  1. Love this simulator, but why is there no save game option ? I have a young family, and can only spare the odd hour (to 2) at a time. Its a bit frustrating that it takes 30minutes to build up good game-play density, to then have to end the game and start over each time. Being able to save a game in progress and recommence from that point, would be great. I would also like to inquire about airport construction. In the first versions of Tower (2d), it was possible to create your own airports and I found this a really cool exercise. I have no doubt going 3d has added significant complexity to the creation of the image and graphic files, but simulators such as TS 2017 Train Simulator (by Dovetail) etc, provide very powerful tools to generate a user build type environment.
  2. I PURCHASED THE REAL COLOUR ADD ON FOR LAX, PHL ETC AFTER I PURCHASED THE 3D PRODUCT. I INSTALLED THE ADDON INTO THE 3D DIRECTORY AND IT WORKED FINE. I HAVE REDOWNLOADED THE ADDON AS DIRECTED AND INSTALLED IT INTO MY 3DPRO DIRECTORY, AND CAN'T GET THE APP TO RECOGNISE real colour. sorry about Caps, just realized they were on. can't be bothered retyping it.
  3. I have had a very similar issue to hartleecub. Actually my problems started months ago with the normal version of TOWER when I upgraded Windows to Win10. Speech recognition works fine in Windows, but until recently I could get Tower, Tower 3d or 3dpro to work. Somehow I now have speech working fine in 3dPro, but I'm not getting and pilot audio at all. nor is there any pilot text, not sure if there should be or not, but I remember it in the Tower version when it was working. I've re-installed windows Speech API, using English (US) running as administrator etc. Very frustrating as its a great sim otherwise.
  4. Thanks team, I have managed to resolve that obstacle atleast. I rebuilt the airways, and noticed that for outgoing airways, even though they were flagged as outgoing or backward, the actual arrow direction on the airway was opposite, so it meant I needed to build them in the opposite direction physically, to that which I thought logical. That probably sounds confusing, so the simple explanation is set incoming as 1. Airway Incoming 2. Direction is incoming or forward 3. physically place airway so the arrow direction is into the runway. and outgoing as 1. Airway Outgoing 2. Direction is outgoing or backward 3. physically place airway so the arrow direction is away from the runway. This all makes sense, but I agree with Graham in so much as the user manual is very limited, contains a number of errors and is often incomplete. I'm not sure if a group exists amongst members to share their airfields, but I think it would be a great addition to the member area. Perhaps someone at Feelthere could do some work on the Manual, or better yet, create a specific one for Airfield creation.
  5. I too have an issue with an airfield build that causes a fatal error whilst loading. I've built KSDF Louisville, and whilst I've had to fudge (copy) a few files, I've go it to the point where the airfield is recognised in the startup menu and once I've selected active runways and pressed start the fatal error occurs. The error message is that " I have no Approach lines found for selected runways!! " . in the editor, I have made sure I have inbound and outbound airways attached to all 6 runway vectors and these have a knot height of 3000ft at the extremity and are connected to the runways. As far as I can see these mimic the same setup to the default and add on airports I have. I have completed all 3 menu files, have the correct number of graphics files and the map file. Can anyone help, with something I may have missed. Unrelated: I also have similar issues to Graham above. There are very few graphics applications that actually produce RAW files. I too use Gimp, and it is a bit frustrating having to manage the limitation of RAW. I appreciate its not practical to modify Tower 2011 to accept another format, but seeing as you are talking about some of the new features for the 3d version of Tower, perhaps some consideration could be made to support a more distributed format. Perhaps .TIF, assuming the graphics requirements remain similar, which of course they may not due to the 3d environment.
  6. Hi Paul, you can manage this with consecutive instructions, such as ANZ06 landing on 07R at LAX Instruction 1. ANZ06 taxi to terminal via B S D Instruction 2. ANZ06 hold short of runway 07L You will often need to use Instruction ANZ06 hold short of taxiway S, as well to manage conflicting traffic moving from N to S. To get the aircraft to move from the hold position, you use Instruction. ANZ06 continue taxi.
  7. I have recently upgraded to win10 (not sure why). I cant get the pilots speech to work. It was working fine before, and the speech recognition is still working fine. I get background hiss instead of pilot conversation. I have reloaded openAL and have downloaded sdk 5.1 vioce recogition again, but neither have an impact. The text to Speech tab is present and all seems to be set properly there. Any other ideas ?
