  1. OK, I managed to get it working again? Here is what I did: After doing all the usual things, like testing it and calibrating in device manager many times and eliminating all possible conflicts with other/duplicate assignments, I calibrated it right from FSX itself! Bear in mind that I was unable to calibrate this axis from within FSUIPC itself and I also had told FSX not to enable controllers too? Anyway, After doing the calibration from within FSX options, it started to work normally? So, it looks like FSX itself must have been preventing FSUIPC from doing it's own calibration thing?? (I was this close to pulling the pot out of the unit itself to try to repair it) Thanks all
  2. Hello all My rudder axis on my Saitek X52 is doing peculiar things? I know that the the X52 rudder potentiometer has a history of failing but here is the weird thing: When I try to calibrate in FSUIPC it seems as if it has no home position detected and displays itself as having full left rudder on the aircraft. Immediately makes you think that the pot is bad? However, when I go to game controller settings in Windows devices, the axis moves left and right normally in the calibration screen?! It also stops in the home position as it should. From here it indicates that the potentiometer is working normally? As soon as I open FSX, though, I get full left deflection again and FSUIPC sees it as stuck in that position also? I can turn it the other way and get full deflection in the other direction but as soon as I let it go, it goes full left again? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you
  3. You have a point there. Maybe I will increase it to 40... I do taxi kind of slow especially with the 737 otherwise I tend to scare the heck out of all the other traffic (not to mention buildings) around me! Thanks again
  4. Ok increasing the deadline helped and I also changed the steering tiller cutoff speed to 20. Thanks again for your assistance Norm
  5. Thank you so much. Quote: many pedals don't always return to dead centre I actually removed my rudder pedals per se in order to mount my steering wheel/tiller. (kind of short of space as everything is mounted on a motion platform). Consequently, I assigned a twist axis from my X52 as rudder control. Nevertheless, I will try the larger dead zone and report back. Norm
  6. Thank you, that was very informative. After reading it, I now see a possible cause emanating from my X52 rudder axis? When I am at the axes page, I see the rudder values jump erratically even though I am not activating the axis itself? As soon as I give the axis a twist, it stops the erratic movement. Also this displays itself when I am in spot plane mode and stationary on the runway........I see small erratic rudder deflections obviously in tune with the erratic values I see in FSUIPC? Obviously, I have some internal problems with the X52 rudder axis itself which, up till now I haven't been able to cure? So, after reading and understanding your reply, I am now wondering if my wheel is getting it's erroneous movement from the rudder anomalies?? Thank you
  7. Hi Recently, I assigned tiller control to a logitech steering wheel which I was not using. (this also has force feedback) It works great while I am taxiing but, when I start my take off roll the wheel gets violent movements? I assume as the nose wheel is gaining speed and the ground is a little bit uneven, it send messages back to the tiller? As I use the rudder on take off roll for direction control and not the tiller, is there any way I can program FSUIPC to ignore the tiller axis when a certain speed is reached? Thank you Norm
  8. It's ok. I was able to achieve what I wanted by just adding comments to the file. Thanks again Norm
  9. Thank you Peter. As another method can I assign a descriptor on each line of the macro file so that when I edit it, I can easily see the controls> example 1 flaps etc 2 anti ice etc If so could you please just give me an example of the format for that (or could I just use \\ for comments? Norm
  10. Please excuse me if this has already been answered bit I couldn't find it anywhere. In my modules folder, I have quite a few macro files, some of which I want to delete. I open them in notepad and I see the list of steps for each one which I would like to decipher. Is there an easy way to convert these to the actual action, they are performing? Thank you Norm
  11. Pardon me if this has already been discussed, I was unable to find info on the forum. I would like to program the spacebar to do 2 different things at once. Currently, I use the spacebar with Vox ATC to key and unkey the microphone. I would also like it mute the sound in fsx while holding the spacebar down and unmute it again on release. The scenario: Spacebar down = key mic + "Q" key to mute the sound. spacebar up = unkey mic and activate "Q" key again to unmute the sound . Any assistance would be appreciated Norm
  12. Thank you. it depends what you want to do. (within LDS767) I would like to take each step of the range selection and each step of the mode selection in the Captain's EHSIand EADI and map each step to a keypress. Right now, the only drop down command I can see that relates to this is to use the + or the - control to do this? I want to be more specific and have the legs on a rotary be labelled the specific range or mode selection . Range examples 10,20,40,60,60,120 nm [i saw from Nico Kaan's FSCONV program that, indeed these individualised offsets are available. I would actually then use my XKEYS matrix board (PI engineering) to direct these keypresses to the rtotary legs. Sorry if I am not explaining it very well. The reason for my title was because I was concerned that my questions may appear dumb within the wealth of expertise available here. Thank you again Norm
  13. I have some very basic questions and would appreciate some assistance. Givens: 1) My programming knowledge is virtually nil 2) I am a registered user.. 3) I have read the manuals to the best of my abilities. 4) I have done many searches before posting my questions. 5) My knowledge OF Fsuipc is limited to using the basic interface supplied to program buttons and keypresses. 6) I have never used (or know how) to use a SDK. Questions: 1) How do I use FSUIPC offsets? 2) Can I program offsets as listed in Fsuipc docs to keypresses? 3) With my limited (to say the least) programming knowledge, am I out of my league to even try to do #2? 3) If the answer to # 3 is negative, what tools do I need to do this? 4)If the answer to # 3 is negative, could I solicit step by step instructions on how to achieve this? Any constructive help would put me out of my misery and would be greatly appreciated Thank you Norm
  14. Yes, I understood that. You think I'm the idiot? Very constructive, comment? Not called for. Having been an instructor for many years, I learned that individuals react differently to explanations of topics and, sometimes need the solution to be re-defined using different terminology before it sinks in. Unfortunately, this one took me a couple of tries before it became clear. If this caused you frustration, my apologies. The good news is, that, I can now finally see what was I was missing in the explanations, the light came on at the end of the tunnel. Hugo, your post, combined with Pete's, did the trick Thanks to you both Norm
