  2. Good morning, I have recently purchased your product ver 7.3.2. I wanted to understand what I'm doing wrong when programming my x52pro. My system Win 11, MSFS 2020, x52pro. I wanted to assign the Ap Heading Set to button 8 and ti axis V the Heading Bug inc (dec). I set it as you can see in the attached figure, but it doesn't work. The same thing for button 31 (vertical speed) and relative axis. Button 3 for window ATC but he doesn't work either. The figures are examples where I copied the settings. Thanks in advance
  3. It is now possible to run FSUIPC7 (v7.2.13 and later) on a client PC, that is, a 2nd PC where MSFS is not installed. This should allow FSUIPC clients to be ran on the client PC and allow them to communicate to the FS without the need for WideFS/WideClient. Note that this DOES NOT replace or duplicate the functionality provided by WideFS. When FSUIPC7 runs on a client PC, it will maintain its own offset area distinct from that of the offset area used by FSUIPC7 on the FS machine. However, most offsets should contain the same data, as they are populated by the data received from the FS, but be aware of this if/when writing to user offsets (e.g. using lua). Note also that you do not have to have FSUIPC7 running on the FS machine to run FSUIPC7 in the client machine. The following functionality in FSUIPC7 will not work (or is not available) in FSUIPC7 when ran in a client machine: - no installer - you need to manually install/copy FSUIPC7 to the client machine - no possibility of sending key presses to the FS (key presses CAN be received) - no auto-start or auto-connection - .... To have FSUIPC7 running on a client machine, please follow the steps indicated below. 1. Configuring SimConnect on the MSFS computer Locate your MSFS2020 SimConnect.xml file. For steam installs, this should be under <Your User Account>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator and for MS Store installs under: <Your User Account>\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache Open the file in an editor, and add a Global (remote) IPv4 port by adding the the following entry: where Your Local MSFS PC Address is your 'internal' network IP address, not your outward-facing IP. To find this, open Command Prompt on the MSFS Computer, type "ipconfig" and look for the "IPv4 Address" listed under your active internet connections. You can also change the port number, but this MUST match the port number defined in the SimConnect.cfg in your client PC (see below). Note that you also may need to open this port in any firewalls that you may use (although I did not have to do this when I configured in my LAN). 2. Install FSUIPC7 in the client machine To install FSUIPC7 on a client machine, create an DSUIPC7 folder (preferably not under Documents, Program Files, or any other windows-protected folder) and copy across the following files from your MSFS computer: FSUIPC7.exe FSUIPC7.key (if using a registered version) You can also copy across your FSUIPC7.ini file, but it may be better to start afresh with this in your client PC. 3. Configuring SimConnect on the Client computer To configure SimConnect on the client PC, create a file called SimConnect.cfg in your FSUIPC7 folder on the client machine with the following contents: where Your Local MSFS PC Address is the same address as used in the client configuration (and the port also must, of course, be the same as the one used there). 4. Configure FSUIPC7 to run on the Client computer If you have copied across your FSUIPC7.ini, open this in an editor and removed any unwanted assignments/profiles. If you have not copied across your FSUIPC7.ini, run FSUIPC7 once and exit - this will create a default FSUIPC7.ini file for you. Open this file in an editor (e.g. Notepad++). Under the [General] section, add the following ini parameters: RunningOnClientPC=Yes UseSimConnection=0 and under the [WAPI] section (if using the FSUIPC7 WASM module on the MSFS computer) - create if necessary, also add the following: UseSimConnection=0 And that is all! To use FSUIPC7 on the client machine, you must manually connect once MSFS is up and running. For any issues or questions, please use/comment on this topic. John
  4. I’m very new to simming, about a month. I have MSFS2020, windows 11 and am looking for help with PWS320 Transponder. I installed FSUIPC7 FOR MSFS everything came up perfectly, including the Transponder. Next system reboot the Transponder didn’t sync with MSFS. Help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  5. The first release of the WASM module for MSFS / FSUIPC7 is now ready for testing. Note that this is initially for MSFS developers to use for access to MSFS lvars and hvars, and for advanced FSUIPC users (i.e. those familiar with lvars) who would like to start investigating the possible use of lvars and hvars (by using the provided WASMClient test application). Please note, that this WASM module has NOT YET been integrated into FSUIPC7, so there is still no direct access to lvars or hvars from FSUIPC7. This is the next stage of the development process. The FSUIPC WASM module is available from the following location: FSUIPC-WASMv0.4.10.zip (NB: I have not released the source of the WASM module itself yet - I will probably release at some point in the future, once I have integrated into FSUIPC7). The downloadable zip file contains the following: fsuipc-lvar-module.zip: this is the WASM module. Copy this to your MSFS Community folder, extract the contents and then delete. FSUIPC_WAPI.zip: this is the developers API, and contains a static library + header files. For developers only. WASMClient.zip: this zip contains a demo test client built using the FSUIPC_WAPI, together with an ini file. This is an example of how to use the API, and also a tool that can be used to explore the lvars/hvars available for each aircraft. Allows you to list/set/get lvars, and to list/activate hvars. WASM Module ini files A FSUIPC_WASM.ini is provided under the WASM top-level folder. It is suggested to leave this as it is. To make changes to the ini file, copy that file to the following location and edit from there: For Steam installs: <USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\fsuipc-lvar-module For MS Store installs: <?