All,,,
I have been having issues getting WideFS 6. 78 to connect/communicate under Windows XP. I know it is related to the client-side XP default firewall, as all is fine when the firewall has been turned off.
I have a firewall exception in place on the client side for the WideClient program, but that doesn't seem to work. Additionally, I have tried setting exceptions opening port 8002 for both TCP & UDP, pointing to the IP address of the server. Sadly, things just don't seem to connect.
I'd prefer to avoid having to shut down the firewall, and then hope I remember to turn it back on. If so, I'm back running with the firewall off, and then who knows which of the many bad things can happen at that point.
Any help would surely be appreciated. Thanks !
Mike
