I have one more question. I use the CH Throttle Quadrant with the Throttle Clips so it basically takes 2 throttle levers and makes it one lever, I have my last two levers as my buttons to make it trigger the reverse. So I have throttle 1 and 2 set up with your method. I want to set this up for the PMDG 747X using the same method but to work with all 4 engines.
I have 2 questions on this one.
1- Is there a way I can leave my clips on there and map say throttle 1 to control throttle 1 and 2? and throttle 2 to control 3 and 4?
2- If I can do the above, when I select the button portion to toggle to reverse can the parameters be 1 and 2 or am I allowed just one engine in that setting?
If I cant do the above then I can just add engine 3 and 4 to my levers and take off the clips but how do I add this to your txt file? Do I just tkae the below and take out #1 and put #3 and so on?

it is working now, I think I might of had pressed the wrong LUA function on the button and switches. Appreciate your help, great tool.

it is names lua, i double checked that.
so should the 1=LUA ThrottleManager be under the [LuaFiles] or I should make [Auto] up and place it there?

in the throttle manager do I need to change anything in that before saving it to a lua file? Like engine numbers?
For the recap, this is what I did...
1- Opened up FSUIPC.INI and put a new line [Auto] 1=LUA ThrottleManager
2- Set up control axis for engine #1 per directions listed above
3- Save throttlemanager.txt as a lua.file

ok, if that is all I do then it is not engaging the reverse thrust. I use the ch throttle quad. I tried using the detent below idle as the button and another separate button to engage reverse. I will play around with it, maybe I have something saved wrong.

when you say "N" I am assuming that is the engine number?
If that is the case I followed the instructions to the best of my ability, I got the joystick and axises set, button and switch set. What is the next step? When I bring my throttle lever down to the button stage and move it back up no reverse occurs.
The configuration section, is that something I am to place somewhere?

got the throttle manager now. didnt save the file to an LUA file!

just place the throttleManager txt file in the fsx/modules folder? I am sorry, but when it comes to computers I am not the brightess!
After all that I still do not see anything in the drop down menu on button and switches for the lua throttle manager.
In the fsuipc.ini file, I just basically added at the end the following....
[auto]
1=LuaToggle ThrottleManager
I have nothing else in the ini,file. Should I be putting all the text in the throttlemanager here?

trying to do this now.
If I understand correctly, I open my fsuipc.ini file, I place at the end of the notepad [auto] and then under that 1=LUA ThrottleManager. Is this all I need to do in the ini file? The rest I set up in the fsx modules section of FSUIPC?
When I go through the setup and into fsx and set axies and joysticks when I get to button and switches I dont see LUA ThrottleManager as an option.

I like this idea but what is a LUA file, sorry not familiar with that. Is this a file that goes in the fsuipc folders?

If you do decide to follow the option of using "Decrease throttle fast" with repeat to get reverse thrust, in my experience, it's worth setting the "On release" option to be "Throttle Idle" as well, because FSX sometimes doesn't seem to see the throttle moving out of the reverse detent until you are actually applying quite a lot of forward thrust instead. It seems to be an FSX thing rather than the throttle quad itself, because a similar arrangement works fine on other sims.
By setting the "on release" function to be F1, the moment you move the throttle(s) out of the reverse detent, the engine is returned to idle thrust and then recognises forward movement correctly.

To set this option should everything be down under the button and key section? I calibrated my throttle axis under page 3 but with no reverse zone and then went to buttons and keys section selected a button and placed it in the drop down box "control sent when button pressed" and selected "Throttle # Decr" and selected the check box "control to repeat while held"
Would you set it up differently?

Well you should -- if the throttle axis IN value reaches -16123 or less then the OUT will be sufficient to get full reverse as specified in the Aircraft.CFG file -- usually -4096 or 25%. What does the OUT value show in the calibration tab when the IN value is -16123 or less?
Yes, you can do that if you prefer. As I said, that is generally how folks use the Saitek throttles.

