  1. I have installed FSUIPC 4.852 into my FSX installation, which includes several bits of hardware including a Saitek Pro Flight Multi Panel. Unfortunately all is not well with this installation. In essence, without FSUIPC installed (e.g. rename .DLL to .DLX) the system works perfectly as expected. However with the system installed, the Multi Panel does not behave as expected. For example if I press the AP button to engage the autopilot, some random action occurs such as the Vertical Speed autopilot being selected. If I then press AP again, some other lights will come on. Basically it makes the entire Multi Panel unusable. If I click on the graphics of the autopilot on the screen however, the correct commands occur i.e. click on AP and the autopilot engages. (Interestingly the Saitek mirrors this OK.) However if I then press the now lit AP button on the Multi Panel, some new random thing will happen such as the IAS will set to some random value. So as things are at the moment, if I wish to fly using an autopilot, I have to disconnect FSUIPC. Does anyone have a fix for this? What additional information can I provide? Thanks!
  2. Is there any way to know the Maximum Landing Weight (MLW) of the aircraft using FSUIPC? I seem to recall an XML gauge in FS 2004 (freeware addon) that gave you a red indication when your current weight (0x30C0) exceeded the MLW. I am unable to see any MLW in the FSUIPC offsets document I have (v4.70)

Hi, I have a problem with the fsuipc installed on fsx. i had windows 7 about 2 weeks ago. everything worked fine until i have upgraded to windows 8. after that , everytime i try to start a flight, in the beginning the yoke responses correctly, but all of a sudden it disconnects from fsx!! it means that the FSX doesn't see the Saitek Yoke and Saitek Rudder in CONTROLLER TYPE in the CONTROLS settings ( in fsx ). I know that the yoke and the rudder is still connected to the computer and function, because when i check the Joystick Settings in the Control Panel of the windows 8, i see that i can move them and they respond to my movements. but in fsx, they are unresponsive. if i close fsx and then re-run it, the problem goes but again after a while it becomes unresponsive again. please help me find a solution to this problem Thanks Shahdad
  4. My PFC Cirrus II Yoke is not responding in FSX. With FSUIPC 4.853 installed, the device is recognized over COM1 within FSX. Throttles and switches respond correctly, but the yoke reports a solid '64' in the configuration screen. Throw the hidden switch under throttle panel and the numbers jump to '17' and flicker to '23'. Some details of the configuration: Precision Flight Controls Cirrus II Serial Flight Console (w/hidden switch under throttle panel) Windows 7 64-bit (fresh install) FSX with Acceleration Pack Lava PCIe Serial Card - 64 bit driver / tested with known working serial cable FSUIPC 4.853 pfcfsx.dll Opening up com1 via putty, I'm able to ascii scroll by as I throw switches and push buttons. The yoke also seems to send data (was trying to ensure it wasn't a hardware failure). Additional efforts: I've also tried the ELITEFS serial driver without success (same issue with yoke not working). My original goal was to get this device working with ASA IP Trainer. ASA provided me with CirrusBATD.dll and it was also unsuccessful. I'm very encouraged that Pete has gone to the trouble to author and maintain FSUIPC. I'm looking forward to being a registered user and practicing for my IFR rating. Thank you for your assistance.
