  1. Would anyone know why I can't get FSNav to calculate a high altitude airway? When I ask to do this, I get a screen that tells me that I have to use navaid to navaid. I have been using this program since it first came out and never tried to use the high altitude airways.

    Thanks.

  2. Tim. I use the DC-9 in FsNav because it will plan my climb etc as close to the CRJ-200 that I can compare. If someone else knows a better aircraft or how to add the CRJ to the FsNav aircraft inventory that would be ok. When I use FSFT, it gives me the actual lbs. of fuel used based on the authors aircraft model file.

You can do the same thing by selecting the CRJ-200 from the aircraft menu in FS9 or FSX and loading the amount of fuel you would like onboard for your flight. Just write down the amount you start with and when you complete your flight and taxi to the gate and shutdown, go back to the fuel menu and subtract the amount of fuel you have left from what you started with and you will have the total fuel burn for the flight.

    Hope that helps you.

  3. Hi Tim. I never did send you anything on the CRJ. I did send you something to show you where to go in FsNav to find the fuel consumption for cruise, climb etc for other aircraft. However, you may just do a Google search using CRJ-200 specs and you will come up with all kinds of information on that aircraft. I use the DC-9 model in FsNav when I am flying the CRJ. As I told you before, I use FSFT to show me the exact fuel consumption for a flight. k

  4. I am not sure but I don't think that aircraft has the ability to have the speed controlled by the the A/P. I know it doesn't work with some other models I have flown. You may have to control the airspeed with the throttle manually.

  5. Well, I tryed that. I don't see how you can get FSX to fly the FP from FSNav unless you change headings etc from ATC. I would like to take off on a 10 hour flight and come back when I am close to my destination and take over to do the landing etc. I sure do miss FSNav for long flights. I like you, use the ATC for flights around 3-4 hours.

  6. Yes. You need that to work with FSFT. I have been using FSFT for a couple of years now. It is a great tool. Gives you all the information you need regarding your flight. I use it when flying with the VA I fly with. I am pretty sure it uses the information from the .air file for each aircraft to give you the correct fuel burn.

  7. Facts:

The present version FSNavigator 4.7 is not compatible with FSX.

FSNavigator version 5 is being developed, and is expected to be available mid-2007.

For owners of FSNavigator 4.x there will be no upgrade to version 5.

FSNavigator 5 will be introduced at a low price.
