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this!

Resolved - the WideFS changed to disable. Now enabled. That's a first that it has changed.

  8. Hi John, I don't understand, I haven't altered FSUIPC7 at all since compiling it for reverse thrust over a year ago. Ah! On a FSUIPC update it is quite possible that I didn't backup my ini file which had the configuration on it. I don't remember how to configure it and now don't have a long memory retention or attention span since my brain operation. It's a side effect of the op, and my surgeon has said the op needs to be repeated in the next 6 months.

I would need someone to set out instructions of what to do to set up FSUIPC7 again, as my mind is a blank right now.

    Thanks

    Martin

  9. The funny thing is that all was working well with being able to use the FBW, like I have been doing with other planes. Since they now use their EFB for calibrations, I've lost it.

To move on you will have read I can now simulate the reverse thrust, but the FBW doesn't move with the parking brake off, I had taken these two issues up with FBW support, but they say it is not a problem for them!

If I can get the plane to move, I would then see if reverse thrust does work. Having said that, I now cannot get any plane to reverse thrust, that has it. I set this up some time ago with FSUIPC4 and followed your instructions to transfer to FSUIPC7 and it had been working for 4, and 2 engine planes with no issues. Now I can't, so not sue if it is a SU5 issue.

If you want to see the .ini file, let me know and I will do it later, as I have a follow up at hospital today after my brain surgery

    Thanks

    Martin

  10. Hi John, Pete: I have FSUIPC7 set up for reverse thrust for all planes that have reverse thrust, with it being used since MSFS2020 came out. I don't use separate plane profiles for this and I am happy with it.

I have had long conversations with FBW's support on Discord about this and they say to use their guides etc. But their throttle calibration guide does not provide information on my Hotas Warthog. I can set it up as a normal throttle, no problem, but it cannot take into account the necessity to lift the throttle up and put it over the bar to activate reverse thrust, like it does for all other aircraft that has reverse thrust.

Can you help with this please?

    Thanks

  11. Hello John, sorry to trouble you but I've been left in an odd situation by MS.

With the last update, MSFS failed to install and the sim itself would not start. I followed very precise instructions from MS, which included as a last resort, uninstallation of MSFS. Well nothing prepared me for what followed - would not uninstall or install - I have the premium deluxe boxed version. By chance I happen to note that my PC clock was showing UTC (Zulu) time and not BST, although it had been. The update changed my clock time - this has now been confirmed by others.

My issue, when I corrected the clock, suddenly MSFS started to install and took 26 hours to do so! But I had no option as to where the first part went to, at that time. However, Once MSFS was in full swing I had the option to install the packages to my "D" drive. Now when I launch the sim, it does not launch FSUIPC7 and vice/versa. I still have the desktop icon for the MSFS/FSUIPC7 start, but it only starts MSFS.

The MSFS.bat is in the FSUIPC7 folder, attached but I expect something has to be updated, yes?

    Thanks

    Martin

  12. John/Pete, The installer worked and FSUIPC installed. The only hiccup was that during installation there were 2 different PDFs that it could not install and I pressed ignore with a successful installation of FSCUIP7. The PDFs I probably already have, whatever they are.

Launching MSFS did also launch FSUIPC7 and WideFS enabled correctly.

Sorry to have troubled you with this, but I think, as at now, anyway all seems to be functioning as it should.

    Thankyou

    Martin

  13. John, As I just placed the exe file in the FSUIPC7 folder, there was no installation process. The install log, attached, is dated 13/01/2021 in my folder and there is no other. There is no exe.xml file either! I have the Premium Deluxe Boxed with updates through MS Store.

In the FSUIPC7 toolbar, Options, the auto-connect to FS was ticked, as is Exit with FS.

Obviously there is something wrong with my installation
