  1. Hello again Just had another attempt at reverting all to my old address and it worked. In future I'll leave this flaky registration method severely alone. ken
  2. Hello Thank you for the unhelpful reply, I thought that when I changed my email address it would be logical to let all holders of that address know of the change, which I have done with all other holders successfully. So my "error" will be expensive I suppose. Ken
  3. Hello Pete I have got into a slight mess when trying to change my address when installing FSUIPC vs.28. No instructions on how to do this were given and I am now in the state where FSUIPC28 is installed but still with my old address and WideFS will not register even with the old address. The manual says that item 1 says delete previous registration(also lets you enter new ones) HOW? since they are not acceptable. Here is the log: Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.28 Looking in registry for FSX install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"SetupPath" SetupPath="D:\Flight Sim x\" Checking version of FSX.EXE: ... 4. OK Jeff I read and effected all the stuff relevant in the announcements at the forum start and now I have the addon tab. Now to check and reinstall my FSCommander etc. Thanks again. ken
  5. Also Jeff I read many messages on this forum referring to simconnect.ini which seems to bear on this problem BUT I cannot find a simconnect.ini on my system!
  6. Thank you Jeff for your help Jeff. I installed the 04 version but still no addons tab!. I have NO fsuipc.log file, the only log file is the install one! Hope you can suggest further help. Thanks again ken
  7. Hi Just like GEEZO I also get this fault even after disconnecting XP firewall. My install log indicates no problem and I am not savvy enough to understand the workings of simconnect. 8. Ok Peter Solved that one, reading the text which is displayed after fsuipc4 is installed I noticed that the wrong fsx.cfg was being found. This was under another older name which I had changed on XP reinstallation, I should have deleted this which I now have done and so far all is well and of course i have an addons item on menu bar. Thanks for your help and I hope not to trouble you too many times in future. Regards ken
  9. Your answer did the trick, must have been a bad simconnect install. However my problems persist insofar as I get no "addon" menu atop FSX screen. The FSUIPC4 gives no indication that it has not installed and there is a modules folder under FSX. I have removed this folder and reinstalled FSUIPC4 and the modules folder appears but no addon menu. Glad to have your help. regards ken
  10. Hello Peter I had to reinstall XP after a bad failure, I am now reinstalling everything. FSX is reinstalled and I am trying to install fsuipc4 and get the message "fsx installation is incorrect! The version of simconnect installed does not match fsx.exe. You may need to execute the simconnect.msi to rectify this first." I am not au fait with this instruction, canyou guide me in what to do. Thank you. ken
  11. Hi peter I registered and paid for fsuipc on 24th december, can I now take advantage of your cut price offer for widefs? regards ken ellis
