  1. Mike take a look at SuperTrafficBoard I think that it has some features that you would fine very useful regarding deleting traffic automatically and intelligently when on approach and will also optimise traffic in other ways too. http://secure.simmarket.com/product_infts_id=3094
  2. Just to let you know Pete that the reverser on a separate axis works perfectly now, thanks.
  3. Oh that's fantastic news Peter, thank you very much for the tremendous support as always.
  4. I've seen the exact same thing happen in the Aerosoft Twin Otter, the throttles should go all the way back to -60% and they do if you use F2, but with throttle reverser set to a seperate Axis in FSUIPC it stops at -25% i think going from memory. I didn't bring it up before because i didn't realise it was possibly an FSUIPC issue.
  5. Yeah thats fine Pete, dont worry about it you have done more than enough already. Thanks for trying though.
  6. Shift-O does the exact same thing as holding the space bar down, except it toggles the action on and off so you don't have to hold the space bar down. It is assignable in FSX controls, but this is where it gets very confusing. Altogether under the list of controls for the Views section, there are 3 mouse look assignments that are all called exactly the same thing. 1. just shows the "space bar" assigned to it by default. 2. shows "SHIFT O" assigned to it. 3. shows "/\ Space bar" assigned to it. (/\ actually looks like an upside down letter v) Now if you delete any of the keys assigned to the above command by clicking on the delete key assignment button, and the same assignment doesn't also have a joystick button assigned to it, that assignable item disappears from the list completely never to be seen again until you click on the return to defaults button to reset all keys to default. I'm sorry it sounds so confusing but that's Microsoft for you.
  7. That sounds like a nice idea, there is another key combination you can use as well to toggle mouse look on and off: "SHIFT O" (not zero) if you could get the mousewheel trim to disable/enable on that key combo as well that would be great.
  8. Yes when you hold the space bar down to enter mouse look mode the mousewheel acts as a zoom device, thats one of the reasons why i asked you for the toggle option for the mousewheel trim option you added recently to FSUIPC. Thanks for that by the way it works fantastic.
  9. Make sure that you dont have "use mousewheel as elevator trim" ticked in the misc menu in FSUIPC and see if you still have problems.
  10. I've also come across this problem on 2 or may be 3 occasions over the last month or so. I thought it was a problem local to me, hence the reason i hadn't mentioned it before. I did find that ticking the variance box stopped it within 3 or 4 seconds of returning to the flight.
  11. Not sure if i'm grabbing the wrong end of the stick here (or should that be toe brakes :) ) But on my Saitek rudder pedals i have to tick the reverse box on the toe brakes axis in FSX otherwise when you press the pedals the brakes go off, and when you release the pedals the brakes come on. Andy.
  12. Ah that's an important point you failed to make clear.
  13. It should be in the "list of FSX controls.pdf" Yeah it is: 66696 RETRACT_FLOAT_SWITCH_DEC 66697 RETRACT_FLOAT_SWITCH_INC Andy.
  14. So why turn off windsmoothing below FL24 then, FSX makes a mess of the weather no matter what altitude you are at and Peters rendition of variance and turbulence is far better than that supplied by FSX.
  15. OK thanks Pete, have a great holiday you certainly deserve it. Regards, Andy.
  16. I've been thinking a little more about this, and earlier i neglected to think of the easiest way around this problem, i.e. just have a definable hot key to turn the mouse wheel elevator trim on and off at will  . Regards, Andy.
  17. Oops sorry Pete i forgot the cardinal rule of not mentioning which version of FSUIPC i mean. It's version 4 for FSX and i think that "mouse look" only works in FSX, i certainly don't remember it in FS9. Basically when you hold the space bar down in FSX movement of the mouse results it a smooth panning of the view similar to TrackIR but using the mouse to supply inputs instead of the ir tracking device and hat etc. The mouse is also used for changing many switches and knobs as well when you hover the mouse pointer over the relevant item and then scroll the mouse wheel, so maybe an option to define another key to make the mouse do its default function here as well would be good. i.e. i can hover the mouse pointer over the heading bug knob and scroll the mouse wheel to change the heading bug. So to summarise: 1. Hold space bar to revert mouse wheel to default zoom function. 2. Hold another defineable key to make mouse wheel perform default function on switch or dial etc. Oh and p.s. fantastic work on the wind variance/smoothing and turbulence emulation, its truly amazing now what you have done with FSX thanks Pete. Regards, Andy.
  18. Hi Pete great work on the new option to enable the mouse wheel to be used for elevator trim. I have a question though, would it be possible to disable this function when the space bar is held down, so that the mouse wheel can be used for its default action of zooming the view while in mouse look mode. I really do love to use the mouse wheel as elevator trim, but its also very handy for zooming in on guages and stuff when in the VC. Thanks, Andy.
  19. There is no axis movement in the red zone, the red zone just activates the button at the bottom of travel. It's a shame Saitek didn't think to make the red zone an active part of the axis as it would have been perfect for reverse thrust/feather etc. One thing though, currently the red zone is very small so it wouldn't have been much use even if it was active, it only has something like 5mm of travel. I cant remember the size exactly as i sent my Yoke back because it was one of the faulty products from the first few manufacturing runs with the phantom button press issue.
  20. LOL sorry Pete now i've read it all again you are correct it isn't any better than what you have in the manual already, although it did help me get my head around it all. Sorry for wasting your time i know you are very busy at the moment.
  21. I must admit i had a little trouble getting my head around it at first a few months ago, but when i read the above posted thread (2nd one) it made it much more clear. Maybe adding the example from that thread to the manual may help some folk in future.
  22. Sorry this post may explain things much better. viewtopic.php?=&p=374455
  23. This should help. viewtopic.php?f=54&t=67756&hilit=ShortAircraftNameOk
