  1. thanks. I will download adaware and give it a try, but there is only one problem left, and I have been able to isolate it, but I am not sure how to solve it. Pete was right, the speed problem was pilot errorpitot heat took care of that, but the other problem not being able to see other traffic and SBRelay locking up remains. Also, the other program made by IVAO as an laternative to SBrelay remains. I have been able to determine that the problem starts the minute an aircraft leaves the session, so it could happen right away in a busy airport, or may never happen if you are flying close to another aircraft in an isolated area, the fact is that it happens, and it happens every time. As soon as I get the "XXXX Has left the session" that is it, no more updates or messages are sent, and therefore, I can no longer see anyone moving. -Jose
  2. Yeapthat was it. I put that line in the FSUIPC.INI and now it works. I guess if I run into any other compatibility problems, I just take that line out. Thanks -Jose
  3. Actually, there is a FS2004 update, however, the author of arresto Cables sold the program to Abacus who came out with their carrier three package which uses the updated arrestor cables program. The package is very inexpensive ($19.00) however, they only come with one carrier, where the old version had 18 of themnot sure if the new version will support all of the original carriers as well. Thanks !! -Jose
  4. Is there a way to get the FS2002 Carrier Arrestor cables working with FS2004?? If I run it on another PC running WideClient, I get this error. "Maybe running on WideClient but FS not running on server, or wrong FSUPIC. Is FS running?" Once I start FS2004 on the server, or run Arrestor Cables on the server also, I get this error: "Range check error. Is FS running? -Jose
  5. Uhmmlet me just take this pilot/copilot one step further. Is there a way to have a pilot/copilot scenery when both pilots are in different locations (remotely connected) and be able to work from the same cockpit? -jose
  6. Pete, ... a short test showed that you may be right to suspect the weather. I disabled the real time weather in Squawkbox, and for the first time, I was able to connect to IVAO, and continue to receive messages and updates. Being Xmas eve, there weren't too many people around to test with other players, but the behavior has definetly change. More information to come as I do a more thorough test in the next couple of days. Thanks. Jose L. ALvarez
  7. Pete, In the interest of good relations, I am whiling to put this matter to rest. As I said, posting the message in private was an honest mistake, but your message to me sounded condescending and offensive. I interpreted the message as if you were saying "My program is perfect, why are you bothering me, you don't know anything"so I reacted to it. Again, if this was a huge misunderstanding, I sincerely apoligize. I respect the work you do, and what you have accomplish with FSUIPC. Your program allows external processes to talk to FS, so it is only natural for people to think that anything that has to do with communicating with FS is also related to FSUIPC. Again, it's done. Happy Holidays Jose L. Alvarez
  8. I am experiencing the following problem while connected to IVAO or VATSIM networks: A few minutes after connecting, I stop receiving messages from other players, as well as location updates from other players. Everything appear to freeze, so if I had another player next to me, the player maybe moving, but I only see the last update that FS2004 got from the network. They can still see me, and continue to see updated information about my user (e.g. location, altitude, speed). This problem does not appear if I just connect to another user via straight multiplayer, or if I connect to Microsoft GameZone, only when using the SquawkBox, SBRelay, FSUIPC (Not suggesting FSUIPC is the problem Mr. Dawson). I have spoken to the folks in SquawkBox and SBRelay, and they believe their software is working properly, in fact, you can send updates or messages directly from SquawkBox with no problem. Another curious thing that happens is that a few minutes after connecting, normally at the same time as I stop getting message and updates, while in automatic pilot, the speed drops to 0, and the power goes to maximum. If I disengage the auto pilot, then I can once again control the speed, but the gauge continues to show 0. This happens on all aircraft. Mr. Dawson flat out said that it was pilot error, and that it was related to not putting pitot heat, however, this does not ever happen in regular multiplayer (FS2004 to FS2004) or in regular single user flight. My reasoning from coming to this forum about FSUIPC possibly being the cause, is because I believed that SquawkBox somehow passed the locations of other players and messages to FSUIPC to be inserted into FS2004. ... Oh yea, I also opened several cases with Microsoft, and updated DirectX several times. FSUIPC was the very last in my list of elements to check. If anyone have experience this problem or have any suggestions, I will greatly appreciate. Jose L. Alvarez
  9. LookI did not start this. I approached Mr. Dawson in a most courteos way looking for help on a problem that I am having and he got all defensive and treated me like a 10 year old. ... I never said that the problem was with FSUIPC, I mearly described the problem. If I sent the message directly to Mr. Dawson, I appoligize being new to the site, and my intention was not to hide something as Mr. Dawson implied in his message to me. I went to the trouble to purchase the registration for FSUIPC because I want to support the hard work of people that normally write freeware, and to receive the Tech Support that goes with it. To use it with SquawkBox, I could have continued to use the unregistered version, or use FDConnect which does the same thing and it is free. I never expected to be treated the way I was treated, and to be told that I don't know anything about anything. Then after I replied to Mr. Dawson in anger, and rightfully so, I was told that I was rude and that he would not talk to me again, so I asked for my money back. I have absolutely nothing against Mr. Dawson or his product, but if he decided to go payware, users become customers, and customers want the respect and attention they deserve. Nowwith all that said, I will post my problem to see if anyone can help on a separate email.
  10. First of all, I have no clue why you are getting so freaking defensive. I spent the money to register FSUIPC and WideFS, so I would expect some TECH SUPPORT. Second, I did what I was told to do for support by sim market, send YOU a message not the forum, if that's the way they wanted us to do it, they should say so, and it is not that I have anything to hide like you suggest. Maybe I will post it in the forums, like the way you treat your customers!!! I never blamed FSUIPC, I just told you what my problems are; they ONLY happen while using FSUIPC. The multiplayer works find, my problem happens only when I use it with IVA and VATSIM which use Squawkbox which uses FSUIPC to talk to and update FS2004. I already check with the folks of squawkbox, and that is working fine FSUIPC IS NOT updating FS2004 with the information received from squawkbox. On the second problem, if it is pilot error, how come it ONLY happens when using squawkbox which again uses FSUIPC to talk to FS2004??? I don't know what your problem is, but I approached you in a nice manner, expecting a professional response, if that's the way you are going to treat your PAYING customers, you should give me my money back !!!
  11. I have a problem that has been driving crazy. I recently registered FSUPIC and WideFS. The problem that I have involves connection to IVAO or Vatsim via Squawkbox which I believe must use FSUIPC. This problem does not happen using regular FS2004 Multiplayer, and being that it happens using SBRelay and the other program for IVAO, I would rule that out as the problem. Problem: A few minutes after connecting to IVAO or Vatsim, via squawkbox, FS stops receiving any information, messages, location of other users, etc, in fact, it almost appears as if every connection information just freezes in place, in other words, FS2004 stopps getting updates from the IVAO and Vatsim networks. Squawkbox still continues to receive information and messages, but it fails to pass that on to FS2004. FS2004, however, continues to send information out about my location, state, etc, and if I send a message via chat window, the message is in fact sent. Please help, I have tried everything, and the problem does not appear to go away. -Jose Alvarez