>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\fsuipc-lvar-module\ The parameters set in this location will take precedence over those located in the ini file in the WASM folder. WASMClient ini file An ini file can also be used by the WASMClient, and an an example WASMCloent.ini is provided. This just contains the default values (i.e. the WASMClient will run the same if this file is removed) but is provided if you need to adjust for any reason. Log Files The WASM log file can be found under: For Steam installs: <USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\fsuipc-lvar-module\work\ For MS Store installs: <?>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\fsuipc-lvar-module\work The logfile for the WASMClien.exe is created in the folder from which it is ran. Lvar Values Update Frequency Configuration By default, lvars are updated automatically by the WASM on each simconnect Frame. This can be changed by editing the WASM ini file, to one of Off, Second, Frame, VisualFrame. You can also update lvar values upon request from the WASMClient. This has the advantage of allowing a finer update rate as you can specify the rate in Hz (*number of updates per second). To do this, you need to disable updates in the WASM (by setting LvarUpdateFrequency=Off), and then activate updates in the client by setting, e.g. for 6 updates per second: LvarUpdateFrequency=6 WASM Event Numbers Used If you are using multiple WASM modules, you should check that the custom events being used are not conflicting. The FSUIPC WASM module uses, by default, uses 6 consecutive event numbers starting at 0x1FFF0. You can change this if needed by setting the FSUIPC_WASM.ini file parameter StartEventNo. Note that if you change this in the WASM module, you must also change in any/all of the WASM clients. Notes on LVAR access Lvars are scanned by the WASM module and made available to the Client API. In general, this seems to work ok, but there are issues. 1. LVARS can be created at any point after an aircraft is loaded, so there may be additional ones created after the initial scan and during the lifetime of the aircraft session. I have delayed the initial lvar scan to hopefully pick-up most lvars that are initially created. There is also a 'Reload' facility (in the API and implemented in the WASMClient) that you can manually call to re-scan for lvars (and hvars), although I'm not sure how useful this is yet. 2. Many LVARS don't seem to relate to the loaded aircraft. This is especially the case when changing aircraft, is it seems many of the lvars used by the previous aircraft are not cleared. I'm not sure what to do about this at the moment, or if this is an issue. One thing I could do is to introduce the concept of lvar files (as we have hvar files - see later). Lvars would still be detected via scanning, but then the list of scanned lvars would be filtered using this list, and so only lvars found by scanning AND that are in the aircraft-specific lvar file would be made available to the client. Of course, the files would be optional and would only be used if present, otherwise all lvars would be loaded. Notes on HVARS access Currently, HVARS for aircraft are loaded by using files, located in the WASM module folder, and loaded on a substring match on the filename to the current loaded aircraft. The current release contains a hvar file for the A320Neo only, so hvars are only available for this aircraft. If you want to use hvars with other aircraft, you will have to discover what they are and create a aircraft hvar file containing these (with the filename being a substring of the aircraft TITLE that uniquely identifies the aircraft, and the extension being .hvar). If people could post the hvars they find (or the hvar files they create) then I will add them an include in future releases. Still needs a lot of work, especially in error/exception handling. Sorry also for the code formatting - its a bit of a mess! I've been doing mainly Java for the past 25 years, and the formatting/naming convention is a mixture of java style, original K&R style and default windows/VS styling. I'll harmonize this at some point, maybe, if I ever get time.... I'm also new to Github, although I'm familiar with Git, so haven't really explored its possibilities. I'm happy to add improvements/updates from others who would like to contribute, but I've yet to work out how to do this, although I'm also sure its relatively straight-forward.... I'm not really interested in the Client any more, as that is just a simple test utility for the API, as well as being a useful tool for folks to start investigating lvars & hvars, and what they can do for each aircraft. I am not planning to update this further, but I'm happy to add updates from others if they wish to add new functionality.   6. Hi, I've just purchased FSUIPC7 and I am trying to use the load flight plan function but it doesn't appear to be loading the plan into my plane. I was advised by another user that I can do that while I am in my plane, which happens to be a Cessna 172 G1000 in this instance. Thanks in advance.