  5. Hello, I've got the FSUIPC version 3.99. Also I received a registration. I had to reinstall mij FS9 and of course FSUIPC 3.99. After installing FSUIPC, the program said it is registered but after starting FS9 it says: it is an unregistererd version. I'have FSUIPC installed several times, after deleting the FSUIPC.DLL. but to no avail. Please help me because I need FSUIPC for my 4-engined planes.   6. Hi Pete, Please, I'm trying to install FSUIPC but it is showing the error: " Problem! The signature check fails on the installed FSUIPC4.dll. Please check that simflight is not listed as an "untrusted publisher" in internet explorer (internet options-content-publishers)."   7. Hi Pete I've got installed WIN7, the latest FSUIPC registered version 3.999, FS9 and Jeehell's FMGS beta 25, also the most recent version. Everything on the same PC (for test reasons). Unfortunately the FMGS cannont connect to the simulator 'via FSUIPC'. According to the FMGS forums, the connection of FSUIPC is not yet established in that case. The only thing I do, is to lauch my FS9 and a flight and I assumed that FSUIPC connection should be ready for such programms, right? I did also check the availablity and version of FSUIPC in the modules menu of the FS9, everything there. I didn't make any changes on the default FSUIPC values, but I guess that's not needed, right? For your information, I'm flying since several years on VATSIM network and use FSInn and this is still working fine. I thought if VATSIM flying and FSInn is working, this is the evidence that FSUIPC connection is fine as well, and should be the same for the needed connection now with FMGS, no? 1) Could you please confirm that FSUIPC connection to programms like FMGS should be ready by only launch FS9 and a flight? 2) And could you please advice if/how I can check/confirm that FSUIPC connection would be there and ready, so that I need to look for the problem on FMGS side? Is there any command etc to be used to proof that it would be ok? 3) Could you imagine that something additional (configuration, start a dedicated programm etc) would be needed that FSUIPC is ready to talk to Jeehell's FMGS? 4) In some forums, they're talking from a programm "FSUIPCconnect" and that it's needed to launch. I assume they mean just the FSUIPC and with "launch", they mean launch the FS and a flight, would you disagree? Thank you very much for your help Best regards Dani
  8. Guys, could you share your recommendations for programming and fine-tuning GoFlight rotaries (like those on RP48, 166A VRP and many others) via FSUIPC interface? I use GF rotaries for "in-game" rotaries in many add-on planes, like Wilco's 737, iFly 737 and many many others. In principle I know how to assign them in FSUIPC's Joy#/Btn# interface or directly to FS controls when supported, so this is not my question. The problem sometimes is that the resulting movement of the "in-game" rotaries, that require special programming via keystrokes on many add-on aircrafts, is not that smooth, compared to, for example, to generic hdg, crs, alt rotaries supported by default fsx. Is there any fine tuning in FSUIPC for this matter, like a different polling interval and maybe some others? Again, for example, I noticed on some rotaries it's not a very good idea to use different assignments on the slow and fast rotate, but use instead the slow rotate on the both.   10. Hi I saw this problem on a forum, but I can't find it again :). The problem is: when I installed the newest (4.823, as I know) version of FSUIPC, I wrote it my keys and is said that registration is okay, WideFS - same. When I launch FSX, it asks me about launching the .dll, as in guide, but when I start the game, in FSUIPC it says that I'm not registered, not FSUIPC, not WideFS. The .key file is okay, in the log it's written for both the key is provided/not user registered(or expired for WideFS). I tried to install the older version (forgot which one, 4.30, I think), and it works good! I don't understand how, but it is. Any suggestions? Best regards, Andrew A.
  11. Hi there, I've been working on my own version of acars and the development is going well. I've managed to learn from the code samples from many places and this forum was my reference couple of times. I know FS reads flaps as specific intervals, i.e. 0, 2047, ... 16383 when reading the offset 0x3BFA or 0xBDC. Depending how many flaps the aircraft has, the interval will be read accordingly. Does anyone have any logic in translating these values into Flap 1 (0), Flap 2 (8191), Flap 3 (16383), which already expects any aircraft, even the Wilco one, which has a different flap interval from other aircrafts? It can be in any language. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel here. Thanks.
