  1. Hi Pete, I think the problem is fixed. I went to the properties of the Flight Simulator X files and it shows that it is shared as \\MES-ASUS-GM\Flight Simulator X Files. I changed the sharing to not shared. I brought up IYP and then FSX. I loaded both PLNs and FLTs. The PLN was shown in the GPS and the FLT information was in the ACARS window. One minor problem. It does not seem to be showing the correct aircraft in the ACARS window. I will work that as a separate issue for now. Thanks for the help. That was pretty simple for me fix. I wish all my problems were that easy to fix. Mike This is what the FSUIPC4.log looks like now that I have removed the sharing on the Flight Simulator X Files folder. ********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.60a by Pete Dowson ********* Reading options from "E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\FSUIPC4.ini" Trying to connect to SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 ... 2. Hi Pete, I have the registered version of FSUIPC4 (4.60a) and WideFS7. It appears that somehow FSUIPC4 is getting the incorrect path to where my flight plans (PLN) and FLT files are stored. IYP cannot find the file needed to load the ACARS with the FLT data. Working with Robert at IYP, he showed me that the path is incorrect. We ran the logging function from the FSUIPC Options and Settings panel, ensuring that both Normal log file and Debug String are checked. The offset we monitored was 3F04 (AsciiZ). This is apparently where IYP checks to find the path to the FLT file. Below is an excerpt near the end of the file from FSUIPC4.log. 449236 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 117 secs = 35.0 fps 454010 C:\Users\Mike\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\IFR City Of Colorado Springs Mun to Denver Intl.PLN 517924 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 48 secs = 41.3 fps 577953 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 43.9 fps 638013 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 45.6 fps 698058 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 48.4 fps 758118 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 44.2 fps 818163 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 50.1 fps 878208 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 51.1 fps 938284 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 51.9 fps 998298 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 51.9 fps 1058374 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 51.9 fps 1118403 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 51.7 fps 1178448 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 52.2 fps 1238523 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 52.5 fps 1298568 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 52.5 fps 1358660 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 52.7 fps 1418658 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 52.1 fps 1471854 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 53 secs = 51.6 fps 1539044 Monitor IPC:3F04 (AsciiZ) = [54]"\\MES-ASUS-GM\Flight Simulator X" 1598808 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 60 secs = 42.4 fps 1653237 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 54 secs = 51.4 fps The second line down from the top (454010) shows the correct path to my Microsoft Flight Simulator X files. The third line from the bottom (1539044) shows the monitored IPC and offset, where IYP finds the path to the FLT file. My computer name is: \\MES-ASUS-GM It seems that the third line from the bottom should read instead of what is shown above, the following: "1539044 Monitor IPC:3F04 (AsciiZ) = [54]"\\MES-ASUS-GM\users\Mike\Documents\Flight Simulator X files" In other words, the "users\Mike\Documents" is missing between \\MES-ASUS-GM\ and \Flight Simulator X Files I do not know if somehow I changed this or if it has been like this for some time, or if when I installed FSUIPC4, that somehow I put in the wrong path to Flight Simulator X files. Robert seems to think that maybe it is a network path or a drive that has been networked causing the problem. I am running FSX, FSUIPC4, and IYP all on the same computer, albeit, I believe IYP is on the C: drive and FSX and FSUIPC are on the E: drive. I would not be surprised at all if the Speech Recognition program in Win 7 may have been on while I was editing FSUIPC4.ini for my Yoke Buttons, and I said something to delete part of a line of text. I have in the past run IYP on a separate computer using WideFS7 as the communications link, but not recently. Could this have caused this problem? What do you suggest I do to fix the problem? I hope I have provided enough information. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions, Mike