  8. Dear support, I need help setting up my keybinds with my new FSUIPC7 license. I would like to try and use some CRJ switches. The switches in the list do not work and I suppose I need to get the Hex of the control. Could you maybe tell me how or show me a tutorial? Have been searching for one but without success.   9. Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a plugin to allow for custom engine failures in MSFS20 and I'm using C# with the NuGet FSUIPC Module. So far I've got the following: ``` private Offset<uint> engine_failure = new Offset<uint>(0x0B6B); ... // Fail engine 1 engine_failure.Value = 1; // Fail engine 2 engine_failure.Value = 2; // Fail engine 3 engine_failure.Value = 3; // Fail engine 4 engine_failure.Value = 4; ``` However the issue is that if I fail engine 1 and then fail engine 2, engine 1 will come back alive since `engine_failure.Value` only takes one number (0,1,2,3,4). Is there any way I can fix this? Is there some sort of hidden offset to fail individual engines? Any help would be greatly appreciated! -T
  10. Hey guys, based on the TripleUse.lua i tried to get an more generic and easier to configure script. This supports to easily assign lua functions to button presses but not only for the rising or falling edge of the signal but also for double-press (like doubleclick) or for long press. It is based on Pete's TripleUse.lua but extended to be able to call the funtions that were already defined in other lua scripts like the ones coming with LINDA. You can just refer to it and re-use all the additional stuff like writing something to VRInsight panel displays etc. --[[ 1=BU0836A Interface 2=MFG Crosswind V2 3=FCU / Lights 5=Joystick 7=Controller (GAME FOR WINDOWS >) btnFunc is an multi-dimensional array (lua:table) containing data in the format { joy, button, singlePressFunctionName, doublePressFunctionName, longPressFunctionName } use function name "ignore" to mark an status as unused. ]] btnFunc = { { 3, 7, "DeIce_PITOT_on", "ignore", "DeIce_PITOT_off"}, { 5, 3, "APU_STARTER", "APU_EXTINGUISH_FIRE", "APU_OFF_SWITCH"} } In the 2nd line of the btnFunc "Table"/ array you can see, that the Joystick button three has the APU assigned that way: single short press: APU start double short presses: APU extinguisher fires long press: APU is switched off. Of course that list / array with buttons can be easily extended to all recognized "USB_Gamecontroller_Buttons". I published the more generic TripleUse.lua and TripleUseAssignments.lua on Github.   11. Hi, I use a 128 button box and want to use my rotary knobs with FSUIPC. They send short joystick button presses for each direction a different button. But as the are >32, I needed to use a LUA script and/or LINDA. For LUA only, I just used the provided example - it somehow worked, but the refresh rate is very very low (~1 second). Even when setting poll rate = 100. When I use LINDA it gets better, but it is still much to slow reacting. I stopped turning the knob (and no button presses anymore) but the heading bug was still increasing. It is also having around 1 sec delay. Also in the LOG I see this delayed actions. Any advice?   12. This FAQ post explains how to get SimConnect logging, it gives the folder name where to place the required SimConnect.ini file. As for MSFS, it is "USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator" (USER replaced by the actual Windows login account name). However, such a folder did not exist in my system. I created it and placed the required SimConnect.ini file in it. I did not get any logging. My MSFS version is Could the folder name have changed since the post update? Or could it be a matter of misspelling?

  14. Hi All, hi Pete My target is to be able to move the drone camera. I tried to use the logging facility to check for events/offsets to use. Drone camera is moved by keys W,A,S,D - R,F (Up and down) and numpad 4 and 6.
