  1. Hi, Just out of curiosity; Why would it be meaningless to have one throttle controlling 1+2 and the other controlling 3+4? When flying a multiengine aircraft it's a very good thing to be able to control the "left and right" thrust individually. Perhaps I just didn't understand what you were looking for... :) Have a nice day! / Magnus
  2. Hi again, Sounds great! I think I will begin with the "simple" method without a database. I will read and store the position of the active DME station in a couple of variables when DME HOLD is switched on. Have a great day! / Magnus
  3. Thank you for your reply, Pete! Ok... I guess one way would be to read(and store) the long, lat and elevation of the DME station (VOR) and triangulate the distance between those values and the aircraft position. This works in theory (right?) but has anyone tried this in FS? G'night! / Magnus
  4. Good evening Peter and all other coders/simmers, I'm looking for a way to enable "DME HOLD" i.e. to keep the DME indications from a VOR/LLZ and still be able to tune in another VOR/LLZ. (Ask me and I'll explain in more detail, but I guess you know how it works) DME HOLD is a function that almost 100% of all aircraft (larger than a C172) has today. I want to keep using both NAV1 and NAV2 so using a "hidden" NAV2 for DME only is not an option. A third NAV in FS would solve my problem.. ;) So... ...is there any way at all to read the distance to a third VOR? ...has anyone seen this function in a FlightSim addon or panel? I haven't tried Project Magenta. Do their addons have this feature? I'm very grateful for any hints or leads! Please don't hesitate to post a reply if you know that this won't work (so I can give up :) ). Have a great night and thanks in advance! / Magnus Winsth
  5. Good morning! Perfect! I actually saw 3300 last night but I only read the first line of the offset description "[FS2k, CFS2 and FS98, as applicable]". I must have misunderstood that line and because I'm using FS2004 I skipped to the next ADF related offset without reading 3300 properly. Well.. this is what I'm looking for. Thank you! / Magnus
  6. Good evening (or day..wherever you live :D ), When the ADF does not receive a signal the needle goes to 90 deg - just like in real life. However... on an EFIS there is often an indication that the ADF-signal has gone out. One example is that the arrow (now pointing 90 deg to the right) flashes red. So.. Is there a way to tell if the ADF has lost it's signal (or if the ADF is receiving a good signal)? If I would use the 90 deg indication as a "signal lost" indication - the arrow would flash red every now and then (flying an right hand arc or just passing an NDB). Many thanks in advance!! / Magnus Winsth
  7. ...cont'd... Of course I'm also interested in comments/questions on this topic - not only a solution. Am I the only one finding the lack of "IAS by pitch" in MSFS annoying - or am I not looking hard enough? There are a lot of aircraft "out there" (IRL) with the IAS-mode connected to the elevator - not to the throttles. I can't belive I'm the only one interested in this mode so grab your pen... ehrr.. keyboard.. and share with this forum/topic what you know. :) Have a great day! And Peter... I truly admire your work!
  8. Hi, I'm currently programming a "standalone" addon for FS9. This time it's a SAAB340. The SAAB does not have an autothrottle so I need to find a way to make the autopilot pitch for airspeed in IAS-mode. Does anyone have any leads for me? :) I guess one alternative is to control the elevator trim from the addon, but I'm not that good at physics. I can't figure out the correct formulas to maintain a selected IAS and at the same time prevent a phugoid. I guess I have to take things like trim position, angular acceleration, vertical acceleration, delta-IAS etc. into consideration? Please help! This is one of the last things to complete on my SAAB... Fly safe!!
