  1. Hi there! I'm working at the moment on a little tool which positions (or should) your plane 4nm away from the runway. I already got it working setting the altitude and speed, but when it comes to longitude and latitude i have a problem. As said i want to position the aircracft 4 nautical miles away from the runway. I thought it should work with picking the runway coordinates and adding values to the latitude and longitude (Offsets 0560, 0568). I was able to calculate with the law of sines the the values i have to add. But those values are in nautical miles (because I used the 4nm as my hypotenuse for my calculation)... so how do I convert them into FS Values? Thanks in advance Philipp
  2. Good evening Pete, I have just had to re-load Windows 7, and thus ALL my FSX Program, add-on aircraft and add-on scenery. Don't feel sorry for me - it was all my fault! However (there had to be a 'however'!) on flying the FSX Beech Baron I thought the pitch response was mighty sensitive, one might say fierce. I tried altering the response slope via the FSUIPC calibration page and it did not seem to make much difference. I then 'flew' the Carenado Beech Baron BE58, and lo and behold I had the same problem. On accessing the pitch calibration page I noticed an anomaly. When moving the yoke forwards the response varied according to the slope set, and reached the maximum set number of about 16,400 at full yoke movement. However, when pulling the yoke backwards the response was far more rapid, and reached the similar maximum set number of about 16,400 after only one third of the yoke movement from neutral to maximum. This reflected exactly what the pitch response was when 'flying' the simulated aircraft. I suspect this means there is a problem with the sensors inside my Saitek Pro yoke, but I would be grateful if you could give your opinion. If indeed this is the problem, do you know if there some way I could fix it by opening up the yoke black box and cleaning contacts/pitch pots or whtever may be causing the problem? :(
  3. A question for Pete. My brother in law and I do full size simulators as a hobby [not paid!!]. The latest one that we are doing is the Navy Sea Harrier FRS2. This was the Harrier Simulator that lived in Yeovilton and we have just about finished it, without using any of the Military spec systems that came with it. Our problem is this. We have a switch that activates the Map view which works just fine. The only problem is how to send the "OK" command by a switch so that the window can be closed without using a mouse in the cockpit? I figure that this will have to be another work around, but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Charlie. This is our Comet project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuOpFjxmP4c
  4. Hello, I recently downloaded the latest version (4.936) of FSUIPC4. Problem, big problem: Norton Internet Security refuses to have it installed: it represents a HIGH threat due to the presence of a "WS" something hinden file in it. I simply cannot escape the Norton refusal due to a "high" threat. What is this ???? I payed for that and I do want my money useful for me. Understood? Do something! Regards, Philippe Urban
  5. Hi Pete and all the others who can help! I wanted to make a small Motion Platform for my Desk... and I wanted to know if its possible to get the movement data ,such like pitch, roll, acceleration and so, out of FSUIPC? Are they saved in special Offsets? Hope you're understanding what i'm asking for ;) Thanks Philipp

    FSUIPC C#

Hello , I'm trying to make a weather injector for fsx , where the user inputs for , for example, the surface wind and the program injects that into the simulator. I am very unsure about how this is done, Looking at the FSUIPC for programmers pdf I found the offsets list , after successfully getting the airspeed from the simulator from an offset i went to Changing the surface temperature , as this is one of the options available in my program. I found the offset 0EC0. int token = -1; int dwResult = -1; fsuipc.FSUIPC_Write(0x0EC0, 10, ref token, ref dwResult); This is an extract from my inject function. Using the included example project I was able to produce this. My questions are , what is int token used for ? All other variables in the example project where commented apart from token however I couldn't figure out what token was used for. In addition to this regarding the weather aspect of the offset list , how do I tell whether I am getting or setting a value. Is this surface temperature being set globally or for the nearest weather station? Is there an easier way to search for the offsets I need ? I also noticed it would be 10*256 as the actual temp in the simulator , is this correct? Many thanks, Arun
