  1. Thanks for the reply John. I do have the bulk of MSFS on my E drive which results in some form of shortcut links being created from C and also some form of file compression I think. Maybe as you say that's enough to confuse things. Happy to manually configure the two components as you suggest. It would be interesting to know if all the people with this problem have installed MSFS to a different drive on install. Thanks Mike
  2. If I type %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\ into file explorer in windows it goes to the right folder ok.
  3. I am trying to install FSUIPC7 for MSFS and keep getting the error 'cannot determine the location of your UserCfg.opt file'. This is located in my 'C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache' folder. I have read this is something to do with setting environment variables but whilst having read some websites it is still not very clear what I am looking for or what I might need to add. Or if indeed this is the problem? I was hoping someone might be able to advise me getting this installed. I am a long time user of the registered program for fsx but am reluctant to buy the MSFS version until I can get it to install.
  4. Hi, I am trying to run makerunways 5.13 with MSFS. I receive an error ' not able to continue, no scenery located'. The Runways .txt file says 'Processing MSFS scenery in "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator"' which is an incorrect path; the directory does not exist? It says it is checking: C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\ before then giving up. This path is also incorrect as on my system this path is in my user directory not C:\Users\Admin. How do I get the program to look in the right place? Thanks. Mike
  5. Thanks Peter. Sorry to miss the point. I think I get it now, the letters are what fsuipc looks at and assigns based on, these are not linked to a number but to the name and stay with the joystick even if the number changes. I will read the manual again and re-assign the letters. Mike
  6. Hi Stefan, I did test that switch option in the .ini file but the letters changed order too instead of numbers. I don't see what it achieves unless you can actually force the joysticks to keep the assignment order fsuipc thinks they should be in for key bindings it has assigned to them. I'm probably missing something obvious, I must read the documentation again. Mike
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. I have a registered copy. I had another look tonight and removed and re-added the joysticks in windows and renewed fsx.cfg just in case. It seems to work ok now. The x55 throttle is 0, X55 stick is 1 and edtracker is 2 (when it is plugged in). So far so good. Do the numbers assigned correspond to the order they were plugged into the usb sockets in windows as that is the order i used? I did read the manual that came with fsuipc but am still unsure about what decides the order of joystick numbering and why the program lost track of which was which and the respective key bindings. Thanks again for responding so promptly. I might bother you again if the problem recurs if that's ok? Mike FSUIPC4.JoyScan.csv FSUIPC4.ini FSUIPC4.log
  8. Hi. I am having a problem with my edtracker in fsx. I already have two joysticks that work ok . X55 throttle and stick. The throttle has button assignments in fsuipc. When I plug in the edtracker which windows sees as a joystick the x55 throttle is lost in fsx and the buttons no longer work. I think it changes the joystick number. Any help and advice would be welcome. Thanks. Mike
