  1. OK, seems as though the problem is still there. I have FSUIPC 4928 installed. I have found the cause and it seems to be SIOC for starting the 3 Open Cockpit Radios up. If I start the SIOC code up first, then I am unable to start FSX and the logfile for FSUIPC at one stage, ended up being 250 MB long when I then stopped the load.( sorry, did not keep it) I then stopped the SIOC from loading and went back to load just FSX and got the " detected problem with FSUIPC" but it then loaded ok. So for some reason if I start SIOC first I get the problem. If I start FSX and then start SIOC it would appear to be ok, but one never knows. I think I will try putting the Radios onto one of the other computers instead of the FSX computer. I have heard that it maybe better to start all extra programs first before starting FSX, but not sure if there is any truth to that. The only other program on the FSX computer is PM Sounds. Regards.........Brian W.
  2. Ok, thank you for all that information. Amazingly I went out at the start of the day and it all came up fine. As some have pointed out in the FAQ section, persistence seem to be the answer. The log had not been added as there was no connect at the first start-up, even though it stated , as above, that it had been installed. So it looks as though we are ok again. If I find any further developments, I will post them here. Cheers...........Brian W.
  3. As I stated "will not allow FSX to run " because obviously I clicked YES, but FSX will just sit there and not start. This was happening on multiple occasions. Brian W.
  4. I had a similar problem some time ago, but do not recall the fix for that particular time. I have just done a new install of Windows 7 64 bit on the flight simulator computer . No anti virus, no internet connection and disabled UAC. The Simulator was working fine for the last couple of weeks and yesterday it started this problem and will not allow FSX tto run due to FSUIPC. So I did a new install of the latest version 4.927a but the problem remains. 5. [Programs] Run1=CLOSE,C:\BAKUP-INSTALL\IOCards\iocard.exe Run2=CLOSE,C:\BAKUP-INSTALL\OVERCLOCK\pmFBW46\pmFBW.exe Well there it is !! That is precisely the answer I required in the first instance. I thank you. Why you took so long and printed so much insulting and useless diatribe I am unsure, but I have to admit that is the worst reply and the most insulting I have ever seen, to a question about software.. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers................ ........Brian W.
  6. I am a commercial pilot that just happened to have built a full-sized flight simulator (A320) so perhaps my understanding skills are somewhat limited, for which I apologise. I am referring to the following: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules..........FSUIPC4.ini.....: ............................................................................................................ [Programs] Run1=C:\BAKUP-INSTALL\IOCards\iocard.exe Run2=C:\BAKUP-INSTALL\OVERCLOCK\pmFBW46\pmFBW.exe ........................................................................................................... My simple question is, is it possible to turn these 2 programs off, in the ini file of the wideserver ( as opposed to similar things done in the wideclient ini files.) when FSX is closed down. OK the simple way of course, is to bloody-well turn them off individually by hand after I close FSX. Silly me !!!! .........................Brian W.
  7. [Programs] and can contain up to 16 requests to run other programs—up to 8 ―Run‖ parameters Run1 to Run8, and up to 8 ―RunIf‖ parameters, RunIf1 to RunIf8. Both sets are otherwise identical in format. The only difference is that the RunIf programs are not run if they appear to be already running. The ordinary ―Run‖ programs will be loaded without such checking. The format is simply: RunN=(Options,)<full pathname of program to be run> or RunIfN=(Options,)<full pathname of program to be run> where N runs from 1 to 8. Details of options are given below, but if none are required the parameter simplifies into just the full pathname. For example: Run1=D:\RadarContact\RCV4.exe might be used to run Radar Contact version 4. If the program needs command-line parameters these can be included by enclosing the whole value in quotes, so that the space(s) needed don't cause problems. You may also need to include the quotes if the pathname includes spaces. For example: Run2="c:\epic\loadepic fs98jet" The programs are loaded in order of the run number, 1–8. If a mixture of Run and RunIf parameters are given, the order is Run1, RunIf1, Run2, RunIf2, and so on. The Options you can use are as follows: HIDE tries to get the program to hide itself when it runs. This is only possible if the program defines its window to use default settings, so it isn‘t very useful for many programs, unfortunately. HIGH runs the program at higher priority than FS. Use with care! Messing about with priorities doesn‘t work well in all circumstances, and FSX may not like it much. CLOSE closes the program tidily (if possible) when FS is terminated. KILL forcibly terminates the program, if possible, when FS is terminated. LOW runs the program at IDLE priority. Depending on what the program does, this may actually effectively stop it until you direct user focus to it, as FS tends to soak up all Idle time. READY delays loading and running the program until FS is up and ready to fly, and FSUIPC4 can supply valid data through its IPC interface. (This parameter may, of course, result in the programs being run in a different order to that specified by the Run number). Of these really only CLOSE, KILL and READY are of general use. If you want to apply more than one option, list them separated by commas, but no spaces. For example: RunIf1=READY,KILL,D:\FS2002\WeatherSet.exe I do not see any statement of what you would place in The FSUIPC.INI file located in FSX Modules section which is I presume is called the WideServer section, to actually turn off the program in the main FSX computer when you actually terminate FSX. However I do see an example of what to add if you need to start a program. ............Brian W.
