  1. Hi, I'm writing a programm which is aimed at controlling helicopters in FSX. I use SDK files (C++) to read and write offsets and everything is fine except for the collective axis. I tried both offsets 088C and 089A (and their equivalent for engines 2, 3 and 4) and I get a strange behaviour : writing at 088C doesn't seem to work at all but writing at 089A work only for the bell (FSX Acceleration) but not for the Robinson or the Agusta. If somebody has any idea, I'm lost here... EDIT : For helos like Robinson or Agusta, writing to 088C does not have an effect although this is still representative of the collective axis (verified through FSUIPC logging capacity with an USB throttle). Actually, the value doesn't follow the external writing for those models, but it does for Bell model. EDIT 2: In facts, my problem is the one described in the first post in this page : http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=53;t=20488 The value at offset 08CC is stuck at 8192 (50%) no matter what I try to write. Thanks
  2. Hello, I have FSUIPC with Prepar3D and I want to create a program to get the Prepar3D's information through FSUIPC. To do this, I would like to use Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 and the FSUIPC SDK. The problem is that I don't usually use Microsoft Visual C++ and I don't know how to integrate the SDK. I don't really know what to do with the .h .c .lib and .rc files... Can anyone help me please? Ben
  3. Hi Pete, Just an inquiry if you know if the engine sound volume can be altered in flight. The reason I ask this is that in most rear engined aircraft the engine volume becomes almost non existent once you pass a certain airspeed. As I fly a Learjet in FS it would be nice to reduce the engine sound as I increase in speed. As it is at the moment the engine sounds are just as loud if I am doing 160kts or 320kts. Could this be done in LUA? Thanks Jeff
  4. Hi I have just purchased FSUIPC but when I go to register with the activation key I am getting 2 messages the first one says (Your current version of FSIUPC is later! It has not been over written ) when I try to continue by clicking the ok button I get the second message Problem! The signature check fails on the installed FSIUPC4.DLL. Please check that simflight is not listed as an " untrusted publisher" in InternetExplorer (Internet OPtions-Publishers) I have checked and it is not listed as Untrusted I then click the ok button and am presented with the registration I then enter my details and the activation key etc, but it does not accept the registration key I have cut and pasted it to avoided any mistakes and have also typed it in manually and still does not accept it Any help would be greatly appreciated many thanks in advance Regards Ian

    fsuipc error

I have bought an upgrade for fsuipc. It is version 4.91. When I startt fsx I get a message advising me not to use it. I also have to pay the full price for the upgrade with Simmarket as they said they don't give discounts M Cumming
  6. Hi Pete! I am building an Airbus x Extended FCU. I already read out all the LVars that I will need for Displaying the Heading, Altitude, Speed, Vertical Speed. Now I'm stuck! For the Arcaze Board I need to write the LVar Data in the Offsets of FSUIPC. I don't know how to do that! Could you/anyone give me an example or a ready *.lua file ()? Thanks Allrounder
  7. I am a long time user of FS (snce it started) and the FSUIPC products. I recently got wideserver/client downloads (fully registered) after completing my cockpit build. I have two networked computers that are talking just fine. Project Magenta and other programs are talking back and forth. I installed the wideclient on both computers (can't seem to figure out how to install the server)...and get some weird errors. Only with FSCommander 9.x I see a message that WideServer is started on the host computer, and I start client on the other computer - and I get the waiting for connection message. when i start FSCommander I receive the MSG#2 and then MSG#14. I have read through the forums here to try and solve, but no luck. I have the current version of FSUIPC on both computers...and not being a software genius, am not sure how to add lines to the ini's to start certain programs, and make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 8. .NET DLL for communicating with FSUIPC Attached is Version 2.4 of my FSUIPC Client DLL for .NET Benefits: Object-Oriented class interface better suited to .NET than the other procedural .NET SDKs. Data from FSUIPC is returned directly to your .NET variables. Supported types are: Byte, Int16, Int32, Int64, UInt16, UInt32, UInt64, Double, Single String (Unicode/ASCII conversion and termination handled for you) BitArray (Allows you to easily manage the bit field type offsets) Array of Bytes (Allows