  1. Hi there,

I bought and installed frictionality and upon running the program after starting P3D 2.4, the message at the bottom says Not Connected in the simconnect area!

There is no way to proceed after this!

I tried closing and restarting but to no avail... this is version 1.1

How do i get it to connect to the sim please?

    Many thanks

    Doug

Ok edit... I have figured out that i have 2.EXE's that i can fun for P3D... one is for SLI tweaked P3D using the AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe file and the other is the Prepar3D.exe file...

The program works with the latter but not the SLI version...

I am of the opinion that the FSPS does not work with the modified .exe..... if so, is there a way i can get the program tpo see the SLI version of the .exe as i get a huge performance gain from it...

Look forward to your reply please and suggestions

Couple things of interest is that

Looking in registry for Prepar3D install path:
         HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D
         Parameter"SetupPath"
... >>>  OK! FOUND Prepar3D!  <<< ... ................................................ This deosnt exisit on my machine! Certainly not under the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE" tab

Looking in registry for Prepar3D v2 install path:
         HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2
         Parameter"SetupPath"
    ... >>>  OK! FOUND Prepar3D v2!  <<< .............. this is actually under the :HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\etc etc...

It seems also that the file is looking for my Prepar3D.exe but not in the right place... for example it is looking in the areas below...

Looking for the current user's Application Data path:
    ... found as "C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Roaming"
Now finding \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\Prepar3D.CFG for all users, including this one

     ... No Prepar3D.CFG there
    Looking in "C:\Users\Public\AppData\Roaming"
     ... No Prepar3D.CFG there
Cannot edit the DLL.XML file to activate FSUIPC.

It should be looking in the following: "C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2"

Perhaps because it is looking for the following?

Now finding \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\Prepar3D.CFG for all users, including this one

Anyway, I'm not bleating just letting you know my discovery..

Happily waiting for the updated version

    Cheers matey

    Doug

  3. HI again...

In desperation i deleted the existing fsuipc files in the modules folder and reinstalled the new one... when checking the .dll file it shows version 4.9.2.9...

Not sure whats happening here Pete?

Edit... i watched carfeully the install location and it seems it is looking for my CFG somewhere else?

ANy rate, all a bit complicated for me... maybe just the .DLL wold be easier to just drop in and overwrite?

    Thansk for nay help

    Doug

  4. Hi Peter,

I have downloaded the file and received error messages when installing...

This far i have done the following:

Installed as admin...... error comes up saying cannot edit the DLL.XML file to activate FSUIPC. Run P3D at least once (which i have and no difference)

Clicking ok it runs through the rest of the install and says its installed but may not run as its not included in the DLL.XML file...

So... i renamed my exiting DLL.XML file and re-installed - same message ... below is the install log

In checking the modules folder the .DLL and the .INI files both show 4.29c version ...

Is there anything i should be doing specifically here as most other times it works flawlessly?

    Cheers for any help

  5. Hi guys,

Just bought this tool after tweaking with my CFG (which i am comfortable on doing)... a question or 2... how do i sleect my GTX670 in SLI config? I only have a choice or GTX670...GTX670 and the onboard graphics... I cant select 2 GPU's... what should i do there? DO i double the memory clock?

The other question is that i always start my fsx using a batch file to enable Vsync in windowed mode.... i tried ticking the Aero fix box but it didnt work as i still had tearing on the screen... what do you suggest? Should i select my desired settings then start FSX using my batch file as per normal or will this negate the selected settings?

Many thanks and look forward to getting this to work!

    Doug

PS -I should also ask, should i start the process with a clean, vanilla CFG?

  6. How do you make it work with the mouse itself? do you left click for one direction and right-click for the other, or what?

To operate the switch itself requires the mouse above the switch while left mouse clicking... to turn off the mouse must be below the switch (not by much) and left clicking again.. so only left click top and left click at bottom operates the switch...

No, just delete the lines you don't need in the one MCRO file (I assume you've put them all in the one file, and not generated loads of files?).

Thansks for that direction.. i put them all in to one macro set for ease of use as the instructions suggested.. i'll edit the macro file

Thanks for your help - i will try what you have suggested Pete

    Warm regards

    Doug

  7. Hello Pete,

I am using version 4.8.5.8 registered and have delved into the world of mouse macro making to assign switched and buttons to the Wilco A320...

After assigning the relevant FS command key stroke i the use the VRI keymapper to assign that command to my FCU panel (which we have previously discussed and is not supported etc)... for the most part this is working fine..

I have read the FSUIPC user guide and the mouse macro section and followed a couple of YouTube examples and was able to use FSUIPC to capture the APU on/off with no difficulty... my question is this though..

I want to employ the same process to make a mouse macro for the landing lights... the problem i have is there are 3 positions on>off>retratced

I made one macro which turned them from retracted to off to on... that worked fine... but how do i make another macro getting the switch to move the other way from on>off>retracted? There seems to be a few (like the seatbelt switch) that require 3 positions...

After fiddling a few times and creating more macros i now have several macros all trying to operate the switch (but none succesfully!) how do i delete these duplicate entries? Do i need to delete the entire macro set in the modules folder?

Apologies for my simplistic descriptions Pete.. I have tried reading what i could but the answer eluded me somewhat

    Thank you for any help!

    Warm regards

    Doug

  8. Hi Pete,

Been a long time since i was simming but now back into it!

I did try and find the answer to this but my pea-like brain was hurting!

Simply, i have the new Airbus FCU from VRinsight and i have a couple of buttons i would like to program like Autobrake increase / decrease... i cant seem to find a way to do this?

I checked FSUIPC in FSX and it didnt recognise my hardware... my searching has lead me to ask: in reading appendix 3, do i need to buy and install this VSPE software for virtual com ports? I am using the new VRSim software which effectivley replaced the old Serial FP2 stuff...

Is there and easy way to make the panle and FSUIPC see each other?

Hopefully that is clear but apologies if not!

PS- hope you had a good break!

    Cheers

    Doug
