  1. Thanks for the tips, Pete. I was running FSUIPC 4.09, so I updated to 4.537. That surely helped, plus I installed TrafficLook, and set TCASid=Model. So, Plan-G is displaying all AI aircraft data now. - Jeff Schallenberg Mont Saint Hilaire, Québec
  2. I am using FSUIPC 4 to connect FSX to Plan-G (http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/), a freeware flight planner and moving-map application. Plan-G includes the display of AI aircraft icons, and when clicked, a dropdown is supposed to show the aircraft type as well as the altitude, ground speed and heading. On my installation of Plan-G, only the altitude, groundspeed and heading are visible. I have set TCASid=Type, but type is not displayed in Plan-G. All other data are displaying normally from FSX to Plan-G via FSUIPC 4. Is there something I am missing? - Jeff Schallenberg Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec
  3. That did the trick! Specifying the protocol and the server name causes Wide Client to immediately connect to FSUIPC4 server. Thanks again!
  4. Thank you for those tips, Peter. I will try them, and I will then try forwarding the ports 8002 and 9002 for TCP an UDP in my wireless router. I will keep you posted on any discoveries...
  5. Thanks, Peter. Actually, my pair of PCs actually do eventually connect - it's just awfully slow - 5 minutes or more. And the WiFi signal level on the client PC is very high. Is there anything that would tend to slow down the connection startup? Once it's started, the connection works fine - no slowdowns or dropouts. Hmmm...
  6. I don't know why it worked yesterday, and not today - I haven't changed anything on either the desktop FSUIPC4 machine or the laptop Wideclient machine. WideClient just says it is waiting for a connection, even though FSX is running and WideFS is enabled, GPSOut is sent to WideFS on ports 8002 and 9002. How can I troubleshoot the connection? I use Windows Firewall, but nothing else that would block the ports. Is there some port-scanning or other TCP/IP utility I could use to test the connection?
  7. Thank you for your kind attention, Peter. All is installed and registered now, and I am running Flight Sim Commander as a Moving Map on my laptop PC while FSX runs full-screen on my desktop PC. - Jeff
  8. I have purchased WideFS 7, and received my registration key by email. When I enter the key into FSUIPC4, it is rejected as not being a valid 12-character key. I notice that the email field in the registration window is my *old* email address (jschall@sympatico.ca), while the email address associated with the key is my *new* email address. I tried to edit the email address in the dialog box, but it won't change :-( What can I do? - Jeff
  9. Some Windows programs are SO OLD that the Version tab does not show up in the Explorer Properties dialog box! But here's what I can glean from the .ini and license.txt files contained in the .zip file: The EXE name is: fsflightmax_nosgeo_viewer.exe The product name is: FSFlightMax NOS/GEO Chart Viewer and the company WAS: Copyright © 2002 Sim Systems Pty Ltd I will also send this information to your email as you requested. Thanks again! - Jeff
  10. This program, FSFlightMax NOS/GEO Chart Viewer, is an OLD one from John Hnidec. It is intended for owners of the formerly-payware program FSFlightMax, which was released by SimSystems to the freeware domain back in 2003. The program works for reading AeroPlanner NOS/GEO charts, but when one tries to connect to Flight Simulator for the aircraft position, the formerly-freeware FSUIPC looks for a licence key. Would it be possible to provide a key for the fsflightmax_nosgeo_viewer.exe program, to accompany the keys you have provided for FSGarmin and FSFlightMax from the same developer (Simsystems)? Thank you, Pete - Jeff
  11. TCASid=Model worked fine. It takes the value of atc_model= from the aircraft.cfg file, which I can edit to whatever I like to see on the Moving Map. Thanks again, Peter! - Jeff
  12. Thank you for the tips, Peter. I will try them out, as well as RTFM! - Jeff
  13. :?: When I enter TCASID=Type into FSUIPC.INI, it only returns the Manufacturer, e.g., de Havilland, rather than the actual Type, e.g., DHC-6. I am trying to use this function of FSUIPC in Rana Hossain's Flight Sim Manager Moving Map (FSMMM) application. In FSMMM's kneeboard window, the AI aircraft appear as icons around the user aircraft, and if you hover the mouse over an AI icon, a tooltip shows the TCASID as well as (optionally): $LAT$ AI aircraft Latitude $LON$ AI aircraft Longitude $HDG$ Current Heading $ALTITUDE$ Current Altitude $VS$ Current Vertical Speed in feet/m. Note: if the aircraft is on runway, it may still show a Vertical Speed $GS$ Current Ground Speed in knots $DU$ Distance to User aircraft in Meter (or in Km) $STATUS$ Current Aircraft Status Is there any way of feeding the AI aircraft model rather than manufacturer from FS to FSMMM? - Jeff