you to read and write raw blocks of data if you need that level of control.) Writes are handled just by assigning a new value to the local .NET data variable. The write to FSUIPC will be handled automatically during the next Process(). Errors are handled by .NET exceptions, not by checking return values. The DLL can be use with any .NET language. Documentation and example projects for C# and Visual Basic.NET. The library has full internal documentation that will appear on the IntelliSense popup menus in Visual Studio. Just as fast as the procedural-style .NET SDKs. Thread safe. Can be used in multi-threaded applications, with each thread communicating with FSUIPC, without corrupting the data. (Only one thread can talk to FSUIPC at a time – other threads will block until the connection is free). The zip file contains the DLL, documentation and an example project in C# and Visual Basic.NET (Visual Studio 2010 format). Documentation for the 2.4 features is only in the form of example code which is attached below. Microsoft have free versions of Visual Studio 2012 compilers for VB, C#, C++ here: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/products/visual-studio-express-for-windows-desktop#product-express-desktop Paul FSUIPCDotNetClient2.4.zip
  9. I am working on a c# program using the .NET Client DLL that, among other things, allows failing engines and instruments. I have been able to read values of things like the light status, etc. I would like to have the fail engine button set to fail the engine if it is currently working, or un-fail the engines if they are currently failed. However, when i try to read the current value, instead of a value, i just get FSUIPC.Offset`1[system.Int16]. Is the failure offset write only? I set the variable like this: private Offset<short> failEngines = new Offset<short>(0x0B6B); //Offset to fail the engines And try to read it: // Failure // Write status of failures to failure box this.failuresBox.Text = failEngines.ToString(); Is the offset write only (if that's possible) or is there something else that i need to be doing? I am currently using FSX.

    FSMetar

Hello, I had no problems installing FSUIPC for FSMetar 2004 in Windows 7, but while upgrading to Windows 8, my FSMetar program file disappeared. I've searched, but can't find it. Can you tell me where I can download a fresh copy of FSMetar? By the way, I just opened this account. I go by "aeroart" or "propjob" on a few US and UK flight sim sites. Thanks for your help. Art
  11. Hello all, I was wondering if I could get some help with an issue that I am having with FSX. The issue is that when I start a flight, for instance at KBOS, with the PMDG the sim runs fantastically around 30 fps for about 5 seconds. Then I get a gd3.dll error and Fsuipc catches it and keeps the sim alive. The problem starts one fsuipc reloads the sim. It comes back nearly frozen. The startup timer for the PMDG NGX instead of taking its normal 19 seconds took almost 19 minuets, and during this time the hat switch on my yoke is completely inop and the computer does not respond to any inputs I make to it, and the scenery around the aircraft is stuck in a loading phase. This is then the state of the sim, I left it in this state for a half hour walked away and came back to it and there was no change. I have tried Bojotes fsx cfg tweaking tool, deleting and rebuilding the fsx cfg, deleteing and reinstalling fsuipc, adjusting my sliders to lower setting and still no luck. I think I am running a fairly high end system with a AMD quad core 4.2ghz processor, 8GB gddr3 RAM, a GTX 660Ti with 2GB gddr 5 RAM, 500 gb hardrive, and 450 watt power supply.. I have no idea what could be causing this and I am desperate for help. Anything someone can suggest to me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  12. This is an on going problem. Here is my data: Windows 7 SP1 64bit 16 GB Ram FSX with Accelerator FSUIPC 4.9 (registered) Here is my problem: 1. When I install MyTraffic2013 my FSCommander and RF Cockpit (iPad) stop working. I get lat/long 0.0 when I connect to FSX in FSCommander and none of my guages work in my RF Cockpit. 2. At the same time, "Microsoft Flight Simulator X with WideServer: waiting for clients" no longer appears in the upper right hand corner of the simulator. 3. If I perform the first step in deinstalling MyTraffic, ie.MyTraffic 2013 Manager and REMOVE AIRCRAFT, SCENERY AND SCHEDULES IN MY TRAFFIC FOLDER everything begins to work again and the WideServer message reappears. It appears that MyTraffic2013 (and earlier edition) seems to prevent FSUIPC in communicating with those addons that use it. MT2013 is the only thing that changed. I really want to use RF Cockpit, FSCommander and MyTraffic2013. I have attached WideServer logs with MT2013 and wo MT2013. WideServer Logs.txt Can you help?
