  1. Hi, I was unhappy with the centering aspects of my CH yoke and used rubber bands connected to the central control post inside the unit fixed to the the units casing with small cable ties. This has given me a totally adjustable feel and a better centre to work with. I appreciate you are talking a software fix to the feel of the control but for yoke users this is a good place to start. It has been very successful for me anyway. Regards David
  2. Pete, thank you for your reply. I am going to try all suggestions and report back. I believe I read you could not have the GF control in the same folder ? I will try and find where that was. The unit is the older version LGT 1. Thanks again one learns a little each day David
  3. Hi, I am a relative newbie and am having trouble with a less than smooth Elevator trim using the Go Flight Gear / flap trim module. I would like to try using FSUIPC and see if it will be more reliable and smoother. Can you advise the best way to go, Is a mouse macro ? I note that if using FSUIPC you need to disable the Go Flight controller, does this mean you have to elect to do all GF Modules thru FSUIPC ( for instance with the Gear /trim unit can I just process the trim or all that module or all GF Modules that are in the circuit? I have now transferred all other actions from FSX to FSUIPC As an aside ca you tell me what FSUIPC SDK is please. Thank you David Windows 7 /64 bit i7 4 core TH/Tgo
  4. Hi, newbie here with a question which maybe obvious to some but I am not sure. I have downloaded the update for FSUIPC 4.53 being 4.558. I have placed the exe file and the pdf in the FSUIPC folder in the modules folder. There are now two .ini files in this folder. One from the update and the previous one. I have not run FSX as I am not sure what to do next. I assume you cannot have two ini file or the program wont know which one to use. If I ditch the old one what happens to my settings? So what to do please. Thank you Regards David
  5. Hi I am a relative newbie with the higher end of this hobby and have read many times the flap settings page for PM in respect of the CRJ700 default aircraft and still cant get it right. I was wondering if anyone can help with the settings for this aircrafts flap so they appear correctly in the PM RJ panel. I cannot see any reference to the leading edge slats and also the flaps require two quick clicks on the Go Flight GF LGT panel switch to set them. At present I have two settings 8 and 20 but no reference to the slats at all. Any help welcome Thank you David
  6. Pete, here is the developers page for the X keys unit. http://www.xkeys.com/developer/hidusb.php I have tried programming a key to give a message and it is seen clearly in wordpad. I am trying to work out how I can access FSUIPC in a similar way. Yes its a keyboard board but to my mind a clear and uncluttered one that if usable I would like to make use of. Thanks for your help here David
  7. Peter, having gotten the network to work with Wide Fs and FS client I am turning my attention to a keyboard of USB keys. I believe this might work as an extra key specific addition to the system and need some guidance please. I have tried to work it through FSUIPC as key presses and buttons but to no avail. I suspect there is an interface missing ? The product is called X keys by Macroworks and I am hoping it could be useful to my system. Any help much appreciated Regards David
  8. Hi Peter, I am attempting to setup a network with my old computer running XP Home. i have cleaned it out of all old programes so it will run as efficiently as possible. I am not familiar with setting up a network as this is the first time but seem to have it running between my new ALPINEPC and DAVIDSHUTTLE ( the old computer. Alpine is running 64 bit Vista Home. I want to have Peix gauges running on a secondary screen from the Xp machine and have put the G Panel porgrame in the shared folder of the XP ( it was not seen on the ALPINEPC when in the prog folder so I moved it to the shared doc folder and it appears on the network via the ALPINEPC. I have run FSX and the Panel on the Xp machine but FSX shows a message of "waaaaiting for client". The XP machine says "Unable to link to FSUIPC or Wideclient" and the gauges on the XP machine show but are dead. I did read a post regarding the licenece date and noticed for some reason my ALPINPC had changed its date, so I altered this and re ran FSX . The log shows the date to be fine but unable to connect becasue of protocol error. Can you help please as I feel I have almost gotten ther but cant reach the line! It happens when you get older too! 9. Peter, I apologise and have registered it. However for idiots like me the words "Download FSUIPC again and use the installer which will give the option of various registration types" would be very useful as I was looking in the existing downloaded files. I know it sounds pedantic but when you are a novice you need all the help you can get. Regards David
  10. Peter, I am following a path of using Peix aviation panels and Flight Commander for maps. I have purchase Wide FS& but have spent two hours trying to register it. I run FSX and FSUIPC and click register but it tells me to use the installer. I cannot find this in the FSUIPC folder ( or anything which will allow registration) Can you assist me please ? Thank you David
  11. Peter, thank you for your time and advice. Oh and a great programme FSUPIC ! RegaRDS David
  12. Hi, I am a 4 year use of FS in a limited way (ie difficult approaches and the like) and am used to 2D gauge displays which are easy to use on a separate screen. I am now the proud owner of a new and very powerful system with triple screens etc etc and am loving it but miss my easy to read gauges. My present system uses Vista 64 bit Premium and a high end card. the old one a single 3 mghz chip clocked to 3.3 which worked well for a 17" screen using Window XP home. I am told that I can network the old and the new computers and run Project Magenta which will give me the gauges on their own screen (2D or 3D as the separate windows available when using the high end system with virtual cockpit. My aim is to achieve the 3 screen virtual cockpit I have now plus a moving map and flight plan on the fourth screen ( 2nd outlet of the main system card) and the second system networked to give me high def. gauges for easy navigation plus ? ( will it run a further screen from the second card outlet number two? What do I need from Project Magenta to do this ? Is it best to use Wide FS and the original FSX prog running on the main computer? Are the gauges 2D/3D and in fact is my understanding oof "P.M" that it will do the above. All help greatly appreciated and the simpler the better. Regards David
