I received an inquiry from some one using my iPad app. This app is build for realtime flying and usage of realtime GPS signals, however, the question was asked if simulators can be supported as well (prepar3d). Since I am not familiar with the simulator software at all (i am a pilot in real life), I was wondering if you can supply me some information about FSUIPC. Is there documentation for developers, namely about GPS over wifi (i guess that is what apps like foreflight are using)? I would like to see if there is an option to implement this in my iOS app. If you would have any information, documentation, or even code examples for iOS, that would be very much appreciated.

  3. i was just wondering on how fsuipc does the autosave... Does fsuipc make their own .fxml and .wx file and write the data from the sim into those files ... or does FSUIPC send code to the sim to make those files ?

I´m still with compatibility problem between FSUIPC5 and 747 PMDG, even with the last build 8370, but I tested just with 5.102 and 103; I readed many users that may use it with some versions of FSUIPC 5.101x, so then, anyone could share me any of 101 please? Virtuaflight simply connects to your flight simulator and uses this data to constantly update text files as refreshed stream flight labels. If you wish to broadcast flight parameters to your Live Stream (Twitch for example) from output text files and constantly refreshed, then you need OBS Studio or an equivalent interface.   8. hello, first, i'm newbie to development with fsuipc, and i have some questions: 1. how can i assign controls to my application? for example how can i change the engine to cutoff or idle (in pmdg 737)? although thats a control not an offset 2. how can i read atc window to manage it? (i'm coding a co-pilot for not using my eyesight because i'm loosing it) and i want copilot to do this and screen reader doesnt read it 3. whats the difference between FSUIPC_Read and FSUIPC_ReadSpecial functions? for now, i can remember these thanks

  10. Hi, I brought FSUIPC 4.96 yesterday and installed it. Every time I load into a free flight on FSX: SE, it crashes to desktop every time. This must be an error with FSUIPC because my sim was working fine before installing it. A friend of mine has got the same problem after installing it as well yesterday. Please can you help as to why it is doing that. I have spent £25 on it and it crashes my sim. Please Help! Thanks Sam
  11. When I try to start Prepar3D 3.4.18.19475 I get a "fatal error" and the sim shuts down. Found a strange entry in my registry at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers The FSUIPC4.log shows no error: WINDOWS Event Manager shows the following Application Error: When I correct the entry in the registry Prepar3D starts without a problem. After some flights the strange registry entry shows up again.
  12. Hello, I am using Saitek Yoke and it only turn 45* while in simulator aircraft yoke turns 90*. Is there a way in FSUIPC that I can assign simulator aircraft yoke to move along with the Saitek yoke, so only turns 45*. Since I only fly airliners I do not turn more than that.   13. I am having an issue installing FSUIPC into my steam version of Flight sim. I recently reinstalled windows 7, and have a fully updated os. I have already tried reinstalling flight sim, bot to no avail. Hello there Pete, I recently acquired FSUIPC4 (the payware version) and ever since that installation my PMDG aircraft (737 NGX, 777 LRX) are experiencing Autoflight issues. LNAV and VNAV, AT and LVL CHG are not responding to whatever is programmed into the FMC. The speed indication on the PFD roughly follows the speed entered into the speedwindow. When I then open up Addons in the FSX taskbar and subsequently open the FSUIPC interface and press: Normal defaults everything responds normally again. Now it is nice to know that there is a cure to my problem, but what causes it? I don't want to have to stop the flight every time I depart from an airport to open up FSUIPC to press Normal defaults.   15. First of all, I downloaded and installed the module, but it seems as if it does "nothing" at all. (I planned to start with the unregistered version because I thought this would be a kind of time/function limited demo, but I cannot see what it does at all.) I'd like to know how I can configure FSUIPC (do I need the registered version for this?) to send GPS data from FSX to Bluetooth. Ok, I understood, it should be "to a COM port", but I cannot see anything about that. Is there a HOWTO or a description on that?

Hi, I want to set reverse thrust on single throttle according to the following conditions: If throttle is idle and I press and hold on of the buttons and push throttle forward thrust reverse is working. When I set throttle back to idle reverse thrust should stop working. Is it possible to set something like that using FSUIPC?
  19. Hi, I was using P3D 3.2 until a few days ago when I updated for 3.4 I also updated fsuipc to the most recent version. In P3D 3.2 I used 2 lua files : ipcReady and Dynamic Friction. Both worked beautifully. Now I still have those two, ipcReady is working as intented but Dynamic friction is not working anymore and I don't know the reason. I checked the fsuipc.ini and everything seems fine Thank you for your help