  3. Hi Pete, Well I made some changes to the button section of the ini file as shown here: [buttons] ButtonRepeat=20,2 InitialButton=Y,0,C1115,0 ; IYP Listen On - doesnt have effect - no value EliminateTransients=No 1=RY,0,C1115,0 ; IYP Listen On - must be RY 2=UY,0,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off 3=PY,1,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off - no diff RY - no value 4=PY,1,C1117,0 ; IYP ComeFly Active 5=RY,1,K16,9 6=UY,1,C1118,0 ; IYP ComeFly Inactve 7=UY,1,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off I added an InitialButton to get IYP Listen On, but it does not seem to have any effect. I was hoping it would eliminate the need for the RY on 1= so I could make it PY,0. I think I could take it out without any effect. I can not get IYP to listen with 1=PY,0,C1115,0. It does not respond at all. I don't know if this is because I have IYP and FSX both on the same system or not. I might try IYP on a laptop using WideFS to see if that makes a difference. For now I will leave it as 1=RY,0,C1115,0. 2=UY,0,C1116,0 seems to work fine, responds quickly, doesn't seem to have a delay as a result of 1=RY,0,... I'll have to speak to Robert about this delay. My implementation, 3=PY,1, below... 3=PY,1 doesn't seem to have any effect. If I release button Y,1 too quickly after speaking a command to TS2, IYP responds. If I add a manual delay by keeping Y,1 held about a 1/2 second longer before releasing it, IYP does not respond. 4 - 6= seem to work fine as far as getting button Y,1 to open a channel with TS2. So the challenge remains for now. I will just keep button Y,1 held about 1/2 second longer to ensure IYP does not respond to something I said inadvertently while speaking on TS2. I really think that IYP is listening even with the shift key (5=RY,1,K16,9) held down while talking on TS2. I cannot duplicate this problem by pressing the Keyboard Shift key, saying a command, and releasing the Keyboard Shift key quickly. It seems that 5=RY,1,K16,9 is not really the same as holding down the shift key on the keyboard. Is there some DLL that looks at the keyboard shift key and turns off IYP Listen while the shift key is held down for TS2 communications? 7=UY,1, it seems to keep IYP from listening after releasing Y,1 until Y,0 is pressed again. Do you forsee any problems if I remove the InitialButton line and the 3= line? I think you are speaking about the FSUIPC4 controls 1001 and 1002? I'm not sure how to implement this or if they would even work with/for TeamSpeak2. I'll have to research this for myself. Thanks, Mike
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to try this out later tonight. Right now I have a spouse request that is taking a higher priority than my mic buttons. I'll let you know how it work out. Thanks again, Mike
  5. Hi Peter. I am having a problem programming two mic buttons on my Saitek yoke. I want to use button 0 (Y,0) to speak to IYP and button 1 (Y,1) to speak on TeamSpeak2 (TS2). The problem seems to occur when the last thing I say is a command that IYP recognizes while speaking on TS2 and then immediately release button Y,1. In this case, IYP responds to the last command I said, even though I was speaking on TS2 (Y,1). If I held the Y,1 button about 1/2 to 1 second longer after saying the command on TS2, nothing would happen. IYP would not recognize that I said a command. Button Y,0 seems to work fine for issuing commands to IYP and responding to IYP requests. After releasing button Y,0, I can say a command and IYP does not respond. That is just what I want. It just seems that IYP should not be listening or responding to anything said while holding down the Y,1 button and speaking on TS2. I have a feeling this problem is related to the a flag not being set or not being in the same condition as it was as when I release button Y,0. I'm just not sure how to program this. I am using Windows 7 and its Speech Recognition program. I have included the [buttons] portion of the FSUIPC4.ini file below. Entries 2= and 4= apply to button Y,0. Entries 1=, 3=, 5, 6, & 7= all are for button Y,1. I have TS2 setup to recognize the shift key to speak on TS2. [buttons] ButtonRepeat=20,2 EliminateTransients=No 1=RY,1,C1117,0 ; IYP ComeFly Active 2=RY,0,C1115,0 ; IYP Listen On 3=UY,1,C1118,0 ; IYP ComeFly Inactve 4=UY,0,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off 5=RY,1,K16,9 6=RY,1,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off 7=UY,1,C1116,0 ; IYP Listen Off [AutoSave] AutoSaveEnabled=Yes ..... Thanks in advance for any help or advice. Mike