Well, when I have my throttle full aft which is in the reverse range the values under the reset button are.... IN -16384 and OUT -4096. When I go in full reverse it doesnt give me full reverse, sometimes it will give me some and others nothing. The light shows up above N1 stating the rev is open but N1 doesnt increase.

the ch throttle quadrant has a detent in the throttle axis.
I guess I am not coming across clearly so let me try this again.
I set my throttle quadrant with the axis assignment in FSUIPC to send to FS as a normal axis so I can have my set up the same for PMDG, LDS and Wilco.
The top box in this section shows the following values....
Delta- 256
In (when thorrle full forward) 16,383, out 16128 (these are what my system gives so if this is perfect, I have perfect!)
Throttle full aft, In= -16384, out= -16384
I have the check box to select "Axis Throttle# set
After I set each of the 4 throttle quadrants I go to the Joystick Calibration and go to page 3.
This is what I have under Throttle 1 Section
Throttle 1------Reverse--------Idle---------Max
Reset-----------(-16,123)---(-15,213)---15,104 Now the max and reverse numbers were achieved by not placing my throttle full forward or full aft, I moved it away.
---------------------------------(-14,433)
None of the check boxes are checked, filter, rev, exclude throttlen_set.
My problem still exists, moving the throttle full forward works perfect, when I get to put the throttle fully aft I do not get full reverse thrust on the aircraft.
Maybe this is just not possible to get full reverse with CH Throttle Quadrant, my suggestion was then if I set up my throttle quadrant to just be idle to full thrust there is a button under each throttle lever, you can click it up or down, if I can just click it down and that triggers F2 for full reverse if repeated.

Thanks for the response Pete but when I place my thorrtle 1 level in the detent area I get a range of IN=-14,432 and OUT=0. All 4 throttles rand from -14,432 to -1,056.
I tried placing the throttle away from full ranges to calibrate this way but my problem still doesn't get full reverse. If I set the idle higher to get the full reverse my idle is not in the detents.
Is there a way I can keep my axis the way it is for full throttle where the detent will be idle and then when I go behind the detent I can trigger a button (F2) for full reverse?

I have read the manual and research a few older posts on the CH help in this forum. I am on FSX, FSUIPC 4.749e and fly mainly PMDG NGX and other comemrcial jets for my set up. Here is my problem.
- I set up all my throttle axis in the axis assignment and click on "send direct to FSUIPC Calibration" "throttle 1"
- All my joysticks are disabled in FSX
- When I go to the joystick calibration page 3 I have set up my values according to the manual, here are how they are set for throttle 1
Reverse- -16384, idle -14,432 & -13,522 and max at 16383
The idle numbers are where my detent is, some of the pdf examples show closer to 0 and positive numbers but on my quadrant that is about 1/2 way on full throttle.
My problem is when I get to the detent and try to go to full reverse the engines do not spool up in 100% full reverse, they only go in about 40% if that and not the same every time.
I have 2 questions
1- How do I get full reverse with the levers all the way back?
2- When I set up my axis assignment what is the difference in going with "Direct to FSUIPC Calibration" over "Send FS as a normal axis"? Reason I ask is that for the Wilco Buses they like seeing the "Axis Throttle# Set" which is not available in "Direct to FSUIPC Calibration" This is just out of curosity.

Was going to updgrade from version 3 to version 4 to use with FSX. I noticed there is an option for people that have purchased version 3 after July 1st 2007 that they get a discounted price, why not for people that purchased version 3 prior to that date.

just so you know my rudder contol is on my joystick, it is the twisting of it that controls it. I have the logitech 3d pro, no rudder pedals.

well maybe that is true, I do not understand the FSUIPC, for that matter I do not know much about computers, but regardless I went through your user guide, which again is not the clearest for me, might be for others.
When I turnmy rudder control left or right, I do get those max amounts. My mian questions was everytime my rudder is neutral, not being touched, the value is always something different, or if I dont touch it at all it goes up and down.
I will go through your user guide again to see if I have better results.

also when i reset the rudder portion and touch my controller base not the twisting the values do move.

I load up today and now it pulls to the right.
My rudder In and out are the following, 2271, -1304 respectivly. Min -16380, centre 3883 (out centre) 3883, max 16380.
rudder trim is set to zero, so is aielron, throttles go up together.
Could it be certain drivers out of place with my controller? really weird.

I am having problems calibrating my Logitech 3D Pro.
On the ground my plane constantly turns to the left. I read the directions that come with FSUIPC, I set my sensitivity to max, null to zero and calibrated the joystick under the FSUIPC area to do this. Here are my values
Rudder MIN CENTRE MAX
2272 IN -16380 3883 16380
0 Out
For some reason this wont get to zero, any ideas?

You are right, the clip just physically connects two throttle levers. I will use your manager and just take the clip off when flying a 4 engine jet to make it work with 4 different axises.