  8. I have a newbie question. After researching a way to interface custom applications with a flight simulator, I found the FSUIPC/FSX combination showing up the most. Here's what I am trying to do: I work for a major avionics developer, and in the process of developing a hand-held device (like an EFB), and would like to test it in a simulated environment. I understand FSUIPC allow me to access many parameters of FSX using GPSout, and also will push messages to FSX. But is it possible to use FSUIPC to connect to such a device either over a USB cable or wireless network (on the same domain, not workgroup)? By connect I mean, can I intercept the message traffic and use those updates in my own application using a TCP/IP socket class? I assume I must intercept the packets being broadcast by FSUIPC and WideFS, but haven't found any tutorials or examples of anyone reading the message traffic and interrogating it on any protocol. Also, I have purchased FSX, FSUIPC4 with WideFS and have them running, but after playing with it and reading all of the documentation haven't found a description of my issue. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Tom
  9. Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I couldn't the answer in and I didn't see it in the manual ... and I'm very new to FSUIPC. Is it possible to assign one command to two buttons -- pressed simultaneously -- on a joystick? Basically, I'd like to reassign the trigger button (which it seems is often used for brakes) as a kind of Shift or Control key for other buttons on the joystick. The idea is to be able to perform actions by simply just pressing the trigger and then another button with one hand and thus not have to use my other to press a separate key on the keyboard, which something I know how to do already. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
  10. Hi Pete, first of all I really like FSUIPC because of all of its nice features. Also it made the joystick disconnect problem on my Windows 8.1 PC disappear. But when I assign the POV of my Saitek yoke to the pan view axis, the view will stutter most of the time. This problem appears although I get good fps (24-30). Also my elevators and my ailerons as well as the throttles and so on stutter. It seems like if FSUIPC is sending data not constantly to FSX. I cannot assign the hat switch of my yoke to FSX because then my joystick will disconnect again. I really hope you´ve got an idea on how to fix that problem.
  11. Hello , I have been learning java and have tried to use the FSUIPC java api to get information and send information to fsx. This has worked fine however I do not know to send messages to fsx. In the example provided with the download prints information on the simulator and aircraft and also sends a message to fsx saying ,"Hello world". I have looked hard through the example code and searching the web but couldn't find out. Many thanks, Arun
  12. So I downloaded FSUIPC Version 3.999z8 and It ran, it did its thing and then asked me to either delete registration, check existing or make a new registration. There was no option to install with out registering, (which i understand you can do). so how am i supposed to install it without a registration? Thanks, Tom
  13. Dear all.. I'm trying to add a caption in FS2004 menu to run externally .exe file using VB6 .. I have read FSUIPC or Programmers.pdf, and I just could get the free hot key slot by the below code : Public Function GetFreeHotkeySpot(Optional Idx As Variant) As Long Dim n As Integer Dim gvRetVal As Byte Dim dwOffset As Long dwOffset = CLng(&H3210) + (4 * n) For n = 1 To 55 gvRetVal = FSUIPC_Read(dwOffset, 1, VarPtr(Text1.Text), 1) If gvRetVal = 0 Then GetFreeHotkeySpot = &H3210 + (4 * n) If Not IsMissing(Idx) Then Idx = n Exit Function End If Next n End Function I couldn't write 0x0000FFFF to the slot .. How can I reserve a location for my program into FS2004 menu .. I need help please to understand the idea ..
  14. Hey guys, I got most of my project almost done. I have successfully been able to mute my music, e.g. skyBlue and other url based music, during transmitions and receiving, but only on the COM1 radio. The only problem I am having is the COM2 offset. I don't believe that I have the right offset, because instead of returning a byte, i.e. 0 or 1, it is returning random numbers, e.g. 61045631. The offest I am using for COM2 is 0x7b99 for receiving and 0x07b9a for transmitting. Are these the right offsets? And if so, what could be going wrong? Once I am done, I might need some people to help beta test to work out any problems or to help develop it more. I don't know if there is anything out like this, but if there is oh well. I have enjoyed working on it. Right now, I believe it will only work with Squawkbox, because those are the offsets that I am using.