  6. Pete, Thank you for the quick reply. I'll be sure to update today to ver 4.6. I'm glad to hear that my problem is not with WideFS. It is staying connected even after IYP terminates when IYP can not read the aircraft CFG file. I should have realized that the 1001:5 msg was from IYP when WideFS stayed connected even after IYP terminated. I've never had an error msg before from IYP. I will go their forum for help on this. You are right, they do have an excellent support forum too. I think you are right about the file sharing. Win7 to XP comms is not on my resume, that is for sure. I'm supposed to get a call today from MS XP networking people about networking Win7 and XP. FSX is installed on a separate drive (E:) from the operating system drive (C:). This is just poor directory naming on my part, trying to emulate what happens to programs loaded on the C: drive. I don't know if I can correct this without uninstalling and then reinstalling FSX. Thanks again for your support and advice. I think your reply has eliminated WideFS, and my work with Norton 360, as possible culprets to my problem. That basically just leaves Win7 to XP comms and IYP. I really "feel" this is a sharing problem between Win7 and XP but I'll talk to the IYP forum and see if they have discovered something on this problem before. Best regards, Mike
  7. Hi, This is my first post and hopefully I'll never have another problem that I can't find an answer to already here in the forum. I found a couple of related issues but not a close enough match to what I'm experiencing. I guess I ought to run down the systems I'm running as that will probably shorten the resoluton time. I have three systems hardwired to a fast ethernet switch; switch connected to the internet thru a router to a cable modem. All three systems communicate with the internet. I'll refer to these as systems 3, 5 and 7 (refers to last digit of IP address). Sys 7 is running Win 7 along with FSX and registered FSUIPC4 & WideFS ver 4.57 as well as Norton 360.. Sys 5 runs Win XP 2002 Home Ed w/SP3., WideFS and FSCommander; and an old version of Norton Corporate AV. (no problems on Sys 5 that I can tell). Sys 3 is running Win XP 2002 Media Center Ed w/SP3; Norton 360; WideFS and Its Your Plane (IYP). Sys 7 has the system files on the C drv and FSX on E drv. There seems to be a problem (I think with Win7, maybe a sharing problem) allowing WideFS Client and Server to communicate. More specifically, I get the error 1001:5 shortly after IYP starts. The error msg says it occured while trying to read the aircraft CFG file. After pressing OK, the client program (IYP) closes. On Sys 3, I start WideFS and it connects almost immediately to FSX. IYP is started next and seems to be running up until it tries to get the aircraft CFG. The aircraft CFG file exists along this path on Sys 7- FLTSIM (E:)\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\aircraft name\aircraft.cfg. I have tried to share the Microsoft Flight Simulator X directory and it says it is shared. When I look at My Network Places on Sys 5, it shows a place for "Microsoft Flight Simulator X on Sys7". When I try to open this place from Sys 5 I get an access denied msg. There is also a place for "Flight Simulator X files on Sys 7" (My Documents on Sys 7). This I can open from Sys 5 and see all the Autosave files from FSUIPC and PLNs, FLTs, WX, etc. I have completely removed Norton 360 from both Sys 7 and Sys 5 and tried to connect with same results; msg on Sys 5 error 1001:5 while trying to read aircraft CFG. After reinstalling Norton 360 on both Sys 5 and 7, Norton establishes rules for FSX on Sys 7 and WideFS and IYP on Sys 5 when I try to connect them with WideFS. This makes me think the Norton 360 is not the problem. I am at a loss as what to do or look at next. Please let me know what you need from me and I'll supply it as fast as I can. Thank you.