  13. Hello, I am having problems with my Saitek throttle quadrants ; the throttle levers are not synchronised at the same positions. For Example, I could have them In the exact same position (physically) on the quadrant, but on the simulator I get different output, It may only be 3-4% of a difference in throttle but asymmetrical thrust Is actually quite a problem in the simulator. The two throttle levers that aren't synchronised are both on the same quadrant which makes it even more strange :???: . I have FSUIPC installed and I have tried mapping the throttle controls into there to see if It makes a difference, but it remains the same. If someone has a workaround for this in FSUIPC to calibrate the throttle positions to be the same I would be very appreciative if you could help me, Thanks in advance! Kriss
  14. Hi, I have a problem with the fsuipc installed on fsx. i had windows 7 about 2 weeks ago. everything worked fine until i have upgraded to windows 8. after that , everytime i try to start a flight, in the beginning the yoke responses correctly, but all of a sudden it disconnects from fsx!! it means that the FSX doesn't see the Saitek Yoke and Saitek Rudder in CONTROLLER TYPE in the CONTROLS settings ( in fsx ). I know that the yoke and the rudder is still connected to the computer and function, because when i check the Joystick Settings in the Control Panel of the windows 8, i see that i can move them and they respond to my movements. but in fsx, they are unresponsive. if i close fsx and then re-run it, the problem goes but again after a while it becomes unresponsive again. please help me find a solution to this problem Thanks Shahdad
  15. Hi Pete! Got a question about the weather station system FSX uses. I'm currently sending Extended METAR Strings (Custom Mode = Station Mode) to FSX via SimConnect (or FSUIPC which - as far as I know - uses SimConnect itself) for all weather stations 200 nautical miles around the aircraft position. That works fine, the weather's there! However, even though the Dynamic Change Rate is set to 0, after a few seconds (!) stations lose their cloud layers. I thought that it was some internal FSX interpolation thing going on, so I extended my radius to 300 nautical miles. In theory, this should prevent nearby stations to change their weather. But that wasn't the case, there are still stations losing cloud layers that are 60 nautical miles away. Have you heard of this issue before? Any ideas what it could be? Thanks, Bernd
  16. I have installed FSUIPC 4.852 into my FSX installation, which includes several bits of hardware including a Saitek Pro Flight Multi Panel. Unfortunately all is not well with this installation. In essence, without FSUIPC installed (e.g. rename .DLL to .DLX) the system works perfectly as expected. However with the system installed, the Multi Panel does not behave as expected. For example if I press the AP button to engage the autopilot, some random action occurs such as the Vertical Speed autopilot being selected. If I then press AP again, some other lights will come on. Basically it makes the entire Multi Panel unusable. If I click on the graphics of the autopilot on the screen however, the correct commands occur i.e. click on AP and the autopilot engages. (Interestingly the Saitek mirrors this OK.) However if I then press the now lit AP button on the Multi Panel, some new random thing will happen such as the IAS will set to some random value. So as things are at the moment, if I wish to fly using an autopilot, I have to disconnect FSUIPC. Does anyone have a fix for this? What additional information can I provide? Thanks!
  17. Is there any way to know the Maximum Landing Weight (MLW) of the aircraft using FSUIPC? I seem to recall an XML gauge in FS 2004 (freeware addon) that gave you a red indication when your current weight (0x30C0) exceeded the MLW. I am unable to see any MLW in the FSUIPC offsets document I have (v4.70)
  18. My PFC Cirrus II Yoke is not responding in FSX. With FSUIPC 4.853 installed, the device is recognized over COM1 within FSX. Throttles and switches respond correctly, but the yoke reports a solid '64' in the configuration screen. Throw the hidden switch under throttle panel and the numbers jump to '17' and flicker to '23'. Some details of the configuration: Precision Flight Controls Cirrus II Serial Flight Console (w/hidden switch under throttle panel) Windows 7 64-bit (fresh install) FSX with Acceleration Pack Lava PCIe Serial Card - 64 bit driver / tested with known working serial cable FSUIPC 4.853 pfcfsx.dll Opening up com1 via putty, I'm able to ascii scroll by as I throw switches and push buttons. The yoke also seems to send data (was trying to ensure it wasn't a hardware failure). Additional efforts: I've also tried the ELITEFS serial driver without success (same issue with yoke not working). My original goal was to get this device working with ASA IP Trainer. ASA provided me with CirrusBATD.dll and it was also unsuccessful. I'm very encouraged that Pete has gone to the trouble to author and maintain FSUIPC. I'm looking forward to being a registered user and practicing for my IFR rating. Thank you for your assistance.
