Spoiler opening when turn right or left

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a problem. I have Fs2004 FSUIPC 3.44 PFC.dll 1.90 that I use with my Cirrus II console.

Today I have installed FS2004 and the problem is that when I turn right (in flight or at ground), right spoiler opens; when I turn left, left spoiler opens... so it's impossible to pilot...

A lot of time I have tried to calibrate axis but I always have the same problem.

Thank you very much

Luca

That shouldn't be a problem. Why impossible to pilot? I think you may just be blaming some other little error on the wrong thing?

I think a small amount of spoiler is used for turns on many jets. I'm not sure of the details. But, whatever, it isn't a function of FSUIPC or PFC.DLL or any of your controls, because, put plainly and simply, there are NO FS controls availble for operating the left and right spoilers separately.

A lot of time I have tried to calibrate axis but I always have the same problem.

Since it isn't anything to do with any axis or controls, other than links to the ailerons in the aircraft modelling, I am not surprised you can't change it.

I think you need to look elsewhere for your piloting problems!

Regards,

Pete

All three of the airplanes you listed are actually fitted with spoilerons, which behave exactly as you describe in real life.

In the aircraft.cfg file, under the airplane_geometry section, there is an entry "spoilerons_available" When set to 1 it enables this type of flight control action. So if's there, it's because the FDE designer put it there.

Hello, thank you everyone for your support, thank you Peter for your message.

I fly Flight simulator for three years and I have never seen this problem.

Yesterday I received my new PC, so I have reinstalled all the software and...I have found this problem.

This is the first time I see this kind of problem.

And I think that it's a "problem" non a "real" procedure...because when I turn right o left I have FULL spoiler extension and in the cockpit spoiler extension light turn on.

Perhaps it could be a false contact of my cloche...I'll check.

Thank you

Luca

But do both left and right operate, or only one? If both are operating, then, yes, it sounds like some sort of assignment problem -- check in FS joystick assignments that the spoiler axis isn't assigned wrongly.

But if only left or right spoiler operates, there really cannot be anything wrong in your controls, because there are no controls which will do that. It would then be simply the way the aircraft visuals and gauges are modelled.

Pete

With all aircraft (with spoiler) Default 737, PMDG 737 Cessna Citation (payware...) ALL

Well, as one of the designers of the Cessna Citation series, I can assure you that is exactly proper behavior for our aircraft! The spoilerons are used to help "dump lift" on the wing to assist in establishing the bank angle. This technique is used on all sweptwing, high speed aircraft.

Peter, turn right, right spoiler opens, left turn left spoiler, not both :)

But with 737-400 default airline I have never seen this "problem"

By the way, does your B737-400 default airline (for FS2004) open full flap when you turn? (on the ground and in the sky).

Thanx you VERY much !

Luca

Okay, it's correct then, it's "spoileron" operation.

Full Flap?

Quite honestly, I never get out of the plane when I'm flying it. Seems to rather spoil the illusion rather.

Pete