  15. Hello All, Thanks for taking the time to review my config. I'm new to compound functions however for the most part i have had no issues. With the current config i'm having one issue with B3. The issue currently only affects my 2enginejet profile. I believe its because of the the highlighted macro i created for the 777pmdg. It turns on LNav and Vnav(which works). What docent work highlighted in red is a simple function of Shift+z. This command works on any prop or non 2enginejet profile. I'm no where near finishing but i would rather get an understanding of why i have this issue before i procced. also if anyone can advise a better way, maybe with flags i'm open to suggestions. I haven't figured out the flags yet. thanks in advance Paul Buttons] ButtonRepeat=20,10 1=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,2,K83,10 ;cockpitviewS 2=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,3,K90,8 ;SHIFTZ 3=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,32,K81,10 ;CTRLQ 4=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,34,K82,10 ;CTRLR 5=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,36,K80,10 ;CTRLP 6=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,38,K84,10 ;CTRLT 9=CR(+B,0)(-B,1)B,6,C65897,0 ;APSPEEDIN 10=CR(+B,0)(-B,1)B,7,C65896,0 ;APSPEEDDEC 11=CR(+B,0)(-B,1)B,4,C65879,0 ;INCREASEHEADBUG 12=CR(+B,0)(-B,1)B,5,C65880,0 ;DECREASEHEADBUG 13=CR(-B,0)(+B,1)B,2,C65892,0 ;APALTVARINC 14=CR(-B,0)(+B,1)B,3,C65893,0 ;APALTVARDEC 15=PB,12,C65561,0 ;PAUSE 16=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,3,C66239,0 ;BEACONLIGT 17=PB,11,K48,9 ;TRACKIRCTR 18=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,2,C66339,0 ;FULEPUMP 19=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,1,C66241,0 ;MASTERBAT 20=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,0,C66242,0 ;MASTERALT 21=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,4,C65751,0 ;TAXI 22=CP(-B,0)(+B,1)C,5,C66240,0 ;LAND 23=PC,7,C65603,0 ;FLAPSFULL 24=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,14,C66379,0 ;NAVLIGHTS 25=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,15,C65560,0 ;STROBE 26=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,16,C65858,0 ;PITO 27=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,17,C66579,0 ;CABLIN 28=CP(+B,0)(-B,1)B,18,C66293,0 ;AVONICS 29=PB,19,C66026,0 ;MAGSON 31=UB,19,C66224,0 ;STARTENG 32=PB,13,C65752,0 ;PARKINGBK 33=RB,20,C65602,0 ;REVTRUST 34=CP(-B,0)(-B,1)B,32,K66,10 ;CTRLB 35=CP(-B,0)(-B,1)B,34,K67,10 ;CTRLC 36=CP(-B,0)(-B,1)B,36,K68,10 ;CTRLD 37=CP(-B,0)(-B,1)B,38,K69,10 ;CTRLE [AutoSave] Next=1 Interval=60 Files=10 SaveOnGround=No AutoSaveEnabled=No [GPSout] GPSoutEnabled=No [GPSout2] GPSoutEnabled=No [WideServer] WideFSenabled=Yes [sounds] Path=C:\fsx\Sound\ Device1=Primary Sound Driver Device2=Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) Device3=SAMSUNG-1 (NVIDIA High Definition Audio) [Axes] 0=AX,256,D,7,0,0,0 1=AY,256,D,8,0,0,0 2=AR,256,D,3,0,0,0 3=BX,256,D,1,0,0,0 4=BY,256,D,2,0,0,0 5=BZ,256,D,9,10,11,12 6=BU,256,D,6,0,0,0 7=BV,256,D,17,18,19,20 8=CX,256,D,21,0,0,0 9=CY,256,D,23,0,0,0 10=CZ,256 11=CZ,D,-3251,11008,66080,0 12=CZ,U,-10662,2560,66079,0 [JoystickCalibration] AllowSuppressForPFCquad=Yes ExcludeThrottleSet=Yes ExcludeMixtureSet=Yes ExcludePropPitchSet=Yes SepRevsJetsOnly=No ApplyHeloTrim=No UseAxisControlsForNRZ=No FlapsSetControl=0 FlapDetents=No ReverserControl=66292 Reverser1Control=66422 Reverser2Control=66425 Reverser3Control=66428 Reverser4Control=66431 MaxThrottleForReverser=256 AileronTrimControl=66731 RudderTrimControl=66732 CowlFlaps1Control=66162 CowlFlaps2Control=66163 CowlFlaps3Control=66164 CowlFlaps4Control=66165 SteeringTillerControl=0 MaxSteerSpeed=60 Aileron=-16384,-1735,-482,16288 SlopeAileron=2 Elevator=-13781,2496,3200,16383 Rudder=-16319,0,192,16383 LeftBrake=-16384,16383/16 RightBrake=-16384,16383/16 Throttle1=-16384,0,0,16256/32 Throttle2=-16384,0,0,16256/32 Throttle3=-16384,0,0,16256/32 Throttle4=-16384,0,0,16256/32 Mixture1=-16384,0,0,16383 