showard
Hi All, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Small proplem, I am trying to program the X45 using the throttle rotary as a mixture control for a Cessna 172. I have made a profile for FS2004 but cannot get FSUIPC to recognise the control. It sees the throttle, elevator, rudder and pitch, but not the rotary. Any suggestions would be welcome as I've read and re-read the manual. Maybe I'm just dense!!! It sees the throttle, elevator, rudder and pitch, but not the rotary. FSUIPC does not "recognise" joystick axes as such, it only sees controls assigned in FS. Does FS see the rotary and act upon it? If not, then nor will FSUIPC. Regards, Pete
showard
Pete, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I don't think FS sees the rotary control, however, there is a freeware utility that does actually set up some rotory controls (Increase AP Height, move the heading bug). I cannot figure out how this is achieved (possibly with an amendment to the config file) but I have not yet discovered the secret. Never mind. Time to retire the old X45 as it's a jet fighter control and I don't fly jets fighters anymore. Need to move on to a yoke, throttle and lots of radio things. Need to start saving up! Ah, in that case it sounds as if the rotary is NOT an axis at all, as the rotary throttles are on, say, the Microsoft and Saitek Game Pads. Maybe it produces button presses. Try going to FSUIPC's "Buttons" option page, then operate the rotary -- see if you get a button number identified. Regards, Pete
