  1. Hello Ruud,

first of all, thanks for trying to help us out. Unfortunately, with the new installer no joy either. I've uninstalled the previous version, then ran the installer. It automatically found the FS folder on D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\, installed the files, then gave me the option to start FSX when exiting the installer.

After it had started up I was in the cockpit again... and nothing happened.

  2. /me raises hand

    Hi Ruud,

same problem here - I just sit there on the parking, there's a huge sign announcing the Beagle mission in front of me and pretty bad weather approaching. But that's it. No 'Chip' in the cockpit. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded the package again and reinstalled again... but nothing. I've started the mission from the desktop and from within FSX.

Then on a whim I installed the second mission as well and the moment I started that one there was interaction in the cockpit. But nothing in the first mission yet.

Perhaps if you have a file list I can check if everything has been installed correctly!?

    Bedankt!

    Gert Wijbrans

  3. sigh... ordered it at game247.nl - cheap (hey, I'm Dutch remember ;) ) but yesterday I received an e-mail saying it was expected to be delivered "within 30 days". When I ordered it two weeks ago they still mentioned the release date of 13 October.

Oh well, FS9 is still good! Love flying the Do-27

  4. About FSBuild, that one is very good if you're flying big'uns. Not for general aviation, but nice if you use airways. It works independant of FS20.. - and even can be used for Fly!2. So it will still work with FSX, although it may take a while until the export function works again. You can still use manual input then.

If you fly GA, don't get it.

  5. Hmmmm.... I wonder if I now should feel insulted (naaaahhhhhh ;) ) or interested in all these references to Dutch...

Dutch treat - everyone pays for him/herself

    Dutchie - slang for marihuana?

Dutch doors - doors that split down the middle

    Dutch Barns - farting contest?

Of course, as wel all know, a real Dutch is a person of good standing, a cosmopolitan whose friendlyness is only surpassed by his generosity, an example to the rest of the world ;)

OK, what other references are there?

  6. when flying over 400 kts at low altitude - 500 feet or so, around Emma Field (which is perfectly landable with it :) ) - I also encountered buffeting. Of course, with that speed there must be a lot of traumatized virtual birds and rabbits in the area.

I used your tip to decrease the nosewheel movement, and that really improved ground handling a lot. Thanks, Bill!

  7. Hmmm... you're not the first... see this post on the SimHQ forum. Somehow FSD thinks they have the right to scan your computer, so it may be worth checking that out.

That's at least two customers they loose because of their paranoia (plus a lot more that read your story - I know I'm not really interested in getting theit planes now). I hope they'll learn a lesson from it.

  8. The MAAM-DC3 is one of the 'known' add-ons that doesn't work well... much to my chagrin becasue as part of the MAAM team of testers I really fly it a lot :-(

What exactly is the problem with it (except for these floatplane assignments)? I didn't try it with FSCargo yet, but it's one of my favorites as well - especially now Jan Visser is working on an upgrade to the virtual cockpit to make it (almost) fully interactive.
