  1. Hi, ISSUE 1 = Heavy aircraft runway assignments ... Had an issue with KBOS tonight with heavy aircraft being assigned runways which should have been feasible but were not being accepted by the sim. Was using KBOS custom schedule by Jonas found here in a multiplayer session. Setup: we were using 22L for inbounds and 22R for departures. 22L for heavies was the plan but they would only accept 33L; even though there is only a small difference in runway length. All the following aircraft in this session should have been able to takeoff from 22L but only accepted 33L: ISSUE 2: ALL aircraft are taxiing off runways extremely slowly which is causing serious inbound traffic issues, resulting in many go arounds depending on Traffic Density setting. Please fix this. ########################### HOST LOG FILE = Can be found here.
  2. How exactly does the approach determine which runway to assign the next arrival aircraft, which isn't already on approach? AND ... What happens with the next arrival aircraft (which isn't already on approach) when you re-assign a different runway to the already inbound aircraft? Does changing the pre-assigned runway affect how the next arrival aircraft's runway assignment will be determined? Thanks in advance :)
  3. Sorry guys, but I don't think that KSFO is fixed regarding runway incursions when taxiing to the gate. Landings are on runway 28R and take-off's on runway 28L. On most taxiways between the 2 runways (the short ones), the holding point for the aircraft exiting (left) runway 28R seems also to be the holding point for any aircraft about to cross runway 28L. The upshot of this is that any aircraft leaving 28R and instructed to taxi to the terminal WILL CROSS runway 28L without any further clearance. Really I would expect to clear an aircraft to the terminal, then it would hold almost immediately, waiting for a continue taxi instruction to allow it across runway 28L. It happens on all the short taxiways EXCEPT taxiway L. Taxiway L, interestingly acts as you would expect. So the taxiways where you have to clear the aircraft to cross runway 28L are L, T, and Q (as expected), and the taxiways that the aircraft will just cross anyway are E, K, D, and R. This maybe by design, but I don't think it's correct. Cheers. PS - The log contains about 1hr 30mins of operations. The plethora of 'hold short of runway 28R' instructions, are just there mostly to clear aircraft across runway 1L & 1R without hindrance. Game&Speech_log.zip
  4. You must copy the original "Runways.txt" file that is created when you run "MakeRunways" > "makerwys.exe" (by Pete Dowson) into your actual working Folder where RwyLength is installed. (this Runways.txt file is about 100Mb) Install / unzip where you like. Create a separate Folder. This program is extracting: ICAO, country, City, Apt-name ..... Rwy-ID, length in ft, le in meter, le in nautic miles. Click on [ Start ] (creating a new txt-file you can use and extract data in case you need this data for your own applications) Later on, selecting the new created (shorter) File, the program start is faster. You could use this program (with your own application) p.e. for creating a precise Runway-Length graphic display. (when the APL passed 70% of rwy-Le the graphic could change color or a sound is advicing you) What you need is the position Lat/Lon where your Runway is starting. If the Aircraft is ready for take-off you can calculate the precise Rwy-Distance left based on: Lat/Lon Pos Start-Rwy - Distance to any next or destination lat/lon position - considering the RywLenght and your actual Apl-Position lat/lon. Input a ICAO into the Search-Field > click [ S ]earch button > select the List-Item-Airport. Input a ICAO into the Search-Field > direkt connection to Charts and Airport Information. 5. I've noticed it on a few of the runway choices where planes on the runway when landing will land off the center of the runway and drift towards the center, and when taking off start in the center and drift to the left or right (off the runway in some cases). Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice or solutions would be helpful. Thank you
  6. Hi all, Does anyone else have issues with ATC assigning runways that do not exist? By reading several forums, I understand there used to be issues with this in previous versions of MTX and it is the result of how the program must be written in order to use crosswind/multiple runways, yet I am having these issues in 5.4a. Perhaps the false runways are not located far enough from the airport to keep ATC from assigning them, in my case KCLT as i tried various IFR flights into there to see if the problem was recurring and indeed it was.