Mixture2=-16384,0,0,16383 Mixture3=-16384,0,0,16383 Mixture4=-16384,0,0,16383 PropPitch1=-16384,0,0,16256 PropPitch2=-16384,0,0,16256 PropPitch3=-16384,0,0,16256 PropPitch4=-16384,0,0,16256 ElevatorTrim=-16384,0,0,16128 Flaps=-16384,16256/16 Aileron Trim=-16384,-910,768,16128 [Profile.CESNASIGLEENGINE] 1=C172R default [Axes.CESNASIGLEENGINE] 0=AX,256,D,7,0,0,0 1=AY,256,D,8,0,0,0 2=AR,256,D,3,0,0,0 3=BX,256,D,1,0,0,0 4=BY,256,D,2,0,0,0 5=BZ,256,D,9,10,11,12 6=BU,256,D,6,0,0,0 7=BV,256,D,17,18,19,20 8=CX,256,D,21,0,0,0 9=CY,256 10=CY,D,6656,14976,65758,0 11=CY,D,-1560,6656,65758,0 12=CY,D,-12353,-1560,65758,0 13=CY,U,-15473,-8712,65758,0 14=CY,U,-8712,-4941,65759,0 15=CY,U,-4811,640,65759,0 16=CY,U,640,8576,65759,0 17=CY,U,8576,16383,65759,0 18=CZ,256 19=CZ,D,-3251,11008,66080,0 20=CZ,U,-10662,2560,66079,0 [Profile.2ENGJET] 1=Boeing 737-900NGX PMDG House Winglets 2=PMDG 777F PMDG House [Axes.2ENGJET] 0=AX,256,D,7,0,0,0 1=AY,256,D,8,0,0,0 2=AR,256,D,3,0,0,0 3=BX,256,D,1,0,0,0 4=BY,256,D,2,0,0,0 5=BZ,256,D,9,10,11,12 6=BU,256,D,22,0,0,0 7=BV,256,D,27,0,0,0 8=CX,256 9=CX,BR,1408,16383,65615,0 10=CX,BR,-16384,-7932,65607,0 11=CY,256,D,23,0,0,0 12=CZ,256 13=CZ,D,-3251,11008,65570,0 14=CZ,U,-10662,2560,65570,0 [MacroFiles] 1=PMDG777 [buttons.2ENGJET] 0=CP(+B,0)(+B,1)B,4,CM1:2,0 ;AUTOPON 1=CP(+B,0)(+B,1)B,3,CM1:1,0 ;VNAVLNAV 3=RB,14,CM1:8,0 ;SPEEDIN 4=PB,16,CM1:10,0 ;ALTITUDEIN 5=PB,17,CM1:11,0 ;ALTITUDEDEC 6=PB,15,CM1:13,0 ;SPEEDDEC 7=PB,18,CM1:9,0 ;HEADINGIN 8=PB,19,CM1:12,0 ;HEADINGDEC 9=PC,0,CM1:3,0 ;BECAON 10=PC,0,CM1:5,0 ;LOGO 11=PC,0,CM1:4,0 ;NAVLIG 12=PC,0,CM1:7,0 ;LIGT 13=PC,0,CM1:6,0 ;WINGLIG 14=PC,0,CM1:16,0 ;LEFTRUNWAY 15=PC,0,CM1:17,0 ;RIGHTRUNWA 16=PC,0,CM1:18,0 ;STROBE 17=PC,1,K76,10 ;LANDINGLIGHTS

  17. Good day folks! Long-time simmer and flyer but now I'm getting serious about my sim setup as I'm going for my instrument rating. I'm having some issues when using the Emuteq GNS530 with RealityXP Garmin530 along side TrackIR 5. Some of the keys and encoders on the Garsim unit end up kicking my session back to the desktop. When installing the Garsim unit, I pasted the new FSUIPC key mapping strokes into the RealityXP file. This works wonderfully in just the plain ol' VC but when I use the TrackIR that is where I'm having an issue. Looking at the FSUIPC mapping for the RealityXP gauge, it seems that they are mapped as keystrokes usually something like "Win+7." I can't find anything in the TrackIR utility that would cause a conflict. Any thoughts out there? Cheers - Ty
  18. Hi, I am quite new to flight simulations. I have joined a VA and I am need to use FSUIPC 4 to connect to ACARS. When I first started flight simulator and downloaded FSUIPC to try it out it started crashing fsx when en route or at the start of cruise altitude and it will say "fatal error occurred". When I stopped using full screen (so that I can switch between apps) it mysteriously disappeared. After 2-3 months, it suddenly reappeared. I do not know whether it is related or not to the full screen mode but I am sure it is being caused by FSUIPC because it disappears when I delete it (it crashes full screen or not now). Now it freezes when I load my aircraft on airports like KORB or S28 (only certain airports) but it also sometimes crashes fsx while en route or in flight. I have tried downloading the older version of FSUPC - 4.909 (I think) and now it freezes after taking off or reloading after a crash (Still learning).I know it cannot be because of any addons because it froze the first time I downloaded it and there were not any addons. This issue is really becoming annoying as I need to quit online events in my VA. Please help :( . I really need FSUIPC so that I can connect to ACARS. Thanks :D , Aaron. 19. So apparently when opened FSX I hit the FSUIPC menu button and nothing happened. I realized I had an old version like FSUIPC 4.92 and upgraded. Did the installation and everything said it was ok. So i went back to FSX and the emu button still doesn't work. Any ideas?