    Hi Pete, As I am currently very interested in the deeper functionality of FSUIPC and Simconnect, I may ask you, if you know about some documentation like a "white paper" about these topics. My interest, as an IT man, goes to some questions like: How gets FSUIPC access to the FSX data? How gets Simconnect access to FSX data? What protocols are used (TCP IP, named Pipes, Queues, etc) ? What roles are LVARS playing? What roles are the OFFSETS playing? How is the "cooperation" between both access modes ? Thanks, regards Alhard
  21. Hello everyone I Gérard (catalina69), I assembled a complete simulator of Boeing 737 in OpenCockpits. I use P3D V3 3.2.3.2 with IFLY 737, IFLYTOFSUIPC, IOCP_IF737_11B2, SIOC 5.0.B5, SimConnect 3.2.0.0 and of course FSUIPC latest version 9.4.58. I have 2 pedals and 2 yokes, which are recognized under Windows 10, and when I go to Addons, then FSUIPC under joystick calibration, then I can calibrate the 2 yokes without problems, but for the pedals, I have no hand to do it, and under Axis Assignment I can not do anything either, Do you know this, and there has been there a solution?   22. I am having issues with ASE as a result of an FSUIPC issue timing out. I have a "new registered copy" of FSUIPC 3.9 together with Widefs. Here is what the ASE error log files are saying: 8:04:21 AM:0245 - FSUIPC_Main: Receive: Thread was being aborted.: FSUIPC Unspecified Error number 0 Here is what the FSUIPC error log is saying: 8:04:04 AM:0085 - Error depicting FS9 Weather: Module: HIFIFSUIPC Class: FSUIPC_Wx_Main Error Message: Normal Timeout on FSUIPC Timestamp, retrying write In short, FSUIPC is preventing ASE from adding generated weather to FS9.   23. Hi, Following on from me asking about getting (regularly updated) data from FSX to Excel I thought I'd attach an example of what I've done, just in-case it's of any use to anyone here. The demo includes only data for the Bahamas, please ensure you're in that area. Open the file, ensuring that macros are enabled (see note below first). You'll be presented with a scatter graph, showing the lat / lon of airfields in the Bahamas, in effect a simplified map. The orange markers are those I've set to 'Visited' and blue are 'Non-Visited'. The red circle is the last logged aircraft position. Hover over a marker to see ICAO code, the country, the name of the airport and if it's logged as visited or not. Left click on a marker to change from visited to not-visited and vice-versa. With FSX and FSUIPC running and with the aircraft positioned within the Bahamas click the 'Start' button. The red circle will move to the correct lat / lon and thereafter will update once per second. Obviously the red circle will only move when FSX is not paused. The file contains the code from the visual basic FSUIPC SDK libraries. It was created in Excel 2016 but I believe will work in any version which the SDK VB code is compatible with. Please note: The attached file contains macros, they run successfully and without harm on my own PC. However, by running them you accept all resultant risks should there be an issue with them. Is there any chance to compile the module for Python 3.5 and amd64? Is there another way to geht the pyuipc module for Pyhon 3.X? Where should I start? Is there anythind out which does this?   25. Hello, First, I must thank you for a very useful product. It worked for a while, and had nice visuals with it, and P3D Realtime Weather plus FSXPilot. As you probably know, both those depend on FSUIPC. Then it stopped working. I have tried everything that I could find suggested, including deleting wxstationlist.bin and the collected .wx files. Reinstall FSUIPC (install goes without any complaint). Deleting fsuipc4.ini. Deleting SimObjects to have it rebuild. Nope. If setting FSUIPC Disabled True in dll.xml, the scene loads and remains stable. I can take off and do everything. The moment I enable FSUIPC though, I get CTD as the scenery begins to load (getting half-loaded virtual cockpit visuals for the few seconds before crash, and half-loaded scenery). The CTD, according to Event Viewer, happens either in util.dll, or, more often, in weather.dll. Both are 0xc000005 errors. The fsuipc4.log file suggests no cause as to why it would crash, the last log line being consistently the "Starting everything now..." message. (Maybe "starting everything" is the cause of it, I don't know.) At crash time, neither P3D Realtime Weather nor FSXPilot are running, so I would not put them to blame. I have no further addons installed in dll.xml. I have tested the memory chips for a good four hours last night with Memtest86, nothing there. I have been busy trying getting this back to working state for the past one day or so, but to no effect. System is windows 7 equivalent (Server 2008 R2); have 8Gb of memory. There are a couple of planes installed, the one I am trying to fly is a Mitsubishi MU-2B-60 Marquise, made by Premier Aircraft Design (an FSX design, but works quite well). I know the above is not a full run-down, but please indicate what information you'd require next to help resolve this issue, or any further suggestions as to what to try. Thank you in advance Peter
