On March 29 I purchased FSUIPC4 and installed it. As my FSX application opened I noted a window popped up asking if I wanted to run the application or not, I clicked on "Run This" or something to that effect. I entered FSX, found FSUIPC4, registered, etc. and all seemed fine.
Last night I downloaded v4.0.9 and installed it over the prior FSUIPC4. When I started FSX the blue "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" screen appears but then and only briefly a smaller window comes up - something with buttons to "Run" or "Don't Run" - it flashes for a fraction of a second, then disappears. And then the FSX program quits. All this taking only a few seconds to go through a complete cycle.
I do not seem to be fast or coordinated enough to click on the "Run" button when the window pops up - though I've tried. Then of course, it might be that even if I hit "Run" in time, the FSUIPC4 might be causing the crash.
If I pull all the FSUIPC4 files out of the FSX Modules directory, then FSX loads fine, just as it did with the prior version of the FSUIPC. I could not find the prior version to revert to on line.
I just had this PC built so that I could play FSX (XP Pro, several Intel Core2 Xeon Quad / Extreme CPU's with 8mb Cache - 16 processors, with two 1 Gig Nvidia Graphics Cards, 4 GB of DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz Ram, etc,.), or I may be doing something wrong. Please advise.