  12. Hi everyone, Over the pas few weeks/months, I have been building an overhead panel for my simulator. I purchased FSUIPC to help assign commands to the toggle switches I wanted to use. I thought the the mouse trapping technique would be easiest. I just have a single issue. I fly many different planes with different panels. I want to be able to be able to use my overhead in every aircraft I fly without having to create a new file or keep changing the commands every time. Is there any way that I could "save" a mouse macro file? So I could load the "level D" file and have all the switches assigned and then switch to the iFly 737 and load the iFly file and have all the switches assigned. I know this may sound confusing. If needed, perhaps I can explain this in another way. Thanks. Ben
  13. Good morning! Since some days I am tryingto read out some values from the FS2004 via FSUIPC. I am using the QT Creator to show my result in a small and simple form. I think my problem is an easy one.   15. I've made several posts in the past on the HiFi support boards about problems with winds I've had using Active Sky Evolution. I haven't gotten any results, so perhaps you can help. I have the unregistered version of FSUIPC 4.70 with FSX. I also use Active Sky Evolution, and have tried multiple builds, currently using their most recent, B655. When I start up a flight, the airport surface weather is correct 99% of the time. The issues start when I'm climbing, cruising, and descending. When I'm climbing through different wind layers, the winds aloft usually don't change....they often just stay with whatever the previous layer was, and the only way I've found to get them to update is to go into the FSUIPC menu inside FSX and click "Weather Settings Off". I have to do this each time, not just once at the beginning of a flight. I have to do this most of the time when I move from one wind layer to the next. At cruise altitude, I have to go in and click the FSUIPC weather settings off whenever I move into an area with noticeably different weather, or my winds won't change. On descent, like with climb, I have to click the FSUIPC weather settings off button every time I move to a new layer or the winds won't update. I've experiemented with many different rates of dynamic change in FSX/ASE, all the way from 0% (very slow weather transitions) to 100% (fastest weather transitions). There is no difference from one end of the spectrum to the other as to whether or not my winds aloft adjust. The only way I've been able to remedy this problem is to uninstall FSUIPC. Without FSUIPC on my computer, the winds are perfect.... they start out right, they change smoothly from layer to layer, and they're correct back to surface winds when I'm landing. If I tried to leave the "weather settings off" button alone after I start a descent with FSUIPC installed, I'd wind up trying to land with whatever winds aloft I had at my cruise altitude. Even after a completely clean install and update of FSUIPC and ASE, the problems returned. Unfortuntely, I have other add-ons that require FSUIPC, so keeping it uninstalled isn't an option. Some people have suggested I buy the registered version of FSUIPC, but I've read mixed results on whether or not that helps. Do you have any insight as to what I can do to get my winds to transition correctly? Or, to transition at all, I should say. Your program (FSUIPC) is a phenominal tool in allowing so many add-ons to mesh with FSX. There just doesn't seem to a happy working relationship between FSUIPC and ASE though. I've seen a lot of other people with this issue as well, but I haven't seen anybody with anything other than a guess as to the solution (e.g. buying the paid version). Thank you for any help you can give. I'm looking into putting out the money for a new PC build, and I want to make sure it will be worth it, in that I'll eventually be able to have correct and correctly transitioning winds after spending a big chunk of money on a new system.
  16. Hello Folks, I've been successfully working with FSUIPC in the past years in many languages (such c#, c, c++, pascal, vb) in several projects into the FS scope (autopilots, etc.). However, I'm now facing a huge challenge (maybe the major so far) which consists in capturing the view (yes, the view, the frames generated by FS2004, such as Cockpit View, Spot Plane View, etc.) of my FS2004 in order to embed it into a new window (or program Form, regardless of which language/IDE I'm programming), that is, is there any memory address that contains the images (frames) generated in the simulated environment which I can access via FSUIPC? So, succinctly speaking, is there any offset which is not in the offsets conventional list that can make it feasible? Regards, Rafael Coronel
  17. Let's consider this scenario: I have a SAITEK Throttle Quadrant and my application is connected to FSX. Now, the two leftmost leversl of the TQ are in their middle position (i.e. not idle). Then how would I go about controlling the engine's throttles without having the TQ override my input? In other words, if the Throttles on the TQ are at any position, I would expect that if my FSUIPC application writes any value to the throttle setting (say I write 0 for IDLE) then the Flight Simulator will immediately set it and subsequently read the current position of the levers of the TQ and directly obliterate the values I just wrote. How do I manage that sitution? My same question is valid for items such as the Mixture and Propeller levers.
  18. I just want to express my admiration for Pete and his fine FSUIPC program. Because of Pete, I am able to enjoy several benefits that wouldn't be possible without him - not least of which are VATSIM realtime ATC networked, along with being able to calibrate my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Joystick and Throttle directly within FSUIPC and assign those devices to functions within FSX whilst being able to disable all my control surfaces WITHIN FSX. IMHO, FSUIPC provides much better interface, more accurate calibration, and none of the unexpected problems I ran into whilst trying to run those surfaces solely from within FSX/Windows. Did I mention LINDA as well? Combine LINDA with FSUIPC and a whole new world of button programming opens up for flight simmers. THANK YOU, Mr. Dowson! Robert McDonald FSUIPC 4.7x REGISTERED User

  20. Pete - may I request through your forum some personal assistance should anyone be willing & are based in the UK. I no longer have the time to resolve the issues related to the above topics & I have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to resolve these issues & not actually doing any flying! Forums can be very helpful - my issues have been compounded by my apparent lack of knowledge of the computer & the interface with flight sim & the add ons - I am just not able to enjoy the hobby we all feel so passionate about.