  20. Hi dear, Since I acquired the Thrusmasteur Warthog joystick, I managed to create a macro mouse to use the PMDG B777. My problem concerns the assignment of the two switches "Warthog": "EAC" and "Path", which does not recognize on FSX the award via FSUIPC for "strobe" and "panel" that is a keyboard command for lighting panel or mouse to macro strobe. By-cons, if I assign these functions to other single button switch and not rocking it works without problem. After extensive testing in-concluded I was after idea. Information for my joystick and many logs in FSX. Thank you in advance for your help. Chris
  21. Hello Pete, after reading the content "Error message when installing FSUIPC 4.924a", I try to clean my registry too: - I delete the old P3D (Version 1.4) registry inside the folder "HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Lockheed Martin" - Now I can see only the the correct registry "Prepar3D V2" - AppPath = C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\ - I delete different old versions of Prepar3D.cfg via the Windows Explorer - Now one Prepar3D.cfg exists under: C:\Users\Andreas\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 - After cleaning the registry, Windows 8.1 64bit was shut down and started again. After restarting P3D V2 and shut down again, I try to install FSUIPC 4.923 with the following error message: "Problem: Cannot edit the Prepar3D DLL.XML file to activate FSUIPC. Please make sure you run Prepa3D at least once before installing FSUIPC". Please can you help me? Did I forgot something between cleaning the registry to find the Prepar3D DLL.XML ? 22. I've paid for and downloaded FSFS Pro 2013 thinking it was complete but am told on installing that I now need the free FSUIPC, at least v. 4.9 from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html. On going there I find several versions for different programs, but no mention of which one is needed for FSFS Pro 2013. Can anyone advise definatively?
  23. Hi, I'm writing a programm which is aimed at controlling helicopters in FSX. I use SDK files (C++) to read and write offsets and everything is fine except for the collective axis. I tried both offsets 088C and 089A (and their equivalent for engines 2, 3 and 4) and I get a strange behaviour : writing at 088C doesn't seem to work at all but writing at 089A work only for the bell (FSX Acceleration) but not for the Robinson or the Agusta. If somebody has any idea, I'm lost here... EDIT : For helos like Robinson or Agusta, writing to 088C does not have an effect although this is still representative of the collective axis (verified through FSUIPC logging capacity with an USB throttle). Actually, the value doesn't follow the external writing for those models, but it does for Bell model. EDIT 2: In facts, my problem is the one described in the first post in this page : http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=53;t=20488 The value at offset 08CC is stuck at 8192 (50%) no matter what I try to write. Thanks
  24. Hello, I have FSUIPC with Prepar3D and I want to create a program to get the Prepar3D's information through FSUIPC. To do this, I would like to use Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and the FSUIPC SDK. The problem is that I don't usually use Microsoft Visual C++ and I don't know how to integrate the SDK. I don't really know what to do with the .h .c .lib and .rc files... Can anyone help me please? Ben
  25. Hi Pete, Just an inquiry if you know if the engine sound volume can be altered in flight. The reason I ask this is that in most rear engined aircraft the engine volume becomes almost non existent once you pass a certain airspeed. As I fly a Learjet in FS it would be nice to reduce the engine sound as I increase in speed. As it is at the moment the engine sounds are just as loud if I am doing 160kts or 320kts. Could this be done in LUA? Thanks Jeff