  19. Hello, I've got the FSUIPC version 3.99. Also I received a registration. I had to reinstall mij FS9 and of course FSUIPC 3.99. After installing FSUIPC, the program said it is registered but after starting FS9 it says: it is an unregistererd version. 20. Hi Pete, Please, I'm trying to install FSUIPC but it is showing the error: " Problem! The signature check fails on the installed FSUIPC4.dll. Please check that simflight is not listed as an "untrusted publisher" in internet explorer (internet options-content-publishers)." I have windows XP 32 bit, I tried to change the settings in internet explorer but it did not work. Could you help me? Best Regards, Alexandre Bighetti
  21. Guys, could you share your recommendations for programming and fine-tuning GoFlight rotaries (like those on RP48, 166A VRP and many others) via FSUIPC interface? I use GF rotaries for "in-game" rotaries in many add-on planes, like Wilco's 737, iFly 737 and many many others. In principle I know how to assign them in FSUIPC's Joy#/Btn# interface or directly to FS controls when supported, so this is not my question. The problem sometimes is that the resulting movement of the "in-game" rotaries, that require special programming via keystrokes on many add-on aircrafts, is not that smooth, compared to, for example, to generic hdg, crs, alt rotaries supported by default fsx. Is there any fine tuning in FSUIPC for this matter, like a different polling interval and maybe some others? Again, for example, I noticed on some rotaries it's not a very good idea to use different assignments on the slow and fast rotate, but use instead the slow rotate on the both. Please share your methods. Thanks, Dirk.
  22. Hi Pete I've got installed WIN7, the latest FSUIPC registered version 3.999, FS9 and Jeehell's FMGS beta 25, also the most recent version. Everything on the same PC (for test reasons). Unfortunately the FMGS cannont connect to the simulator 'via FSUIPC'. According to the FMGS forums, the connection of FSUIPC is not yet established in that case. The only thing I do, is to lauch my FS9 and a flight and I assumed that FSUIPC connection should be ready for such programms, right? I did also check the availablity and version of FSUIPC in the modules menu of the FS9, everything there. I didn't make any changes on the default FSUIPC values, but I guess that's not needed, right? For your information, I'm flying since several years on VATSIM network and use FSInn and this is still working fine. I thought if VATSIM flying and FSInn is working, this is the evidence that FSUIPC connection is fine as well, and should be the same for the needed connection now with FMGS, no? 1) Could you please confirm that FSUIPC connection to programms like FMGS should be ready by only launch FS9 and a flight? 2) And could you please advice if/how I can check/confirm that FSUIPC connection would be there and ready, so that I need to look for the problem on FMGS side? Is there any command etc to be used to proof that it would be ok? 3) Could you imagine that something additional (configuration, start a dedicated programm etc) would be needed that FSUIPC is ready to talk to Jeehell's FMGS? 4) In some forums, they're talking from a programm "FSUIPCconnect" and that it's needed to launch. I assume they mean just the FSUIPC and with "launch", they mean launch the FS and a flight, would you disagree? Thank you very much for your help Best regards Dani
  23. I'm going to develop a project to make FSX and Flight Gear to communicate with the software MATLAB/SIMULINK and I would like to know if I can configure FSUIPC to talk with both flight simulators. Thank you very much, I hope I'm posting this in the right place.
  24. Hi there, I've been working on my own version of acars and the development is going well. I've managed to learn from the code samples from many places and this forum was my reference couple of times. I know FS reads flaps as specific intervals, i.e. 0, 2047, ... 16383 when reading the offset 0x3BFA or 0xBDC. Depending how many flaps the aircraft has, the interval will be read accordingly. Does anyone have any logic in translating these values into Flap 1 (0), Flap 2 (8191), Flap 3 (16383), which already expects any aircraft, even the Wilco one, which has a different flap interval from other aircrafts? It can be in any language. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel here. Thanks.
  25. Hi I saw this problem on a forum, but I can't find it again :). The problem is: when I installed the newest (4.823, as I know) version of FSUIPC, I wrote it my keys and is said that registration is okay, WideFS - same. When I launch FSX, it asks me about launching the .dll, as in guide, but when I start the game, in FSUIPC it says that I'm not registered, not FSUIPC, not WideFS. The .key file is okay, in the log it's written for both the key is provided/not user registered(or expired for WideFS). I tried to install the older version (forgot which one, 4.30, I think), and it works good! I don't understand how, but it is. Any suggestions? Best regards, Andrew A.
