  1. Hi Alex, Well, things have gotten stranger and stranger. As I previously mentioned, I uninstalled the ERJ until there was a definite fix. The other planes that were affected have been behaving ok with the exception of the QW 787. In that plane the flashing lights had stopped that behavior but one of the problems that remained was that the scratch pad of the RH CDU had a string of V's and W's that looked like this: VWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW and I could not get rid of them no matter what I did. Even did a uninstall and reinstall. So in essence, the RH CDU was useless. Now here is the strange part. I recently purchased the A2A Accufeel program and installed it. As soon as I did, the QW 787 CDU problem went away and all is back to normal. Just took a chance and reinstalled the ERJ and now have no problems with it either. All is ok. Seems obvious that there was something wrong with my setup/system but why installing another program would fix things is a mystery to me. Anyhow, all is good now so go figure. Thanks for all your interest and efforts to solve this. Really appreciate it. Jim
  2. HI Alex, I didn't try any default planes but did a random sampling of my payware planes. Found problems on the A2A Cherokee, QW 787, CRJ 700. Other planes didn't indicate any problems but I didn't check them all. In my original post I didn't mention that after the 3rd uninstall, download, and reinstall the wipers were jumping again but the emergency light switch was ok and not jumping. The thing in common with all the planes that acted up was that the 1 second interval regular as clockwork. The A2A Cherokee was particularly strange.in that the yoke was jumping while it was still secured with the seatbelt. When the yoke was released from the seatbelt it was steady but there was a flashing white box around the GPS/NAV switch (with and without the yoke secured). Also on all the planes that did this was that it was happening with and without power applied. Jim
  3. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the same with the ERJ135. What is really strange is that I was having similar problems with other planes such as the A2A yoke jumping at that 1 second interval, some other planes had some lights flashing - same interval. Those problems started with the ERJ installation. I have subsequently uninstalled the ERJ and that seemed to fix the other planes too. Thanks for the clarification on the file size. I'm hesitant to reinstall without a definite fix. If no one else has this problem then maybe there is something wrong with my system. Seems like quite a coincidence that other planes were affected too. Jim
  4. The installer is: erj135-145xr-p3dv4-2.exe Jim
  5. Should have been more specific. This is on the ERJ145XRJ. Jim
  6. I received an email stating that there is a ERJ SP out now. I uninstalled the version I purchased in April, downloaded and installed the latest version - supposedly with the SP and installed. The windshield wipers kept jumping for about an inch or two every second while in the parked position. Did this with and without power on the plane and wiper switch off. Uninstalled and redownloaded the plane again. The wipers stopped jumping but now the emergency light switch jumps from Off to Arm every second just like the wipers were doing. Can't turn the lights to On. It is now on the 3rd download and still doing it. Any ideas? The other thing I am wondering about is that when I originally bought the plane back in April, the download file size was 144.71 MB. The latest that I just downloaded has the same file size. Normally any updates have a different file size. So I'm just curious if I do actually have the SP version. Thanks. Oh yeah. I'm using P3D v4.3 with Win 10. Jim
  7. Hi, Finally got it done. My problem was that I didn't RTFM since I had installed the updates many times before. I was trying to install directly from WinZip but as explained in the Installation Section, once I sent it to the desktop and then selected Run as Administrator, it worked. Jim
  8. Hi Pete, I'm currently using FSUIPC v5.121B for P3D v4.1 and am trying to upgrade to v5.122. When trying to install after downloading, I get a message stating: "The program doesn't have sufficient privileges to complete the installation. Please re-run the installer in your Administrator account and using "Run as Administrator". I always run everything as Administrator but in this case I see no options to do that. This is first time I've encountered this in installing FSUIPC. Thanks for any guidance on this. Jim
  9. I have a general idea of how to set the axis of various levers I like to use for "Gear up & down", "Parking Brake", and "Spoilers extend and retract". I have successfully had these programmed ok before but with much patience and trial and error. The question I have, is what is the proper sequence for accomplishing this. In other words, do I select the controls to be sent, then move the levers and select the "from" and "to", or check the "up" and "down" boxes first. I have read the procedure for this on page 44 in the manual, but am just not sure of the proper sequence of the required actions. Also I have noticed that if I manage to get the landing gear working properly, and then try to get say the parking brakes set, then the landing gear doesn' work right and have to go back and do the landing gear again. Is there a step between programming two different levers that I have to perform so that one doesn't affect the other when setting these things up. Thanks for any guidance anyone can give me on this. Thanks. Jim
  10. Finally figured out the problem. Somehow the number 2 mixture control switch on the Saitek throttle had gotten set to "Trim Down", so when the mixture control was all the way down in the cutoff postion, it was engaging the switch. Still don't know how that happened. Probably a malfunction of the "nut" behind the yoke. Jim
  11. I use a Saitek yoke with everything calibrated thru FSUIPC. I have assigned the switch on left side of yoke to control elevator trim. It has always worked ok except for adjusting the trim on the A2A Cherokee. The trim has always worked very slowly on only this plane. I was watching a review of the new A2A C182 by Froogle on Youtube and he came up with a method of speeding up the trim on that plane by using the FSX controls buttons and FSUIPC together. Seemed to work for him. I followed his instructions but it totally screwed up my trim. Now my trim goes full down (without me touching the controls and I can't control it. It stays at full down (on all planes) and won't adjust although the trim wheel does try to move. I deleted the .dll file in FSUIPC and tested it just with the FSX controls and it works ok. Downloaded and reinstalled FSUIPC but it is still messed up. Am totally at a loss here. Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can do to fix this? Thanks. Jim
  12. Hi Andy, Good to know. Thanks for the info. Jim
  13. Hi Pete, It was indeed the button on the lever assigned to the gear up function. Strange because I had never (to my knowledge) programmed this. In fact, I have never used this throttle quadrant for anything. Oh well, it's fixed now. I also got the parking brake working correctly by assigning the proper range of movement. Thanks for the help. Jim
  14. On a Saitek throttle quadrant I have assigned the three levers (throttle, prop, mixture) to operate the landing gear, spoilers, and parking brake. The problem I am having is that when I retract the spoilers, it also retracts the landing gear. This only happens when the spoiler lever is brought all the way back to the stop. It doesn't have any other effect on the gear. In other words, once the gear is retracted, the spoiler lever doesn't affect it. I can recycle the gear lever and the gear extends ok. Any idea how I can correct this? The other question I have is concerning the mixture lever that I assigned to operate the parking brakes. I can't seem to operate it so that the parking brake is on or off without recycling the lever full range in both directions. I have to move the lever all the way forward then all the way back to engage the parking brake. To release the parking brake I have to again move the lever all the way forward and all the way back. Is there a way to engage the parking brake on by just pushing the lever forward and to disengage by simply pulling it back? Thanks, Jim
  15. Hi Pete, Sorry. I just now discovered the exact reference on using "range" assignments that you tried to explain to me. Guess I couldn't see it for looking. I'll press on and try to follow directions this time. Jim