  8. In FSUIPC 4.6 ini I can start programs for FSX by inserting..... [Programs] Run1=C:\IOCards\IOcard.exe But I am at a loss to be able to actually turn the program off after I close FSX. Anyone able to help with an answer, it would be much appreciated. Regards............Brian W.
  9. Thank you for the reply. Now we know that FSUIPC 3 only supports 6 axis. Regards................Brian W.
  10. I am using a BU0836X joystick controller card for my throttles, rudder pedals, brakes, flaps and speed brakes. Using XP 64 bit on an i7 computer. All work perfectly in FS2004 with the latest FSUIPC 3966 except that it will not pick up the pot for the speed brakes. That control is working ok in the game controllers and it works ok in FSX with the same computer and the same connections, but will not show in FS2004 when I do a re-scan in axis assignment. Does anyone have an idea why FSUIPC would not allow that control to show. Regards..................Brian W.
  11. Well maybe I am a little thick in the brain department, but I have just spent days trying to work out how to set up the throttles in FSUIPC, without success. and I have read the latest FSUIPC: Application interfacing module for Microsoft Flight SimulatorFlight Simulator Universal Inter-Process Communicationby Pete Dowson, © 28th August 2009 pages 41 to 53 and am unable to find a step by step instruction of how to impliment the Airbus throttles and detents plus reverse thrust. So perhaps there is someone on this forum that has done this, that can help me out. It is completely frustrating that such a brilliant bit of software is so hard to get going. I guess that someone else should always write the instructions !! I am running brand new install of XP 64 bit, FS2004 and the only add-on is REX. Widefs and FSUIPC are up to date etc. I am also running Magenta for the full cockpit with 7 computers for the A320. Even trying to do a calibrate, I can enter the first figure in reverse ok, but then neither the idle or max will enter at all. Then trying to figure out the detents is another matter! So if anyone has a step by step, blow by blow method of doing this, I would certainly appreciate it. Regards...............Brian W.
  12. Thank you very much Pete. Don't know how I missed seeing that. Too much building sims I think is affecting my eyesight !! Regards.................Brian W.
  13. Is there any way of starting a program in the main FSX computer after FSX is started ? I need to start a program that starts up the Airbus Radios, but they need to be started up after FSX initialises. It of course is no problem using RunReady in the WideClient computers, so was wondering if it is possible to do something similar in the wideserver.ini. Regards...................Brian W.
  14. If you look at the instrument panel of the Airbus you will see what we call left and right glare wings. On the left is a button which switches off the joystick to the co-pilot and visa versa on the right side.So whoever wants to fly the aircraft pushes the priority button on the panel which disengages the other control stick. Ok, we probably do not need to go to this extreme, and I guess the main reason for disabling one stick, is that you do not slow roll when the co-pilot leans his beer on the other control stick !! Regards....................Brian W.
  15. Thanks Pete but I need to switch from one to the other, which is on the A320 panel. In other words one stick has the priority. Regards.................Brian W.
  16. One of the problems I have not solved yet, so perhaps someone may have some ideas as to the best way of using 2 joysticks in an A320 sim. Not sure how to switch between 2 USB sticks on one computer though. I was thinking of changing from the joystick I have at the moment, which is connected via the Simboards card, and using 2 usb sticks. I then have to connect one or the other with the 2 priority switches on the Airbus panel, and also get the switches to indicate which is in use with a led. Should have built a Boeing !! Any suggestions would be great..................regards, Brian W
  17. Well done Pete. It works perfectly, just with the kill switch. I was thinking that if I could use both so that the program was stopped before it was killed ! Congratulations, you have done it again. Many thanks. Kind regards............Brian W.
  18. Thanks Pete, I will try it this morning. Perhaps I could use the CloseReady as well, so that it shuts the program off first and then Kill it !! Sounds nice and drastic !! Will report back.....cheers. ......Brian W
  19. Thanks Pete, yes it closes ok with the X button, but I suspect as you say it will be a problem for the authors. Again many thanks. Regards.........Brian W.
  20. Gooday Pete....Is there any way I can get SimBoards to actually close. I have everything working great in the Wideclients, but the only one that I am not able to shutdown is Simboards. It will stop the program but when I re-start the flight sim, all programs re-start, and Simboards then starts up a second program.Here is the ini file: [Config] ButtonScanInterval=20 ClassInstance=0 NetworkTiming=5,1 MailslotTiming=2000,1000 PollInterval=2000 Port=8002 Port2=9002 ResponseTime=18 ApplicationDelay=0 TCPcoalesce=No WaitForNewData=500 MaxSendQ=100 OnMaxSendQ=Log NewSendScanTime=50 Priority=3,1,2 Window=379,455,593,489 [user] RunReady1=C:\Program Files\IOCards\iocard.exe CloseReady1=Yes DelayReady1=50 RunReady2=C:\Program Files\SIM-board Universal Controller\SIMboards.exe CloseReady2=Yes AllowShutdown=App Any thoughts.........Kind regards...........Brian W.
  21. Thanks Pete.........It is trouble with my programming IOCards that seems to be the problem. Back to the docs. Brian W.
  22. I do not seem to be able to get offset 3122-6 to operate the audio for Com 2 in FS9. All the other audios work ok, Both, Nav1 Nav2 etc. using 3122- 0 to 5. Can anyone confirm or help on this one? Regards.....................Brian W
